hi all, when my cars idling the drivers side exhaust note is real fluttery, kinda a flat note, but the other side is a nice deep note, as soon as you press the throttle it changes so there both the same note, this is starting to anoy me as when my turbo timer works and im walking away i can hear it very clearly, any thoughts as to what this could be or what i could adjust?????? 91 tt auto. straight through system (no cats) only back boxes. cheers Jim.

I've just spent an hour investigating a few mysteries on the new Z. (1990 import.) I'm hoping someone will recognise these mods... It seemed unusually feisty... and this is why! (Offside picture.) My central locking on my key thingy is not working! C/L still works with key. I have also noticed that when I set my alarm & c/l usually all my four indicators would flash once & doors would lock. Now when I set alarm & c/l only passengers side indicators front & rear flash once & doors do not lock! :confused: Where do I look, where are the fuses I need to look for, whats going on! I hate electrics. At least you can hit mechanical things with a hammer! Any ideas appreciated from my poor vague discription. Arthur

After all this talk on Wideband sensors etc thought i'd check out and see excatly what the LM1 kit was like, must say quite impressed with the quality of it all and it's contents when it arrived, so much so thinking of selling them. Would like to check it out on me motor, but alas i still don't have one :( But all in all, so far happy :) Cheers smithy

last night yellow 2+2 zed spotted in tipton heading towards bilston first one ive seen around here. think i saw a 300zx sticker on the quarter but i cant be sure as i was in a taxi going the other way about 8 15 it was :dance:

went through the drive im mcdonalds opened the window to pay and there it stuck pissin down at the time so i was well chuffed as you can imagine. it was makin a loud buzzing noise when you pressed the button so i grabbed the glass and helped it up then it shut. :mad: ok i thought i wont press it again(yeah right) as soon as the car got steamed up i forgot and pressed the button. it went down fine but the bugger refused to come up. after lots of presses the loud noise stopped and now there is only a click when i press the button :( i must have really wrecked it any ideas lads. how to get the door panel off would be a start :)

Hi Has anyone succefully colour matched for a Pearl White. I should imagine it would be quite hard to get a good match, what with 13 yrs weathering. It's is the bonnet that is a slightly different colour to the rest of the car. Haven't got a clue why but it must have been replaced at some point. Maybe accident damage!?. Cheers

Ello u lot, just picked up the ZX yest and wondered if u can gimme some tips / advice on questions i have! 1. where should the boost be reading on idle ? 2. is it very smooth or should there be noticeable boost from 2nd tubbie like my rx7 3. on startup this morning not as loud from outside engine but when in car can hear very loud tappety noise and when revved it goes up a bit 4. the water temp guage is kinda messed up, on journey home it warmed up and sat about right i woulda thought but then it started going wierd! it would move as i revved the car and hwen boosting home etc.. would sit on the cold nad maybe move up a bit if i let off? but i have an aftermar…

I'm thinking of buying a 300ZX but I've realised that I don't know very much about what to look for! I know that the standard engine is 3 litre but are they also V6 as standard? What's the book BHP before any mods? etc. etc. I've got about £6000 to spend so I realise it would be around a 90 to 94 plate; what do I need to look for to find a good one? OK, I spent a while reading up, looking in the papers, online ads etc, and I think what I want to do is import a Z. I want a Manual TT, 2+2 (got a little'un), Targa top, in Black or Silver, and I want low mileage, preferable below 20k just to annoy a mate who has an astra turbo (lol) with 21k on the clock. I'm willing to pay the going rate to get what I want, or maybe even a bit more for a good service ;) Can anyone recommend to me, preferably through personal experience, a high quality importer? I have a small hesitation when I try to pull away quickley. It only happens from idle ( like off the lights) or when in traffic. But it is not noticeable under normall driving conditions. Dont forgett I drive an Automatic N/A so it's not a problem with those Wizzzzzie things that you TT guy's have!! :tongue: Chris..

I Would just like to say Thankyou to Houghton insurance in Luton today for insuring My Z. I declared absolutely Everything to them below and there rate was £300 lower than any one else. you should at least give them a try. Car the other morning warmed up then when warm couldnt get to tick over - kept dying. Looked under bonnet and my TPS was loose - now sliding this back and forth as such changes the revs but Im sure there is a voltage on one of the wires to set it to. From what I remember someone said as a rough guide to set base you can switch ignition onand move it till you hear a click then move back slightly and tighten. Thing is I cant hear a click? I thought you had to have engine running then get .4v off one of the wires? Also car seems slightly lumpy when driving around - could this be related?

Just a quickie this one - are there any tricks to getting the door mirror appart without breaking the mirror glass in the process? I see there are some screws holding the casing together, and another screwhole in the bottom of the housing that the diagram shows a screwdriver used to remove the glass from the actuator. But it doesn't explain how... Thanks!
