This is probably aimed at anyone who has done a complete engine strip down or has the indepth knowledge lol, but as i have a badly knocking cam on the right bank, im assuming oil starvation and as such is likely down caused by a blocked check valve or oil squirter up to the heads from the block. Options im looking at, i need to know if the check valve can be cleaned in situe, ie head off and access to the block or whether it has to be changed, or my easier option would be some sort of detergent to clean or unblock it and i can just change the cams and lifters without taking the heads off. Opinions or advice please. Cheers :thumbup:

Hi. Purchased some metal door lock mechs to replace the broken brittle plastic ones. Fitted them fine but now can't get the door Handel to close fully. Been at this hours now. And even tried copying the other door but now that's gone the same. Seems to be something to do with the big metal arm which attaches itself to the Handel.

Well I took the green zed down to Jeff in mid-march for some niggling problems to be fixed, oil leak, ‘clunk’ in the transmission, noisy lifter and asked him to have a look at how bad the rust was that was starting to bubble through the rear quarter panels and especially some that had come to light when having the arches rolled for the Rota wheels. There was also some scuffing on the nearside rear where a tyre had blown and nearly come off the rim, and the paint had been scraped off the front nearside wing by a supermarket trolley. Hi all and thanks for taking your time to look :) I bought a kit car a month ago which would barley run (3000 turbo engine). Now it wont start at all. ive changed fuel lines/pump/spark plugs/coil/afm/crank sensor/injectors and even the god damn loom. I have a spark on all six plug's but it does look a little week. I also checked voltage to coil and im getting 12.8v if I remove the afm and all the pipework I can get the car to fire with easy start or spraying petrol in , so to me it seems like an injector issue? which brings me to the injector sockets, if I check continuity on both ports to the earth of the car I get earth on both sides. which I presume is switc…

I use my 300 only for trackdays, i have the ac deleted, but the fan is still in place i beleive it will come on if the car goes to overheat is there an easy way to get the fan to run constantly without having to rewire it to a switch? Would like to use it for added cooling better safe than sorry any easy way to do this?

We have about 20-25 cars from 350z-club, about 3 or 4 from Zclub.net and about 25 from here (some however aren't with their cars). Please see list below. Going to start the plans to get the Zed back on the road, still haven't decided if the head needs to come off yet, but the plenum does to fix the water leak. so seen as though it's coming off, it's not gunna go back on the same. but struggling to decide what to do with it, The obvious choice would be to polish it, or even powder coat it chrome, but I'm worried it would be a Tw*t to keep clean. So I've thought maybe a nice black, grey or even a red. along with a contrasting rocker cover and throttle cover, and maybe timing belt cover. But can't decide, need some inspiration. Hi I had to remove the TPS yesterday and to set it correctly I used a guide on Google although it wasn't very well explained I think I've managed to do it. But just wanted to check if anyone knew the issues if it wasn't set up correctly. Car idles just below 1000. And seems to change gear ok. Is there a better guide elsewhere or do you think it will be ok?

Some of you already know or had seen pics of my Z posted, ever since I got this Z I´ve always focused on keeping it clean and all original as possible, well some folks have been lately rounding my mind into fitting a set of 99 JDM Tail lights, they state car will look much more fresh and new look. Things is...am I the only one who thinks that green cobalt with the stock lights also look beautiful?? or am I going nuts? need some true sincere advice here, when I look at the car I still see it beautiful even with the original stock tail lights. So question is..should I spend my $$$ on the set of 99 JDM Tail? or should I keep the actual stock ones? Thanks folks…

Hey guys. The below photos show blocked vacuum pipes in my engine bay. Also the afm connecter has been disconnected at the filters. There is no manual boost controller anywhere in the car. The pipe with the red stopper in the end is the same on both sides. What's your thoughts, remapped ECU? Car is not registered yet so not driven properly to check boosting levels.

finally finished the decat install and in process i found this [ATTACH=CONFIG]81332[/ATTACH] the blue pipe is capped and above it is a metal pipe which has nothing on it and in between the two a black pipe which has been cut. anyone know anything about them or what delete they are associated with? thanks

how do i upload a very short film on here as a link or somthing? i bassically i have a six min film of somthing i want to share with you guys ,i have it on my hard drive on this laptop im using now and also have it on a memory stick. Started to fit the exhaust and first problem is this not sure if it's meant to be there or not the middle piece that's bolted down I think it's unnecessary as the oem one is one big opening as opposed to the two individual puppies on the decats. I could be wrong though. Any ideas so I can get this done today thanks

Hi all, I'm trying to sort several issues on my car at once and the gearbox is still holding onto the gears for too long. Here's where I'm at at the minute. I've now sorted the idle out so it's idling at the correct rpm. I've again reset the TPS with the help of JeffTT's guide so that is now set at 0.46. The car is still holding into every gear until 3500 rpm when under acceleration regardless of speed or amount of acceleration. If I take my foot off the accelerator for a few seconds then the car will change up to the appropriate gear. When I first set the TPS it was originally sitting at 1. I set it to 0.46.
