Hi guys, Okay please forgive my naivety, but could someone please explain how people use boost controllers? Controller in question is the greddy profec 2. If I had a map done on the car, would this be just tweaking the greddy to get the right boost, gain etc for the desired bhp, or would it be creating a base map and the using the boost controller on a daily basis to tweak or change the amount of boost running?... Kind of confused as to how it is used!! I would imagine that when someone says the car will be mapped, they mean the mapping is done using the greddy and then you leave the controllable where they are for good? Im just discussing the hig…

Hi guys, this is my first post but i've been reading the forum for quite a while. Well, as the title says, i'd like to do a few swaps. I have 300zx tt manual road car, but now i'd like to built a 300zx drift car out of 2 cheap cars i bought. The first, is the donor car, a 92 300zx na manual, the timing belt broke on the last owner 6 months ago, but the car had been lying up for 2 years before hand, it's rough but i bought it cheap, for parts, for my road car, if i ever needed them. I've now bought a cheap 94 300zx tt auto, the car is in fair enough condition, the sill's are a bit rough (rotten) and a few cosmetic touch ups needed. I'm not really bothered about th…

The refurb place can't do the red ring, I would consider new nuts, and the centre caps don't come in red and the current spray job is flaky. The brakes are black, what do we think?

While I was trying to find some parts for my S6, I fell across a couple of on-line catalogues. (I think Courtesy also have one) http://www.online-parts.co.uk/nissan/index.php http://nissan.epc-data.com/ Also found this site to order from Japan http://www.amayama.com/ Personally, I always use http://www.MJPAuto.com for preference and Forum Traders but for one particular thing had drawn a blank so since that site and the name Justin Karow had come up on other sites eg http://www.aus300zx.com I thought I'd give it a try. Everything worked, he searched the part nos, paid with PayPal in GBP, posted on the 1st Sept in Japan and arrived on the 3rd. Might be worth…

This may be one of the least relevant posts to forum members but having tracked it down, I had to tell someone! Nissan redesigned quite a lot of stuff for the Series 6 "last year" 300ZX eg brake master cylinder, lightened pulley etc etc including that bloody passenger window switch. (A lot of effort for only 1,000 cars or so in production, but there you go.) After 9 years or so of making switch surrounds that break, did the redesign make any difference? Nope. So out with the araldite and bodge. That didn't work. But a quick magnifying glass found the part number 25412-VP000 and email to MJP found that: 25412-VP000 - the plain one as fitted 25412-VP010 -…

Selling/breaking my pearlescent white Z. Engine and gearbox is mint. Few expensive mods. She is pretty badly damaged. Apparently you have to be subscribed to post ads. (And I'm not gonna pay £20 to a forum I'm only gonna use once) so contact me on xxxxxxxxxx if you're interested. If this gets taken down..again I'll post an add on eBay and other sites so look out for it. Cheers.

Right, had to get a replacement engine to go in mine after it decided to eat piston rings on number 6 cylinder, new is ok, but i still need to sort the timing out after my last engine ate the timing light, it comes up to temp and holds its temp lovely, no knocking or strange noises going on and the compression results before i got it, where averaging 155 on each cylinder. its had a nice fresh oil change with brand new oil filter Now the smoking issue, when i first started it, it had a bit of blue tinted smoke but after awhile that cleared off (burning crap off the turbos id put on) you can get in and drive it around and it wont smoke, not even under heavy boost, but …

Hey guys, need some help with my 300 tt my car started to overheat one day whilst driving when I pulled over on my drive there was water all over on the road. had it checked by my mechancic and confirmed my radiator needed replacing. i bought a standard radiator through ebay recomended by a club member. after having the radiator replaced and running the engine whilst parked one of the hose pipes connecting the radiator to the engine cracked and statted to steam. the mechanic cut the cracked side and placed it back and the same problem repeated. i had the thermostat removed and checked and it was all clear. the mechanic left the car running and there wa…

Hi guys I have a 1989 z32 tt with an intermittent brake problem. I have d2 380mm 8 pistons on the front and 330 4 pots on the rear. I am using dot 5 brake fluid and have a firm brake pedal, however every now and then (we are talking a once a week event) when I brake the brake pedal will go to the floor with no resistance at all. If I lift and brake again the pedal feel comes back but it's not a nice feeling. I don't know what the pedal was like before the brakes were fitted because it was stored in my garage for 7 1/2 years. Any help would be appreciated. I have read a post where someone else had the same problem (with the standard Nissan brakes) and they chang…

My cam belt has done less than 20,000 miles. However, it is close to being 10 years old! (car spent 4 years being welded on the drive) Is it likely to perish due to age as opposed to wear and tear? I guess these things may have a life span.

Tyre damage. With my numberplate being legally cheeky, I was checking my tyres to make sure I was well prepared for a roadside discussion with the fuzz when I saw this. :( what is going on there? Have I run over a beer can? I wouldn't be happy to continue driving with a back tyre like that!

Ok so before I changed my gearbox over I got a friend mechanic to plug the diagnosis machine he has, but he only had a 200zx code reader which did read all the gearbox info and the other engine codes what I'm wondering here is will this be a reliable source of data? As in can it give me incorrect readings if I were to run other diagnostic in the future?

I had my intake smoke tested a couple weeks ago, and found that my LH recirc valve was leaking. Also the vacuum hose to it had a leak. But there was a major amount of smoke coming out of the area, and I thought something else was going on. So I started testing my vacuum lines again. I found that the short 6mm hose from the left of the balance tube would not hold vacuum. It connects to a hardline on the engine, right next to the IACV/AAC, which goes to the front of the engine, then another 6mm hose connects to a hardline under the LH throttle hose, then to one of the ports marked "purge" on the carbon canister. A 4 mm hose connected to the port underneath the LH …

Hi I rarely come onto the forum these days but am interested as to one of the clubs top people ever finished that massive high power 300zx build. There was only one I can recall and others that have been on here will surely remember it. It was the topic of who has the most powerful Z cars many times. I don't think it was finished to the owners satisfaction a couple of years ago. Just interested in where that pretty amazing car got to and what kind of spec it ended up at? Can anyone point me in the right direction I'm not too familiar with the forum these days. Great to see plenty of Z enthusiasm still remains though.
