...or maybe I was just vewy vewy lucky!:) I've had a problem with the short top hose that goes into the front of the engine for some time (same problem as Beermonster) I've been keeping the old girl topped up with water on a daily basis, but yesterday I went out and got stuck in the most horrendous traffic in London. I encountered 4 major road closures and a HUGE factory fire in Hackney. Spent ages just sitting in the burning sun (t-tops off!:D ) going nowhere fast. Anyway, after about 5 hours of this I had steam and all sorts of horrible hissing and gurgling noises from the engine bay. I pulled into a garage because I had been driving with the temp needle near…

My offside dipped beam isn't working. When I turn the dipped beam on, all other headlights come on, but rather dimly. All bulbs are OK. I've tested the voltage across the dipped beam on dip, and it's zero. When I turn on main beam, it goes to 12V. Relay? Dodgy earth? Ideas anyone? Cheers, Matt.

I need new engine mounts and the gearbox mount. Where's the best place? WillyEd spotted some uprated ones on http://www.uniqueautosports.com Anyone got these and what's the delivery time like from Aus? According to that site the Nissan ones over there are around £94 EACH! At least I can look forward to a good laugh today when I call my local Nelson Maindealer for pricing ;)

Whilst driving around the ring road a vw polo (shistey looking green thing about a C reg) in front of me started to boot it, so i shot up behind him. We then got along side it at the lights and when we pulled off HE pulled away from me!!!! We then went down the same dual carrageway that i got whipped by i scoob on (which i have scince found out is heavily modded, so i dont mind so much) And again pulled away from me, ok it wasnt by much and i was four up. My car is performing fine, and the speeds we were doing tells me that ive got no problems with the car, the polo was just blatently faster, it whistled like a ba5tard, so im guessing it had a G40 engine or some…

hi guys, had a couple of rear boots fitted the other day as the old ones were down to the wire(Well almost) and the fronts were changed about 4 months or 5000 miles ago. Looking at the tread of the front tyres, they're starting to wear badly again on the inside, which brings me back to the negative camber problem again. Has anyone managed to source a kit from the UK yet? Last time i casually inquired, which was ages ago, a member was expecting to get his hands on some. Any help or pointers would be appreciated. I want to buy a 300ZX. I have seen about a dozen cars including non turbos which have ranged in price from £5000 to £8500. What do I need to look for when buying. Are imports better than UK cars. Where can I get a good car. :)

If this is all a conzult is - http://300zx-twinturbo.com/conzult/product.jpg , then why the heck is it about $450 ?? I mean i could easily make that crappy wire, it's less than a floppy's worth of software which i expect is only very simple. But i don't know what that little black box is, which mean i can't make 1 i have to buy it! Surely it should be like a $50 product. Sorry, just i got all excited about ordering one then i realised the extortionate price!

Beautiful night last night, thought I'd take the Zed for a pint with the wife. Parked outside a busy pub right by the sea. Lots of onlookers-Big smile!!! Gets back in the car a little later with lots of onlookers again, turn the key and my face is as red as my paintwork. Why does that squeal when the starter motor won't turn have to be so loud!!! Fortunately the third turn of the key and we were off, pretty quickly!!!!!! So it looks like replacement as although it hasn't done this for a couple of months embarrasing moments in life should always tried to be avoided. Only question is guys, could it be that starter relay thingy????? I'm thinking not, p…

This may be a little petty, but I've got a Jap TT import - cool enough. But I really want the brake lights to light the full width of the brakes (and ditto for the indicator). it may look a bit yank, but at night I think it looks awesome. I was 19 years old in 1990 and totally fell in love with these cars when I saw some on a trip to the US, never expected to get one but nostalgia has a way of biting you on the arse!!! Minor gripe but all small things make a big thing like a Zed Rod

I currently have a JWT'd ecu. Would you use an A/F ratio controller on top or completely seperatey, -to be used with a stock ecu? Which setup is recommend/concidered to be best? Also can you tell what voltages your mas is pumping out on one of these? Think mine may be dodgy and buying one of these babies would be a good way to find out ;)

As most of you know stock PTU's (apart from very late ones) are prone to failure. I can get the after market PTU's brand new for £140. I think thats a good price. I sell 2nd hand ones for £100, so £140 for a new one is very good. Nissan charge about £250-£300. These after market ones are better and much more reliable than stock. If anyone wants one then email me at geewhizz@onetel.net.uk. Apologies for using this forum, but I didn't want anyone to miss out :-) Thanks Andy

How is this for lucky...the image shows a near miss for a zed we had for belt and pump swap this week, the engine on the zed had been replaced some 6 months ago by a previous owner but without any belt history and a weeping water pump the owner thought it was time to get the job done. When stripped down is was obvious that some damage had occured to the lower metal section belt cover ( maybe when the engine was been fitted) and the belt was catching on the sharp edge of it, in fact the first I saw was belt debris everywhere, unfortunately the picture does not show how cut up the belt was on the front edge due to this, a belt I might add that was otherwise in very goo…

am in the middle of fitting my 99 front end. I offered it up, and cant get it to sit flush, have the drivers side flushish, but the passenger side is riding about 1/2 inch low, and when I tighten the bolts, its just pulling the bumper or the bodywork out of shape, any ideas??

Just took the car out for a good thrash. (Just discovered locking it down and redlining in first then second, then going to drive really makes it shift ;) ) Anyway got back and there was coolant pouring out the front drivers side of the car with a lous hissing. Engine temp had been half all the journey. I think this is fairly normal for Zeds to jettison coolant when the pressure builds, but I'm not sure. Here's a vid to show what it was doing. Is this normal or is it bad?

Can anyone help I'm getting a strange hissing noise from inside the dash (top center) every time I add power. The noise goes away when the power is off or when I'm coasting along. Some times this noise is joined by a short girgle (like bubbling liquid). I cant find any air leaks under the hood, so thought it may be in the AC. any idears any one!!! Thanks Chris
