As the title states, was remote locking an alarm an optional extra in Japan? Only reason I ask is because of the fob on my newest Zed... It looks kind of retro 90's era and is embossed with Nissan which kinda makes me think its original, although other than the arm and disarm buttons I am yet to figure out what the other 2 do.

After returning from a little jaunt down the coast, I got out and noticed my offside headlight was out. It's done this before but quite a while ago. Jiggled around with the ballast and connectors without turning them off and it made no difference. Turned the lights off for a short while and then decided to try them again - the headlight that was out, miraculously starts working again. Anyone else experienced this?

For the 25th Anniversary meet at Coventry, I produced a synopsis of the 300ZX development, production, sales and competition history. This information was displayed as four large format panels near the museum entrance for Club members and visitors to read. Since then I've used the same content as a small flyer to give to people who have expressed an interest in the 300ZX and the Club, most recently at the Beaulieu meet. I keep copies in the glove box to hand out as needed. The 4 sided flyer is printed A5 sized. A .pdf copy is available for download below. I hope you find it informative and useful. 300ZX 25th Anniversary Flyer.pdf

Really stoopid problem to have, done an engine swap while engine was out I resealed sump. cant remember if kept dipstick in or not but apart from that its been untouched. The dipstick comes out about 10mm and stops you can fully rotate the dipstick both in the home position and 10mm out position. I've tried to Yank on it to pull it out and it won't budge? Anyone any ideas?

Do all US engine parts still fit on a UK car, or more specifically Left hand drive cars and right hand drive cars? I'm looking at getting some parts from Z1, head gasket kit, and silicone hoses and such. but just thought I'd better check if everything is in the same place, connections to the heater matrix etc.

Hi Chaps. My Z steering wheel sits off centre whilst driving straight. Wasn't too fussed because I've got to change the TRE's and tension rod bushes so thought would sort by getting the tracking done when I've finished. However, whilst playing with Datascan, when I hold the wheel dead straight, the HICAS steering angle sensor shows out by a few degrees. Now I don't think tracking will sort this will it, because they'll just track the car with the wheel straight, but the HICAS sensor will still read out which I believe will turn off HICAS as it will read as constantly turning slightly? So, I guess my wheel as been removed and put back on wrong at some time? So do I…

With misfire been a regular issue I have to deal with when a nice zed cam in last week that had just had the plenum off for rocker cover gaskets at another garage I half expected to find a loose or bad connection on an injector or coil pack. On arrival the owner gave me some more info, the garage had tried to fix the misfire and even replaced a coil pack connector and injector connector a coil pack and spark plug but could get nothing on cylinder no 4. When driving the car clearly was missing and popping on over run which as least suggested fuel was getting injected!! So you can see from the picture a generally ok job from a non specialist garage doing the rocker …

Had a non turbo zed in for service and MOT etc. looked in good order until I held the steering wheel and it wobbled left and right and up and down and was not a nice feel when moving about let alone driving on the road. It had an after market Momo wheel and after a few frustrating moments with the ever so small bolts they love to use on steering wheels it took no time to find the problem. The after market boss was just wrong in many ways, it had been made to fit over the splines ( was tight) but the thread on the steering shaft passed though it too far and there was not enough thread to get the wheel tight so a spacer had been fitted and the spacer had …

Hi all, Both the leather seats are electric in my zed and fully operational. The passinger seat is like new and the drivers as to be expected is showing wear but is still in great condition with no holes or tares! What are they worth? From what I understand passinger electric seats are quite rare? Thanks Dan

Right everyone, what are the top three best and worst things you have ever done to your Zs? As a fairly new owner I'm hoping to learn from other's mistakes and pick up a few useful ideas at the same time. Hopefully this will help anyone else new to the world of the 300ZX! Stefan

Does anyone have any experience of Keith Michaels for their Zed insurance? I'd never heard of them but a google search brought them up and at the moment they are my lowest quote so tempted to go with them. Initial sales service seems good but then sales always is. Any feedback good/bad?

Later this week im preparing to take out my knocking engine and was considering putting my old NA engine back in for now, although its been stood a couple of years outside, but covered, so im not too hopeful of its internal condition sat so long with the oil drained. So my alternative should i need, is to Take the TT engine out of my UK project and TT the NA, but as im going to save time and use the NA loom, what do i do with the boost hoses, without a boost controller. I know it will be something like 6psi untouched, its just that i may not have time to get one sorted if i do decide to go this route. Obviously a fair bit of TT stuff will need to convert over to the …

Hi all Need some help here .. went to fix my window slider bolt problem today and found its the actual nylon washer that's worn as when I click it back in it pops back out when it's push fully up against the Targa. So I need a new pair of nylon washers. Any idea where to buy them? During this process some woman decided to reverse over my door card buckling it , and breaking the plastic air vent, and now has chips all out of it where it scraped along the pavement :( so I need a passenger door card anyone? I also need one of these. As mine is badly worn and split. Many thanks

Just a handful of pictures from Beaulieu. We drove down in brilliant sunshine and arrived at Beaulieu in the pouring rain. Helpfully it quickly cleared up and went on to become another blistering hot day. Thanks to Simon for organising the meet and to everyone who attended and made it such a great day at a lovely location. Was suprised and delighted to make the shortlist for the "People's Choice Award", and even more so when another Z32 from the Club was also chosen! Good job you passed that MOT Hellraiser! In the end the award went to a purple R33 GTR... In the afternoon I managed to park up next to Simon's car (in this month's shade of white) and took thes…

So, after two years I finally started up my project build, idling was a little rough, but she started, and the rear hubs were turning, so overall things are good. :) However, I've used a TT shell, and put my NA engine in it, so switched from an NA clutch cylinder, to a clutch booster. I was expecting the clutch pedal to firm up when the engine was running, but it requires very little pressure to push it down, there's pretty much no resistance. There doesn't seem to be a loss of fluid, so I was wondering if my vacuum connections may be at fault. There's no difference to the clutch pedal with the engine running, or not, feels the same. I have two…
