Just went down local Nissan parts department (not the one I normally go to) and asked for a new oil filter and sump washer ... They gave me this stumpy looking thing, shorter than the ones I fit in the past. I questioned if it was genuinely compatible for a VG30DETT and the counter clerk said it was ... I'm a little suspicious though. Can anyone confirm it is suitable? Don't want to fit it and put new oil in only to find out it's going to give me pressure problems ... Box only lists compatible engines of under 1.6L and years 86-88. Cheers ~Tom

As an excuse to get out of going camping at the Greenbelt festival with the wife and kids this weekend, I decided to go on a road trip. I had planned to do this last year with my eldest daughter but couldn't afford it and as I now have my own company, decided to do it this year. Up until 10am this morning, was still undecided where to go a) east cost from the wash upwards b) North Yorkshire moors around Harkerside / Hawes / Richmond or c) north Welsh coast and then south. I decided on Wales so am now in a small hotel in Llandudno on the sea front. Took 5 hours to get here but once I left the main roads had a great time going through the country lanes gettin…

Hi All, I have the D2 Big brake kit on my Z, and I need some replacement discs (rotors to be correct!) as mine were flagged on the MOT. Does anyone know of a decent supplier ? I can find a few but they all include the bells, which I don't need or want to pay for :) Alternatively do any other manufactures rotors bolt up to these bells ? Thanks All, Regards, Simon

Hi, I thought i'd start a build thread as a log of the journey with my import Z. Afetr a horrible accident in my previous car i borrowed a budget amount for a run around, but as i was missing my previous pride and joy i was browsing piston heads to see what i could save for. As many people will understand the feeling when you click on to a site and see the car you've always dreamed of owning going for the same price you would puut done on a shitter. I was very sceptical but took the gamble. The car only had 43990 on the clock when i bought it with a few niggles. I got a history of previous mot's (some japanese so have no idea what they say lol) and was told the previou…

It appears to be a family car show for Children in Need, last year raising £1.1m link provided. http://www.carfest.org/Content/Welcome-to-CarFest-South Some one might be interested and if yiu go let us know if it was good and it may be one to top on the Calander to arrange next year :)

Hi guys and gals. I have a problem and I'm not sure as to the cure. When idle the engine has started revving and falling like it's searching for fuel. Has anybody else had this? Does anybody know a cure or have an idea what is happening? All suggestions will be noted. Thanx

Ok. Bottom Speedo clock is off a UK 1991 TT. Top one is my 1991/2 Jap clock in kph. Trying to swap the two, but there are obvious differences in the connections...also, you may notice that the centre connection on mine only has 2x pairs of double contacts, whereas the UK one has 2x pairs of 3 contacts. Can anyone advise on fitting?

Lovely videos of Steve Millen driving his No.75 300ZX at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion in California, July 19, 2014. From 1990 to 1995, Millen drove the Twin Turbo 300ZX . The car dominated the IMSA in its GTO, then later GTS categories due to its newly designed chassis and engine. Millen would rank as the #1 factory driver for Nissan for 7 years earning two GTS Driving and two GTS Manufacturer's Championships. The biggest win for the race Z32 was the victory in the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1994. In the same year at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 300ZX ranked 1st in the GTS-1 class and 5th overall. So I know there are a load of oil threads on here, but what is the oil of choice for a rebuilt motor? Obviously 10w-40 is the recommended oil from Nissan, but on a fresh motor after the initial 1st change of oil will a good 5w 40 be ok? (Awaits Slickpete)

Hi everyone Had this problem for a while now just wanted to pick some brains out there. I have this drip which is slowly filling up my passenger footwell as you can see from the picture the drip is appearing from the passenger kick panel to the left of the glove compartment. I've so far removed the glove compartment and the panel to the left and the kick panel check targa drain and also ran a hose off the roof but no leal appears have fitted new nylon window washer so window is tight up against door rubber . And I've also removed the left skuttle panel but still can't find this drip. Any other suggestions chaps?,

Just have to say a big thanks to REDBARRON for selling me the missing piece of bling for my engine bay.......a lovely TOKYO AUTO slam panel. Its currently anodised blue but painted black on the visible side so going to strip the paint and see if I like the blue colour. If I don't my mate owns an anodising company so ill have it stripped and re done, probably have the hard pipes done to match too. Cheers buddy for helping me find more rocking horse doo doo. And by the way loved the Tokyo Auto rear strut brace fitted to your car fella it is cool as.

Right guys im after some feedback from people who have done this conversion. I am sick of driving my zed and it sounding like a local access bus with the whooshing sound from the fan. So all you out there with electric fans fitted how are you finding them, what size did you go for etc. YES I KNOW there are lots out there that will say stick with the viscous unit and normally I would agree but its a hateful piece of kit, I hate it and just want to see if I can get rid of it and replace it with a sensible electric conversion. Ive seen twin fan setups on here before so im sure that would be more than enough to cool my engine, I have an uprated ally rad fitted.

Hi, I have a set of Sparco/crimson Python/NSII call them what you like Alloys. Below are a Centre cap and nut cover, I have been trying to get more of each as I don't have a full set. Trouble is that they are as rare as rocking horse sh1t. Question is, is there anything else out there that might do the job off other wheels, ,or anything else, as I'm getting really peed orffffff rich

Having had a few runs in my Z over the past 3 weeks! When I go over a bump or uneven road surface, the rear of the Z seems to " twitch" ! or wonder!! Nothing going round corners, only going straight. Not all the time though, but definately there! I had one of my HICAS arms replaced on the MOT only last month. 1991 Jap TT (nothing loose at the back by the way)! Any ideas from you guys would help. Thinking rear steer HICAS playing up but how?

Hi guys i brought a uk oil cooler for my slicktop but now I've changed my mind and brought a 13 row toyo sports oil cooler one of them blue coloured ones .The seller has told me it uses AN 10 fittings I'm worried if I buy these 90 degree alloy fittings that the hose diameter will be larger than the factory metal lines near the rad where the factory cooler was fitted ,so do I rip out and block off the factory metal lines and re plumb braided lines into my aftermarket sandwich plate as I'm sure it has 2 take off points on it blocked up at the moment .Has any one Fitted one of these coolers also does anyone know what size internal hose AN10 fittings take and what size hose …

Hi One of my water pipes has burst (fortunately while the engine was hot, but not running) Not only does it appear to be a seriously difficult hose to get to, I,m having difficulties identifying which hose it is in the parts diagram. when looking from underneath the car, up between the engine and the bulkhead you can see a small water hose that connects to the left Hand side Turbo. Does anyone have any idea which hose it is on the parts diagram, or what the part number is? As always, any help is greatly appreciated. Maz
