My car has a genuine new nissan thermostat, uprated large radiator, topped with watter wettter, but upon driving 10 minutes or so the running temp on the aftermarket gauge, sits between 83 and can rise to up to 98 if accelerating on and off for long periods, generally it rises to 93 ish after a while of acceleration, but on normal driving stays steady between 82- 87.... now are these temps ok? and at what point should i be worried its getting too hot? i do have the 1.3 bar rad cap which in theory raises the water boiling point to 130. but i just want to keep the engine safe.

I think the answer is yes, but I need it confirmed by someone. I know the drive shaft is a different size, but have my original NA hub, with dead bearings attached. I recently did my Galant bearings, cut them off and hammered new ones back on, so plan to do the same with my Z bearings / hub. So, can anyone confirm if the bearings are the same on the NA / TT? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WHEEL-BEARING-KIT-REAR-NISSAN-300-ZX-1990-1994-FBK595-/310727433460?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3A300+ZX&hash=item4858cc5cf4 Cheers!

I can't get my clutch to bleed and it's really grinding me down... Getting to the cov meet is looking less and less likely now :( I can get it bled up with no air coming out and it'll go into every gear, then when I start the car the pressure has gone and can't select any gears. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way of finding what might be letting in air? How is starting the car affecting it?

i have a jap import and was wondering if there is a way of modding the rear light panel to have fogs? i see there are 2 clear lights either side of the '300zx' and im guessing the bottom 2 are reverse? do any of the other spec cars have fogs in that rear panel or would it need modding? thought maybe the top 2 could be used for fogs

So if someone was goint to replace there turbos, and rather than a straght replacement, and apart from the stagerd oil step seals and the 360 thurst bearings. What would be a reliable tub that will give a little more . not talking about cranking up the boost to mega high numbers and melting engines, just a good solid tub thats an deff inprovment over the standered but must bolt on without complications, and yes the turbos only going to be producing some good figures with uprated breathing and cooling mods aswell. looking for a reliable 400 plus whats good for a sound engine thats also not going to break the bank. thanks guys.

Hi all, I bought the zed a couple of months gauged not really paid much attention to the engine bay. I noticed a few extra wiring looms but nothing stood out that needed attention. Today i was I went to change over my battery stay for a shiney new one. 1. I found what looks like a boost hose not connected to anything...possible a removed boost gauge? 2. Beside the battery I found what looks like a relay or solinoid...I've traced the cable's 1 set goes to the water pipes that looks like a sensor was installed. The other set goes across the bulkhead towards the boost solinoids and window wiper relay that looks like it goes to the wing. I'm guessin…

Hi Guys, I've been having little niggly problems with idle/stalling/hesitation.... I've seen the threads about a whole load of problems regarding this. Now, as I can make out there are quite a few adjustments that can be made which will effect the idle rpm, for instance, tps, throttle body balance even the cable adjuster, but what I would like to know is this, in what order do you make all these pertinent adjustment to set the idle, I have been going round in circles adjusting, re-adjusting, I cant seem to nail it down. So can someone tell me in what order I make them and how to zero everything at the start. Rich ps just as I thought I knew all the ways to…

As you know, my Z is currently back in the bodyshop having things done to it. It may come as no surprise that I have elected to go with the moustache again. I have chosen a very nice metallic grey. My problem with this however is that the fog lights and indicators are a bright colour and don't blend in with the moustache. Now half the problem could be solved with UK corner blanks. These look really nice, BUT the lenses are very different to the series 2 indicators which match the fog lights. So instead of using UK corner blanks drilled out, I have attempted to 'tone down' the contrast and bring them more in-line with that of the headlights and by default, they'll als…

Hi Guys, I have just had to open a new account while I contact a mod to get my dormant one reactivated. I have had a 91 Z for 9 years and its been under cover for a year or two, Finally give it a spray a new engine and a mot about 6 months ago and shes back on the road., sort of. On sat driving at around 40 the engine revved high and lost all drive in every gear, No reverse either. First thought linkage but no thats fine. Will go into park and lock up but nothing in any other gear. I have a good read through the fsm and dont think its anything electrical, Read the gearbox ecu and all clear on the codes so thats working. I dropped the oil pipe to …

In preparation of my new wheels arriving I think I need to order some adjustable camber arms for the rear. My question is in order to dial in a little extra camber do I also need to order the small straight arms (rear traction arms?) or can I get away with just the camber arms? thanks for any input!

HI All, As some of you may know i've been having a bit of bother with my Autobox holding gears too long. It's holding every gear to 3500rpm before changing under normal driving (slight jerk from 1st to 2nd). Also, the car idles at 1000rpm under stress (in drive) and 1500rpm in park. I've also noticed that when i take my foot completely off the accelerator at any rpm between say 2000 and 3000 the car will change up a gear. Just wondered at what rpm the autobox should be changing up and what everyones idle speed is? I can't remember what it was on my last one as i never had any issues so never bothered to notice. Peter

Finally got the autobox changed over for my manual in my '99 spec. Not driven it since the tax run out in march so really looking forward to getting it on the road. It was a bit of a pig to do on the drive but managed it over two days with Hollings one day and Mikey Bean today. Without help from those guys the car would still be sat unusable but it's now complete apart from a clutch hose I'm waiting for, then it's MOT time and fingers crosses ready for the Coventry meet.

HI All, I was trying to get one problem sorted at a time but with the imminent bad weather looming over the north east thought i may need to post up about this one now. When i bought the car i noticed that i couldn't get the air to blow no matter on low or high setting. Now my last Zed was a 1995 and had the twisty knob for the blowers and slider for the temperature. Now with my new car being a 1991 it has the full climate thing going on. It worked once when i started the car after being for Petrol for a few seconds then stopped and again at another point for a few seconds and stopped. Now it just won't blow at all. I don't know much about this setup but…
