I've come to the conclusion that 25mm spacers on the front are a little... extreme... so I'm looking to get a pair of either 15mm or 20mm bolt-on hubcentrics to replace them. The problem is that my Team Dynamics alloys don't have any notches machined into the rear face of the mounting where the protruding wheel studs would sit. I don't really want to have to cut my studs down so the wheel sits flush on the spacer so I wanted to get peoples' thoughts on the idea of having an engineering firm machining the relevant holes into the rear of the mounting face on the front wheels! I can't stress enough that this wouldn't be me sat at home with a drill - these would be…

  4. Hey guys. What i need to know: Can I fit a Brake Master Cylinder (BMC) off a Skyline/S body to my car? Why: I need a none ABS BMC for my car, none ABS Z32s are rare and so are BMCs for them it seems The Reason for needing to know: Since removing my ABS and plumbing in my hydro I have really bad brake bias. I tried left foot braking last week while twinning and........... it didn't end well. I could fit an in-line bias valve. But this may be cheaper?

Right, thought I'd start this. As some of you may know my cars a bit broken at present and I have a pile of parts ready to fit that gets bigger without it making its way to the car. So lets start with what's up with the engine. Myself and gaz pulled the engine about two winters ago now, as one of the turbo's had failed. Compression was tested at this time with a very even 170psi across the board. Pulling it all apart we found a multitude of issues, egr hanging off causing an exhaust leak old sockets rolling about etc etc. We took that time to replace every damn crusty water and vac pipe and delete just about anything I considered a waste of space. Water plenum byp…

Hi guys, My long-awaited import has arrived at last but I'm having speedo issues. The car is a 1996 JDM TT and so doesn't have the boost gauge. That looks lopsided to me and I don't like aftermarket gauges so I bought a set of JDM instruments from a 1991 TT to swap in. Unfortunately the connectors are all different! Is it just a case of connect red to red, blue to blue etc or is there something more arcane I need to do? Or was there an intermediate section of loom in the early cars that I'm missing? Alternatively would it be better to fit the boost gauge into the old speedo housing (and if so how would I go about that?) As always, really grateful for any he…

I have this skyline diff. Im not sure which model/year etc it came from. Can anyone offer any factual info.???? Here are the facts that I do know. Its a 4.11 ratio. 37/9 teeth. Its fitted with a LSD of some type. Its in lovely clean undamaged condition. I "thought " it came from a R33 GTST that my pal bought to get an engine from... but it doesnt look like one I have seen on ebay?? Doing a google search it looks like a GTR diff but the prop flange on mine is different. Ultimately I want to sell it but it would be good to know what it is first so I dont miss sell it. Any info appreciated....................... Check out the pics

Started the car this morning seems to be running a bit lumpy in the cold mornings at the moment but when it reaches temperature vastly improves, this morning not more than half a mile it stalled and won't start.I was at a junction turned the wheel and just the load from the power streering made it stall. The only recent work carried out was 2 weeks ago changed one injector as it had failed (the dremel method was used) so nothing major was disturbed but it was running rich before and appears to still be running a little rich Will be checking the temperature sensor when i get it home first but any other ideas would be great, thanks

If I want to have my rear side markers light up, where can I get the bulb mounts from? The holes appear to be the three-notch type that slot in and then twist slightly to lock into place. Thanks :)

well the zed is off to get its final fettling, a swap of the gearbox ( not that there was anything wrong with the box when it went to Andy Duffs ) but between there and zedworld it managed to get cracked ..Jeff fitted it with another box during the rebirth but its whinning like a bitch in 1st 2nd and 3rd so now Jim is going to do what needs to be done , change gearbox, sort out missfire with a new loom, find teh persistent oil leak, and hopefully find the boost leak , as well as get her a new MOT ... she should be going down today and hopefully in a few weeks i will be a happy little zedder again .......

  18. Started by bird,

Its icy cold this morning and it was raining through the night. So, this morning while driving to work. The car started mis-firing like one or 2 cylinders had died. Was happening in third gear initially but then all. Power dropped dramatically and then was just mis-firing in general at all revs. Limped the car hear but ain't got a clue what could be wrong. Seems to be idling okay. checked the coil pack connections and they seem OK. Could the cold weather be the cause? I am very low on petrol too

Hi All! I've been having a hissing noise on overrun as the revs drop down. This Only occurs between 2500 and 2000rpm. It will go on for as long as you are off the throttle, and in between those revs. It even happens when in neutral and the engine is revved above 2500 and your foot taken off the accelerator. Does anyone else have a similar noise?

I know there are loads of threads on speedo conversions, but that's partly my problem. See im dyslex and i want to check that i haven't got the various ways mixed up. I have a jdm tt i also have a spare uk tt Insturment cluster. Can i just put the uk speedo (not just the face) in my jdm cluster? Will that convert it to mph? Failing that could i put the jdm odo/rev counter in the jdm clust to achieve the same?? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated :-) Lee

What are peoples' thoughts on running 9.5" width wheels on all four corners? The wheels I've seen that I quite like have a concave face on a 9.5" width, but a flat face on 8.5" - I'd like the dished look on all four corners but is the bigger width a bad idea on the front end (for any reason)? Thanks. :)
