Had a call from a very excited daughter saying she had just seen a Zed while on holiday in Birdham going into a shop car park (Nisa). She said it was grey but could have been silver.

Engine that is lol, After my dilema thread, i decided to replace both heads on the NA, with a set im getting from Russ (Veilside) which have new valves, head gaskets etc... and after spending a good few hours on it today i stripped it down to the point of getting the heads off. Now with the rocker covers off all 4 banks, when i rotate the engine, i cant see if oil is getting up to the rockers, although there is very dirty oil in all 4 and ive noticed in most i can depress the lifters slightly, which would have been giving me the tappety sound, but nothing jumping out at me that is giving the really bad rattling/tappety noise when the engine is running. The only wa…

When I stripped my zed a part of the upper steering tube was damaged so I simply cut it. Never noting that the rubber pipe is captive to the main pipe I now need a replacement. Below is a pic of the damaged pipe which is now about three inches too short to reach the pas pot : The question is - how can I make a repair of this pipe ? Can I cut the top of the metal and put a jubilee on and replace the top rubber part ? Can I replace the full pipe with rubber ? Whats the reason for the big elaborate route of the pipe rather than just going direct ? Any help on this would be great. Cheers

On my MOT the Advisory Items listed, 1. Offside Steering rack gaiter deteriorated. 2 & 3. Offside & Nearside Track rod end ball joint dust cover deteriorated. 4. Slight play Offside rear steering arm (HICAS) As they are replaced by size, can someone tell me what size fits the track rod ends & gaiter ? & I take it there must be some wear in the steering arm bushes? (HICAS) where can I get from if this is the case. Jeff at Zworld can not help with the dust covers. Cheers Art

If you fancy a zx with 4 micelen piolts tyres this is the car for you!! Don't forget 615 injectors brand new which should arravie enemy time!! lol. Don't think it belongs to anyone on here and if it does, my apologies, made me laugh! Someone surely can bring this back to its glory. Not much to do really if no major mechanical issues http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/nissan/300zx/uk-nissan-300-zx-tt/2689237 and for the brave http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/nissan/300zx/nissan-300-zx-3-0-v6-targa-3dr-1-owner-fnsh-very-low-mileage/2660938

Fisrt, off, sorry, this wasn't meant to be so long, but I'm seriously pi**ed off, and de-motivated. So, I've been rebuilding / transplanting my Zed for over two years now, and was on track to finish next year...and was seriously looking forward to it. I've had no major issues being motivated, looking forward to the end result, slowly fixing up and transplanting parts, making sure everything is greased or painted accordingly to avoid any future rust, I've spent a lot of time doing this. New parts, and good used parts have been used accordingly, I was trying to build to last for a very long time, out of the best parts possible. The first link in my signature will …

Well finally got my engine from my old car into my new one, which I haven't driven for 3 1/2 years lol. Been a long process, engine transplant, manual to auto conversion, some deletes Aircon, AVI, Carbon Canister. FPR also plenium water bypass and recon turbo's and front mount intercooler. It was very reluctant to start was turning over nicely though, I checked for fuel and was present, than I checked spark, no spark on cylinder one but was now popping and burbling? then I sprayed crank angle sensor, maf, throttle position sensor and pyu with contact cleaner, and off it eventually went :D very pleased. Now it's only on 4 (I think?) and properly sounds worse than a S…

Hey all I finally got my plates last week and due to work commitments only managed to drive the car properley this weekend, so what do I think. Well I have owned some fast cars in my life. 400HP MR2 Turbo and 450HP R32 GTR are the quickest and the 300zx is roughly 320HP so I am told. When I climbed into the Z the snail like feel of the cabin cacooning itself around me makes me think I am in something special. All buttons, switches are neatly presented with ease of access and I am sitting surprisingly low. Buddy Club coilovers make it feel like a go kart. I start her up and the noise makes me grin, the rumble is addictive, unfortunatley for my neig…

Hi can anyone help me find out what brand these skirts are? I really want a set of Kaminari skirts but they are becoming hard to buy due to the twinz kit's. Given up on the twinz stuff as they don't help themselves trying to buy the parts either out of stock or the suppliers don't reply to emails.

Anyone done this, what are the pros and cons, on the motorway at 70 mph it feels like it's over revving at 3000 rpm, I know this is the correct rpm, when it's doing 40 mph 3rd is to low and 4th is to high, they have made our local roads 30 and 40 mph speed limit backed up by speed cameras, this is from 60 mph.:xxx: Any ideas/comments welcome. thanks Paul

Any idea how the hell you can remove these plugs from the metal frame? I can see there is a small "tang" holding the plug in place, but how does it come off without breaking the plastic runners on the reverse of the plug?

Which exhaust gives the nicest tone? And how much difference do they make to power - negligible or material? Also where does one go to source these? First time I've considered a new exhaust so completely clueless! Iv'e got the SE pipes on mine that came with the car but I've never really liked the sound. A bit too quiet for my liking unless I'm gunning it and even then I don't really fancy the sound they make. Can only remember FunkySi's Veilside pipes and they sound pretty good. What'e everyone else running?

Hi everyone, Just got back from another great Zedfest. Anyway, the event has never really took off as far as the 300's are concerned. And given that in my opinion we have the best Z car I keep wondering why we don't have a bigger following at this event so I wanted to ask for everyone's input. Please be honest and even feel free to say if you've never heard of it as the promotion side could be 1 of the reason why not many 300's go. I'm really wanting to know what would make you think, actually that event sounds good. Your ideas can be as hairy assed as you like. For those that don't know this is held at Sherbrooke Scout Camp near Nottingham. For examp…

Collected my car on Friday having had the engine rebuilt by Jimmer at PowerZed. Jimmer's done loads of work including a new wiring loom, bigger injectors, bigger SMIC's, 535 turbo upgrade, forged pistons and loads more. Now she purrs like a pussy cat and is silky smooth. I cant wait to get it back to Jimmer & Noel AKA Turbonoz to get it mapped. Just going through the run in process and we are good to go. Jimmer has been great, he's kept in touch and has given me great advice and as a bonus he's a top bloke. I have spent the weekend driving around (she's been off the road for 7 years) with a massive smile on my face. Cheers Jimmer I cant thank you enough :)
