I bought a normally aspirated 300 recently. The roads have been pretty slippery so it seems plenty quick enough. But maybe one day I'll want more power. I realise turboing it would cost what... £4K maybe? But I reckon nitrous would be more like £1K. Does anyone know if it's been done? can the engine and gearbox handle the extra power ok? Cheers folk

Hi all, I am still trying to crack this little problem with my new Zed. I have got wurring noises from the rear and vibrations coming through my seat. I have visited my local mechanics and he thinks it might well be a rear wheel bearing as the vibrations don't get any better when the car is put into neutral and no vibratations could be felt when I put my hand on the transmission tunnel. I was also told that I had had a new gearbox mounting bracket. Something else I know can be a cause of vibrations. This surely eliminates a dodgy mounting bracket though? The mechanic is sure it is a rear wheel bearing. I am not convinced though as I am not su…

After finally finding the faulty replay behind the main fuse caused the ABS/ HICAS lights to illuminate while drivinbg and would not allow the car to start, I noticed that while I was trying to determine the root cause of the problem, I found numerous components were sodden with water. All of the relays affixed to the back of the main fusebox under the dashboard had to be removed, the holders (which were contaminated with rust, green deposits, amongst other things) all had to be cleaned out, filed and restored to their former glory, along with the contacts on the relays. Other components examined during the investigation, like the starter relay inside the wheel arch …

Am going to lower my Z UK TT and have read that it would be wise to also fit adjustable suspension arms. Guess this would mean front and rear. Anybody know where i might get these for a reasonable price and has anybody fitted any? Your experiences will obviously influence my decision. Sorry for all the posts folks but thought best split up my questions.

Both front tiebar bushes are coming close to needing replacing so have decided to go the whole hog and replace all the bushes front and rear. Obviously i am wondering whether to upgrade to polybushes or stick to standard ones? Will also be doing a full suspension change at same time so consider that too. Links to sites also appreciated

anyone body know where i can access an online workshop manual for the UK TT. Preferably where i can download the info and print it out. Pukka Nissan would be nice so my local helpful all round good guy mechanic can study what he needs to do to change my clutch and other mods i am going to have done. For real this guy is the workshop manager at a main dealer(not nissan)having started at the bottom, and is going to work on my car at weekends using their equipment and his time for next to nothing. He is a really good mate and i need to repay him somehow. Anybody from the Isle of Man?He is going to race there this year in the sidecars and thought maybe i could arrange somethi…

After a couple of miles driving, i get an awful squeak from the front nearside hub, had the wheel bearing replaced a couple of weeks ago, and it stopped doing it for all of about 500 miles, now its back and louder than ever. It only does it at speeds upto 20 mph, and only after a few miles of driving , so i guess its something caused by heat, I know its nothing to do with the brakes as ive had the discs and callipers off and spun the wheel and it still does it. Can something else on the hubb be knackered causing it to eat wheel bearings at an alarming rate? Its going to the menders on thursday, any ideas of what i should get them to look at? bloody noise is…

Hi, just wondering why its recommended to change the water pump with a cam belt renewal? What do you look for to make you decide to change it if its a 'take a look' scenario. Reason is, i have a belt but some people say change the water pump. WHY??? thanks

Having read the guide on buying a Z it appears my car has a problem! :( When I accelerate the boost guage blips to -3 then goes up to +9 (normal) I did this about 20 times on the Mway yesterday and I got the same thing. On idle the needle sits at 0! When I take my foot off the accelerater after boost the guage reads -5 and the goes back to 0! remains at 0 on normal driving, again on acceleration the guage blips to - then to +psi. My engine runs smooth with no whines or funny noises, no smoke, no turbo noises, starts first time, oil pressure +50 running to +15 at idle. The guide says Ive got a problem! :( :( Engine replaced in Aug 03. I have had no problem…

I'm about to respray my 300ZX. I want to spray it purple, and I know that some (very rare) 300ZX's came out the factory in purple. Does anyone know the paint code for the purple 300ZX's, and even better, does anyone have any photos of the standard Nissan purple. Please email me some pics if you have some (geewhizz@onetel.net.uk) To give you an idea of how few came out the factory purple, I have seen approx 500 Z's, of which two were the Nissan purple. Any help much appreciated. Thanks Andy

Ok I think ive decided to go for a 300ZX TT over the Skyline GTS, However Ive just spoke to my local importers and they say they have had a few reliability problems with the 300ZX, but I figure no one is going to know better than everyone on this forum. So, has anyone out there had any problems with there 300ZX's, what should I look out for? Is one year of the model better than any others? (I want a manual one, without leather seats as well) Once again cheers in advance Wootley
