So the car is off the road till the Spring. In the meantime I am planning ahead. I sent the ECU to Noz and it has had a nistune chip fitted. Also got an uprated 320lph fuel pump. Next thing is injectors. I don't think I want mega power, well not yet anyway, just safe reliable power, so the fuel pump is good for very high hp, so I need injectors which will be good for higher power, but will work fine at a reduced duty rate for my current needs. I'm thinking 470 or 555s? JECS seem to be plentiful are would these do?

Hi guys, thought I'd post up before I start investigating tomorrow. Hit a huge old pothole and bottomed out, car is running very rough, hunting idle, running rich and spewing black smoke under acceleration. Got no EML, I have a laptop and consult to plug in if that helps? I have a theory its an o2 sensor but not 100% Have a video of it here, 1993 UK TT. [video=youtube_share;BfdhPPOynj8]

Hi guys, After an age waiting for paperwork from customs and DVLA my import has finally arrived from Japan! It's a gorgeous black series 4 TT with a manual box (promise I'll post some pics when the weather improves and I can get her clean) and I am totally smitten. The engine, gearbox, body and all are fantastic, so I've only got a couple of little things to sort which I'd be grateful for advice on: 1) Neither of the front speakers makes more than a whisper. It was like that with the original JDM stereo and is the same with my head unit. Is there a connector block or amp somewhere that could take out both fronts like this? The wiring to the head unit looks…

A couple of weeks ago my car just stopped and still won't start, since thenI have changed the ptu to a series 2, I have power to all the coil packs and checked their resistance, there is fuel getting to the plugs that not a problem. I took out the CAS spun it by hand and checked all the injectors are firing but still no joy. The spark being emitted seems bright but someone said it should be more blue than a white spark plus my air filter may have got wet but surely this would give some result when cranking the engine rather than absolutely nothing? Anything I might of missed? No error codes on the ecu test either

Does anyone know if there is a power steering fuse? Looked under bonnet at the two fuse holders and cant see one.. Problem I'm having is that the steering has gone stiff. It's does work kind of but very stiff. I have drained as much fluid as i can but couldn't get to the rear hicas unit as I haven't got a ramp and mine is very low. I have refilled with ATF 3 and there is no air blockage but the steering is still stiff. Also the belt was removed for the oil pump 're fit and the mechanic assures me the belts are tight And tensioned correctly.

Hi guys, can you tell me whats the difference between a HID set costing £20 and one costing £80, and no prizes for anyone saying £60. Would, for instance, the expensive one have a brighter output for a set of 6000 bulbs? Rich

Hi does anyone know how to set these up? Manual online is very brief. Got the boost working fine. It's the oil pressure I can't seem to get going properly. I've recently had my oil pump changed and by doing so it has sorted the annoying whinning sound and fixed the random tapet noises. I have disconnected the Oem sender and fitted the aftermarket one and wired it up correctly to the control box. But my readings are erratic. From cold the cars oil pressure starts about 2-3 as it warms the creeps up to bout 4 then once at Normal operation temperature the pressure rises above 5 and 6 when driven and drops when idle And sometimes drops to zero. Then while dr…

You can see from the first two pictures where I was waiting in the central reservation crossing point to turn into work and the cycle lane markings on the road Well I had to wait there for stationary traffic. When the traffic started moving a car held back to let me out I started across the road and didn't see anything moving at about 5 - 10 mph and then BANG. A bloody motorbike using the cycle lane doing abouy 25 mph that did this My Insurance first of all said 50/50 but when I proved he was in a cycle lane they said it'll be a no blame because the motor cyclist wouldn't have been visible when I started and he shouldn't have bee…

Basically have got 10" wheels going to be fitted and currently on 265 all round but are pretty much on the legal limit, so wondering from people experience whether these cars handle better with a square or staggered setup? More concerned about grip and handling than looks (but wide tyre look cool as anyway :) )

....oh dear!! eBay link I've seen some awful fitting retrims in my time, but this is shocking! The upper bolsters are sooo baggy and the seams don't even look as if they line up with the edge of the foam underneath!! :2guns: :hurl:
