Absolutely wasted a prelude yesterday, got about 10 lengths on him 40-80. Normally this would obviously be no big deal, especially as it was only the 2.0i one, but to make up for it I was driving my bag of sh1te, barge like, cement coated, bits falling off carlton estate;) Woohoo feel the power of my 160 horses:D

For anyone who's thinking about replacing their stock head unit (HU), the new HU with the appropriate ISO adaptor and aerial adaptor will most likely not activate the rear amp to power the rear speakers. This is because the connection to activate the rear amp from the new HU will not be in place resulting in the rear speakers not working. Either find out how to activate the amp and have the signal from the new HU amplified, again, by rear amp before it reaches the rear speakers or introduce new wires connecting directly to the rear speakers. However, I've found another way of bypassing the rear amp without having to route new speaker wires to the rear speakers. …

  6. I've recently put a new steering wheel boss on, which was a pain in the arse to fit. I ended up taking all the old boss/electronics off and re-fitting the plate with the 3 contacts only. I then realised that each electrode controls something different and the contact plate on the end of the boss only contacts with the middle electrode only. I rewired it thinking that they were for the cruise control only, so that the middle electrode was for the horn. The very first sharp corner i came to the HICAS light came on. Now i need to know how i'm supposed to fit the boss properly, and also which way round the wires went to set them back to normal. Can i still drive ro…

Phoned nissan today to order a new top rad hose, (the shorter one that goes from the top of the rad to the metal pipes). £33 plus VAT!!! bargain!!!! On inspection the plastc on the end of the rad is comming to bits, im hoping that there is enough left on it for a new hose to grab onto. If not has it got to be a new rad or does the plastic end bit come off somehow??

Is this gauge prone to failure? I picked up my Zed yesterday from the docks, engine sounded sweet as f*ck, oil level perfect,no sign of white smoke from the exhaust and yet the oil pressure gauge showed zero

I will shortly be replacing my tailgate with the popular tailgate panel containing the 4 round light clusters. I have opted for symetrical lights, which means I will 'lose' my after-market rear fog, which currently uses one of the rear lenses. I will be retaining the standard bumper with integrated brake light and was wondering if anyone has used this lens as their rear fog??? And if so, was it a difficult task?

hi all i am going to remove my rear gearbox seal( the one on the transmission where the prop slides in ) as mine is leaking and also changing the prop centre bearing same time. Has anybody got an exploded view of the gearbox , i have got a cd rom manual but i don,t think there,s an exploded view of the box on there, also would it be wiser to change all the prop because i was going to split it from centre bearing forward to the gearbox (just the short bit) and just replace that with the new centre bearing on the new prop so what do you all think any info would be of help cully z:D :D

Today i have at long last put the Jwt eprom into my AUTO ECU after removing the stock eprom....I am very pleased with the results...Unfortunatley not too pleased that some people on this forum told me it would not work??? fortunatly my experiance as a mechanic may'd me believe otherwise.... And so after pluging in and simply going as you say....thats all it took ..now i have the first Zed auto tt running on a manual jwt chip....:)

How easy is it to change the all the locks in the Zed - doors, boot, glove box? Does anyone know who would do this if it's difficult? Was just wondering as I have all 3 keys for the red zed but only the titanium for the black one.

  24. Why does my car start better when its been standing for a few days? My Z starts up normally like every one elses I suspect, only needing a few turns before the car starts. But if my car has not been started for a few days, I hardly get time to turn to key before the starts up. I dont even hear the starter motor going. Why does it start better after being left? Strange Stuart

I got the gearbox out and all the pipes and electrics are disconnected so almost ready to lift the big lump of junk out ;) I read in the engine removal tech article on twinturbo.net that you have to disconnect the steering universal joints as part of the process. Is this right as the steering rack seems to be under the engine on the subframe? or is it bolted to the block? If so, how do they come apart?
