Dont laugh but i did my usual trick again ......... brought with my heart instead of my head. Just gettin a 300zx tt jap import... it appears to be tuned to the nuts... scared me shitless on the test drive. All appears to be running well..at the moment(had the sense to insist on a years labour and parts warranty) My problem is that ive never run one of these b4 and couldnt even begin to guess what mods have been made. Need someone who is local to me (Peterborough) who will be able to tell me what has and hasnt been done to it too at least give me a starting point tob work from. Any body recommend someone???

Evening all :) I've spotted a small coolant leak on my Zed, the reason the rad needs a top-up most mornings. Can anyone tell me what part it is from the attached picture? It's dripping from the end, where the hose meets the bulkhead. The hose is wrapped in silver shiny foily stuff and is about 3/4 to an inch wide. Thanks for any help :) Pete

So it seems that my beautiful Volk Racing Forged Alloys are for the scrap heap after speaking to every wheel refurbishment outfit I can find (including Pristine, Ace Alloys, Pemberton Tyres.......) I was delighted to hear that the replacement Rays wheels are about £1200 a piece (plus tyres!), so I need to find a cheaper alternative. I know there are many of you who know good cheap places for new alloys - all tips greatly received, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has 4 tasty wheels for sale. My strong preference would be for 17", but all serious replies considered. Many thanks.

Hi all. Has anyone seen or had a headlamp conversion done on thier 300? I saw a one at the weekend that had just two round lenses. One for the main beam and one for the indicator. I didn't get a chance to speak to the owner to find out where he had it done. Just wondering if anyone knows who's offering this kit? Cheers m8's

Has anyone done this themselves, both sides? Mine need doing and I'm about to order them both. Any tips on fitting them, I've heard the old 'uns are difficult to remove? Gonna also do the PCV valves and hoses too - what sort of job is that. I found the write-ups the other day but they always make it sound easier ;) Cheers for the help :) Pete

Folks - Anyone got any good ideas for unblocking the windscreen washers? Mine have slowly clogged up. I made sure the pump was working (the pipes all the way up to the washers themselves are definitely clear - as demonstrated by squirting water over my crotch!), then went about it myself with limited success. Basically I started with the trusty safety-pin down the nozzles trick. Seemed pretty clear straight away but didn't help with the squirting. Then I got a football pump to the underside of the nozzles and did a few good blasts through it - definitely felt blocked and I found there was blue powder (washer fluid I guess), coming out of the nozzles. This opene…

Trying to get these things out of my old Zed...have undone all the screws in existence but they seem to be wedged in tightly still. Is it just the bonding that's holding them and can that be heated to free them up or am I missing a FO bolt gripping them to the car? :D

I`m just about to pop up to Luke to get this damn ugly cracked rubber thing taken off the rear tailgate. If you had a choice, what would you have, a supra style high/low level spoiler or the fibregalss replica of the original Zed spoiler. I cannot make my mind up....what do you think?

Well the Top Gear "theme" was safety but it heavily disguised by proper things like indecently powerful cars (I want one!). I notice that people often refer to Zed's as a 'safe' car because of it's size, weight, cost etc. I have never really believed this because it's simply too old and so I did a little research :- http://www.safecarguide.com/mak/nissan/idx.htm http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/testing/ncap/cars/1347.html And before you start feeling comfortable, these figues seem to be for the US model and side impart bars were only installed in Series II upwards UK Zeds and I think only the later ones have airbags. 350Z's look good though. Drive S…

Does anyone know of a group buy for the Racelogic TC. If not, where's the best place to order one? Cheapest kit (including launch control) I've seen so far is £553+vat. I know some guys on the forum have fitted it themselves but I wouldn't have a clue. So who fits them in the London or surrounding Surrey/Kent area? Cheerz.

I did not notice it when I bought the car, but part of the rear window glass of my 300zx has small 'bubbles' within the laminated glass, which does affect visibility. I guess there is not way to get rid of it is there ? How much is a new rear window for a 300zx import ? Thanks John

I thought bhp was measured at the road wheels. My mate (who's always right) says its measured at the crank, so the bhp measured on a rolling road would be alot less than 300 for a tt Z. Is he right again?

Sorry about that title... I can't believe I just wrote that... :D Ever since I've had the car, the gear lever shaft has always been a bit wobbly. Gear selection itself is fine, but whether its in neutral or in any of the gears the shaft always has an inch or two of lateral movement (there's no front-to-back movement). Anyone got any ideas for sorting this out? I'm guessing its worn bushes, but are there any springs in there that might have worn out? Also, what's the best way to access the area? Looking at the service manual, it looks like the bushes are buried about a foot below the actual lever! :) Thanks

I have seen the buy guide, and it mentioned that trying to avoid to buy the automatic z32 before 90, because it has overheating problem and "Z's with over 60 - 70K miles is in danger of failed turbos/seals - if they have been well looked after with regular servicing and good quality oil the turbos and seal can last to over 120K." Now, I have got one 90's auto z32, which runs 120000km already, it is imported in the uk in 2002, I worried that mine one will have the above problem (especially overheating), can anyone tell me what should I do if the problem occurs? and how can I check that is the problem occurs already? Because I am a new young driver, I don't know m…

Am having a pair installed in the next few days and was wondering what boost I can run without having to mess about with the intercoolers, pistons etc. I'll probably upgrade these later, but I need to sort the ECU and boost first. Is it best to stick with a JWT ECU and boost control upgrade to complement the larger turbos or should I be considering something else? At the end of the day I wanna try to achieve a good spool up, the turbos reaching max efficiency at mid to upper range of engine speed. Any advice very much appreciated.
