My car failed it's MOT on rust, I went elsewhere and it failed again. I had always planned to do a full on, 'glass out' respray at Bodymech probably next summer but can't really afford it at the minute. The car is out of MOT and it is here... Insurance is up in 2 weeks, I am skinto because I just got the mechanical refresh done (K-Sports, Clutch, Cooling) This was because I could only drive it very gingerly as it was, the brakes were crap and the clutch was slipping. But now, it is knackered. I can afford the insurance I planned for that, but any big repair and we are into tins of beans and "please Mr bank manager..." I feel awful, I feel l…

Hi guys decided to fix this pesky issue. Regardless of the temperature set my car ALWAYS blows hot air, even when the blowers are off hot air radiates into the cabin, its fine in winter but on a hot day it gets a bit annoying. It's almost as if there is a valve that is broken so the heater matrix is constantly being supplied with hot coolant from the engine, is that possible? my Ac compressor and rad etc is all deleted but theres no reason it shouldn't be able to just blow cool air if you see what I mean, like a non AC equipped car. Where do I start?

Still have this leak in the passenger footwell just in front of the ECU. I have. Inspected the door seal which is fine and also checked all Targa drain holes which run clear. Used a hose with a gentle run of water from the passenger Targa water comes out under bottom of wing. ( Targa drain). Still cant see where it's getting in. Was wondering if anyone has had problems where the battery tray is?

my TT has a habit of squeaking at the slightest sign of damp, drizzle or rain. Changed out all brake pads, removed ac compressor...no joy. Any ideas? Also, read somewhere that the pad shims are not always required? Is this true?? I've put Euro Carparts Pagid pads on...with greased shims.

Well after fixing the headlight issue (yep third fuse, top row, footwell fusebox as predicted), managed to run out of petrol on the drive to the petrol station going up a hill and then a loose undertray i had to fix on the motorway - i finally reached the MOT station in Derby after a very nervous drive waiting for something to go wrong. The car flew through its MOT with just a comment on the pitted discs :) Managed to grab the tax on the way back then didn't get chance to drive it again till yesterday. Spent saturday afternoon swapping the matt grey bonnet/nosepanel for the gloss ones off my V8 project. Unfortunately time hasn't been kind to either the car or …

For this that know me , they will know this year has not been a good year with the Zed, all last night however was well, engine knock had been resolved and the car was performing well. Too well it would seem because this morning the ****er decided it was time to no longer change up from second into Third or engage overdrive, pulling away from a dead stop needed lots of revs and time enough to grow a beard, now at xmas time i had a full service on the box including new filter so i know their is no need to change that. i guess its new box time unless there is a fuse i can check , raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Hi All, After a bit of advice on this................ Got my new Yellow Zed home today and there have been a few issues. Firstly, the Automatic gearbox is holding first geart for a lot longer than it should and then shunts slightly into second. Not sure if its holding onto the other gears longer too, don't think so though and they all seem to change relatively smoothly. Secondly, On the way back there was a massive rattle appearing from the back and steadily getting worse. Managed to get it home, Parked it up and found that several of the studs had sheared off and the nuts were floating around. It's amazing that the wheel didn't just fall off. …

Time to put the z back on the road so looking for insurance... Aways used Houghtons but they stopped dealing with grey imports, moved to footman james, they went daft money but blamed my wifes conviction for using her phone even though they insured it the year before with that conviction declared, moved to Arian Flux but their price went up even though nothing changed for me and the z did less than 500 miles in the year... so... who's using who? I have a JDM NA Auto and I'm very old lol :) Thanks in advance Steve

Hi all, Apologies if someone has already explained this on this forum but I couldn't find any specific help... Basically my fuel pump is knackered and I've bought an Aeromotive Stealth 11142 340lph one to replace it. When it came to replacing it, however, I noticed that it is physically much smaller than the OEM one and the OEM one also has a damper on the top, so I have some questions for anyone who has installed one on their car: 1) Is it okay to bypass the damper and plug the Aeromotive straight in where the OEM comes off? 2) If I bypass the damper, the Aeromotive will be sitting higher in the tank than the OEM was - has this been an issue for you…

H Guys, while changing my front pads this ring dropped out, it seemed to be inserted between the hud and disk, I couldnt get it back in without taking the disk off so I thought I'd check out how the other side was done but there wasn't one??? Haven't taken the back wheels of yet but if it has the same unbalanced situation could this be cause of the vibration that was diagnosed as propshaft issue? Thanks Steve

After 12 months delay the car is taking shape again, lots of crap to clean from the bodyshop and lots of missing little bits and bobs! But I'm happy with the way it's taking shape, liking the rear end to. The front pic looks odd but the car is white but light was fading.

Finally finished the system install today, just carpet on rear seat to fit and drop in false floor. Took me a good few man hours to fabricate and fit all this, fitted dynamat sound proofing throughout boot rear quarter panels and door skins, the difference is unbelievable! Sounds so solid and quiet now, road noise dramatically reduced. A few pics below. And the roof still fits in the boot too!

On my way back from Powerzed I stopped off on the M1 for a "break" and to take the roofs off. A guy comes over and starts blathering about the car, how he liked it and needed to get his back on the road.. Only turned out to be Sir Mixlaot, the Guy with the Tommy Makkinen.. spoke loads over PM but never met.. so excited I never asked his name, just called him Sir.. LOL... Good news is he has an understanding Wife and we may see the car back on the road soon....

Short cut of pictures from damage to fix below, this year has been a back to back sill welding marathon, this is an area that ALL owners need to check very thoroughly now, the one in the pics had side sills fitted and he was blissfully unaware until an eagle eye MOT tester looked down the end, lucky they were not blended in so a few self tapers later were off to reveal all, the other side was as bad and also inside the floor by the seat belt fixing!!
