At long last I have The Beast back on the road. Wonderful to drive it again having suffered a Citroen C5 estate for the last six months. It's had all its belts changed and a new water pump and feels and sounds luvverly :) Also, I've found a wonderful and very reasonable mobile mechanic who did all this work for me. He's in Northwood, Middlesex. I'd had trouble until now finding someone good to work on it, so a wonderful find. If anyone in the area needs details, give me a shout.

SO needing a new clutch and the budget is about £400. What's people using out there and what's it costing. Not doing excessive speeds or any track usage but would like one that will last its time.

So with a potentially mega meet at Coventry I thought i might look back to the last time the club excelled itself?? So.... indulging in a little bit of reminising... Were you there?? Have you still got the car?? Etc Etc. There are a large number of historical threads about the Ferrybridge meet. Here is one......................... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?68110-Ferrybridge-today&highlight=Ferrybridge It was an unlikely setting but it seemed to catch the hearts and minds of a lot of members at the time. Feel the love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For some strange reason I was thinking about this the other day. Obviously most of us have an alarm/immobiliser etc but does anyone do anything else to keep the cars safe For example, I was thinking, would it be a good idea to remove the odd fuse so the car wouldn't start and things

Just doing some last minute checks before the Coventry show, so decided to take a little run up the by-pass. Everything was great until I came to slow down from about 80mph to take the exit. Symptoms are vibration and wheel wobble from the front end and transmitted through the steering wheel under heavy breaking. I must be getting 20mm clockwise and 20mm anti-clockwise movement in the steering wheel. Very unnerving to say the least. Car felt very skittish. Under normal low speed braking all appears to be smooth. (Only just passed MOT as well!) Where should I start to look? Things I can eliminate are.. Wheel balance. Warped disc's Faulty…

For anyone who is thinking of joining this forum please please know that this club has single handedly helped more people sort out there zx than anywhere else you could go. The advise you can find on here is invaluable in helping keep your motor on the road. Just like any other place the will always be people who do/don't always get along but will still try to help out where they can. I owned my zx for over 8years and this without doubt was greatly due to the help and advise and huge generosity found by the members on here. So even if your just thinking of purchasing your first zx or whether your just finding the club on the Internet it costs nothing to join up…

Hi All, My Z has D2 big brakes on the front, braided lines and everything else stock. The problem I have is the pedal feel, there is a lot of travel before the brakes pick up properly, and decelerating from warp speed I can hit the floor with the pedal and still not get the full effect of the brakes. I have changed fluid, and rebuild the MC but I feel the correct solution here is a bigger / higher displacement master cylinder - so my question is - does anyone know of an aftermarket or cross model swap I can do ? Searching only turns up "240sx brake upgrade 300zx mc" . dang silvia boys! Thanks, Regards, Simon

Hi All I know this topic has been covered and I've read as many of the old threads as possible but I'm still a bit stuck. I have a tapping noise that is present all the time from start (cold) to warm and appears to be at all rev ranges. It's not really that audible when the bonnet is closed but I noticed on the motorway last night that it has become very loud indeed. Especially audible during those 50mph average speed sections! I've read to check the VTC solenoids by unplugging them and to try additive to the oil and/or oil change altogether. The car is about due an oil change. However, I'm struggling to locate both VTC solenoid connections - I've only foun…

So during the strip down of my zed I removed the carbon canister. Im not planning on putting the one that was removed back in as the brackets were very badly corroded but was looking to replace it with one from a gtr. The GTR one is about half the size by the looks of it and has the exact same connections. Just wanted to check it would still work ok. I have thought about removing it completely but my series 4 has pipes that go places That don't match up to the removal guide and with removing the cats to I want to ensure it actually passed emissions tests on its next mot.

200 mile round trip today, motorway and b roads, nothing over 12km ph, all of a sudden I could feel heat when I stopped at traffic lights, temp gauge rising, lucky I was 1 minute from my fathers house, got there switched her off, and could hear the water boiling. I left it for 2 hours, opened the rad cap, put water in it took a lot, with some coming out on the drip tray, moved the car forward to a dty patch, left it 40 mins, went back out, ground dry, topped it up, this time it lost nothing, drove it home, 20 klms. Temp gauge never moved. Any ideas, I had forgotten the excitement of z driving ...... not

I have had what I think is a great idea :) My front grill is silvery metal painted black. It has obviously gone silver again and any painted metal will do the same. What if I added a touch of class (by "I", obviously I mean Darren) by using something like this instead. Please discuss, I don't want it to be a 'feature' just a pleasant surprise if anyone inspects it, a nice touch, something to make a petrol-head dip their neck in a car park, like when you spot an intercooler winking at you from inside the mouth of an mx5.

I bought a set of front track rods and ends from the zcentre last week. I went to fit them this morning and they don't have enough scope on them to the the wheel to line up as before. Even at the shortest they'll go. The front of the tyre points inwards. I'm thinking of taking the female threaded part of the rod end into work and making it shorter on the lathe or removing some of the threads from the track rod. Anyone ever had this issue and how did you fix it?

I have one of these somewhere from when I smoothed my bumper. I kind of regretted it after due to its rare JDM goodness. Obviously it would only be of any use to someone that has the option fitted already. Perhaps they have a mast that doesn't work or have always wondered what that button was for in the cab, but have had a bumper replacement/smooth. How rare are these and is there any value in it? Basically, is it worth me trying to find it lol

Hello. I've just purchased a FMIC with pipe work from a member on here. I'm very happy with it and installed it yesterday. During browsing the web last night I noticed a few posts in the Australian forum saying that using these front intercoolers blocks air getting to the radiator and can cause overheating and its recommended that aftermarket smic's are best fitted. Is this anything to worry about? Does anyone run a z32 with FMIC on? And do they have or had any problems? I do have a bonnet vent and vented nose panel which will allow more air to circulate.

Ok so i'm finally ready to tell my short story and put up my photo's of my wounded car been really depressed ever since the incident especially as wasn't my fault, It was about 2 ish weeks ago now and an early sat morning and quite wet a flash shower I had just come over a railway bridge single lane round a tight left bend in second started to accelerate and out of nowhere met a focus hurtling towards me middle of the road bearing in mind this is a back road not very wide and a slight bank to left and a drop to train tracks I instinctively swerved to miss the oncoming car clipped side I think front wheels dug in to the grass verge and car started to slide hit verge went a…
