Driving to work this morning. The car started to stumble as I accelerated and when foot to floor she seems to hesitate as she approaches full boost. If driving easy she's fine only when accelerating hard. I have a new fuel pump, filter and F.Press.Regulator new plugs so dont think its a fueling problem Recently converted to manual but Not sure how that would effect it. No smoke from turbos so dont think its them . Car is stock mechanically 105K UK. Wondering could it be air intake or Mass flow sensor?? Hello there folks, white smoke is coming from the exhausts of my twin turbo 1990 jap import. It doesn't smoke all the time. If you start if from cold - no smoke. When you take the car for a drive, get it up to operating temperature and then stop and leave the engine running, it doesn't smoke. Its only seems to smoke when after you take the car for a drive. Stop the car, leave it for a few minutes and then start it up again and then white smoke comes from the exhausts. Sometimes one exhaust is worse than the other. I have a 1992 300zx import n/a, and plan on doing on oil change this weekend. I was going to use Castrol Magnatec semi synthetic, but I saw some Valvolene 5-50 fully synthetic for £16.99 and bought it. Do you think this oil is suitable ? Thanks John

I need advice,I have an86 300zx it has been getting hot, I got a new clutch fan, didn,t fix it I had the thermostat replaced that fixed it for a couple of days now it,s getting hot again it dosen,t make any sense! Anyone got any advice I am at the end of my rope and running out of money HA HA Jana

Anyone done steering rack bushes, my Z has a bad brake shudder above 40 mph and 2 nite i put the car over a pit and rocked the steering.....the rack moves nearly quarter of an inch side to side. Anyway the steering doesnt feel right the more i think about it but there are no clunks/bangs from my car at all over bumps. Anyone done the bushes for similar reasons? Cheers John Crisp

I know you are all proberbly fed up with this subject. But it is time to put the zed on the road and I am finding it really hard to find a company that will quote me on an import at all and thats before I tell them about the dr10. Have done a search and read lots of previous posts, rang suggested companies and most do not cover imports now. Can anyone who has just renewed insurance on an import, or is about to, suggest a company to try. regards kev

On my MOT, the chap pointed out to me that what he called my "top rear bush" which is just behind the rear wheel. Scince he's told me i swear i can feel that wheel moving a bit on bumps though i might be imagining it, it also makes the tyre wear on the outside. Anyone know what the real name for it is, how much it can be bought for and whether a mere motal like me can fit one, or will i need expert help?? Many thanks

Can I use Lacquer on an amplifier ? I know these things get hot but I'm not sure if I laqcuer it will it blister or peel ? these were my amps before I painted them Then I painted them with Radiator paint good for up to 200 degres C. I would like them to shine a bit more and also hold the 300zx sticker in place as it's meant for a window although it is holding well. Any thoughts ?

Greetings fellow Zed Heds from Sunny Kent. I've stumbled upon this excellent forum while browsing for bits and pieces for my Zed. I wondered if anyone knew of some decent experts on 300's in and around my/your area? I've been ripped off severely several times and, having spent about 30K on this car, decided I should get some contacts that I can rely on. I have a few problems, the most annoying of which is with the brakes. 2 Callipers, 2 Discs and 4 brake pads later and I still get severe wobble on the steering wheel when breaking from reasonably high speed. i have recently bought a zx import that has been running on 5 on and off since i bought it and after a zx owner looked at it we pinpointed it down to the wires to the coils(spark plugs). i took the covers off the wires and there were no breaks but moving the wires made it run on 5 and less. the wires are brittle and iwould like to replace them along with the connectors to the coil. where can iget them from without replacing the whole loom as i wouldnt be confident enough myself unless somebody else could do it?

hi i am interested in getting a wide arch kit for my car. i am FULLY aware that luke sells them at the Zcentre however, i have seen a couple of cars with a different design. the only way to describe is that it looks like a large rear vent similar to ferrari etc. does anybody know a website or contact so i can get some more info. or does anybody have links to other designs. cheers

Hi There! Anyone after a set of good condition stock uk spec wheels and tyres? Hogging too much space in my parking lot... Also, does anyone know of where I can get, or better still anyone have, a pair of stainless steel downpipes for a uk Twin turbo? That little pipe (emmission control?) into the side of the main downpipe has corroded through and it's blowing... :-(

What is the actual difference between the master and the valet keys? Could a valet key be cut if you only have a master key? Graham.

I've spent ages looking and 'phoning round all the places near me to find MIG welding tips, and either they dont stock them, they wont sell them or they only have eg 0.6 or 0.8mm. :rolleyes: Does anyone know of a mail order company that can get them out to me by Saturday? Can you help me with the following please. I have had my nissan 300zx (non- turbo) since Jan 2003 - 1991 plate and im experiencing a few problems. The automatic gearbox is loosing traction when im at or above 100 mph and the power light is flashing on. Any ideas? Thanks, Keith Totney

I have a 1990 jap import TT. (manual ) The boost gauge goes from -7 to +7. On full boost I'm getting about 6 psi. Is this about right? I've heard that normal boost is +9 psi? Any comments? Cheers. Martin.

...just got front and rear poly bushes from M J P - any tips on fitting - particularly the front tie rod bushes - was someone suggesting warming them up in hot water before hitting them with a lump hammer... ...thanks in advance. Jack

I am looking to extend my garage by the addition of another car and am thinking of the 300ZX as a possibilty. I already own 3 of the worlds best cars; an Impreza Turbo (the best car ever made!) a MX-5 (despite its girlie image its a great little fun car!) and an M3 Convertibe (just to add a little class!) Could you tell me why I should add a 300ZX to my collection and what does it do better than any other car? Although money is no object could you tell me how much a good one would cost?? Does anyone know much about the interior clock on a 300zx 1992 import? Mine does not work, the drivers handbook refers to a fusebox behind the hood release lever, that must be for a UK version. All I can see is a fusebox in the engine bay. Anyone got any suggestions about the clock ? Thanks John

One day officer I was on a derestricted road with 5 passengers and a fully laiden tank of petrol and a full boot. I had achieved a speed of 140feet per min and the road went down steeply. I decided to take the car out of gear and let test Newtons second law of motion and I confer that it is true. However in realising that a 20mph corner was approaching way too fast i used the full strength in my led to pull the car to a stop. I slowed to 60mph quite quickly however by this time the brake pedal had gone rock hard ( I'm not sure if this was the brake fluid exanding or something else) anway I had to take a side exit into a layby to eventually stop.
