Here's a pic of me fiddling with pipes this afternoon... driver's side. http://rides.300zx.co.uk/rides/1982/intake-wtf.jpg Two questions about the hose in my left hand (oo er), which was previously joined to a small pipe underneath the middle pipe on the right... (the top pipe is coolant, obviously) 1) It runs toward the back of the engine and disappears... by having a good nosey I can just see it joins some sort of t-piece. Is there ANY chance I'll be able to change this with the engine in the car and without a ramp? 2) Were the boost jets meant to be in this line? Because they were. been changing all my boost pipes think ive changed the ones with the mig tips in but cant find them in the old pipes am i being stupid or could they have been pushed somewhere steve

Anyone know what this is? Its on the bottom of the steering rack, and has anyone got one to sell? as the wires have come off mine!

My rad looked a bit low so I stuck in about half a litre of anti-freeze. I then ran the car in the driveway for twenty minutes or so and when it had cooled down (after reaching a stable temp and with heat coming out of the matrix) I checked and it needed another half a litre. I'm thinking air lock somewhere in the system. I've parked so that the rad is at the highest point of the system - are there any bleed valves or tricks I can use to ensure that I've got all the air out? Cheers.

as above, anyone done this.. is it a particularly hard / easy job to do! does it need to be on a rack or can i jack the car up and take wheel off and do it that way? any advice! cheers Matt

hi, everyone, there is another question for all of you again; :tongue: I haven't drive my z for about a week, and now I can't even start the engine, I tried to start it up by connecting the battery to another car's battery, but it seems useless, and nothing I could do with it, any idea? My heater matrix problem is now so bad it looks like my car is on fire when driving. Both windows are down and shes pumping out loads of evaporated antifreeze. I have been advised to try something called Novastop . It works by thickening up the coolant. Its supposed to work and dosent damage the internals like rad weld. Any thoughts?

Anyone know the correct procedure for bleeding the PAS, and what the nipple is for. It's next to the HICAS Solenoid (or the big space where mine was :) ) All I did was spin the wheel left to right loads of times and keep topping the fluid up.

Can someone reccomend some front pads,not too expensive but one's that don't squeak?????

Recently my car developed a bad creaking sound from the front drivers side, seems to dissapear on smooth roads at high speeds. I fitted poly bushes to the tension rods about 6 months ago, if they were starting to go, or tear, would they give a creaking sound ? Do you think it could be shock absorbers? Whats a good way to diagnose this sound ? Thanks John

Lent 2 of my old wheels to a mate to take his car into the garage (having smashed 2 of his own). I need to replace bulbs on both sides of the car for the Main\dip . Access is not easy and I am having big trouble getting the spring clip off .Because of the space restriction I cannot see how the clip releases . i have been trying to squeeze the two ends of the spring clip at the bottom of the rear of the light unit together but so far this has not released the bulb holder - do I need to do anything else - is it easier to take the light unit out from the front of the car ? if it is are the retaining screws underneath . Any help appreciated as I have spend more than an hour at it so far and feel such a prat because after the various jobs I have done on the car …

hey everyone, i finally got my hands on one of th beauties thanx to andytt and huge thanx to chunk for coming along to see th car with me. jus a few lil things i need to sort out on th car, dnt really matter how long it takes cos i wont be drivin it for a while. its a jap tt which has had th uk dials put on it BUT the reading on th speedometer is way out (approx 8-9 mph), do i need to get th dials recalibrated? iv got a rear fog which hangs under th rear bonnet like a honda prelude, id really like to have th top revers light on each side changed to fogs, is it a difficult thing to do yourself? wot would i need? anyone done it befor who could help me out? or…

I know I have used my z in winter and maybe that's why, but I was polishing it today and noticed how many minor but noticable stone marks there were over the bonnet. Basically it's got little marks all over. Is this 'normal' I don't tailgate, and I probably go a lot slower than a lot of folk. Is it just the colour of my car, or have others got this. I usually use Autoglym and the Clear Resin top coat, hoping that would protect the bonnet a bit more. They don't seem to be down through every layer of the paintwork, just grey little imperfections. I would get the bonnet repaired by Chips Away or someone, but it's only going to happen again, isn't it. Is no-one else…

Took her out this afternoon for a blast up the A1, and all seemed to be well. Untill some git in a Focus decided he'd just pull from the inside lane straight in front of me, toss** Then I let an artic pull out into the second lane, and this guy got away. Finally got past the artic, mistake letting him out, and floored it to find this Focus. Reached 120 reasonable ok, but then wouldn't go any faster :confused: . It was on full boost, but just didnt want to go any faster at all. By this time I'd past the Focus anyway, and my turn off was fast approaching, so didnt get another chance to test it again. to reset the ecu do you turn the screw on it and back after 3 seconds or do you have to disconect the battery for a few hours or do both also what sort of boost is safty boost (preasure) ? steve
