Standard silver J reg 300zx, Today around 4pm, On the ring road roundabout opposite the kingsgate shopping centre in Huddersfield???

have only just noticed that my rear lights on the right hand side dont come on when asked to. bugger. changed the filaments - no joy. swapped wiring looms with left hand side and they work fine in the LHS position? right, time for multimeter.... 12volts to both left and right light assy's but whatever loom goes in the RHS wont illuminate the filaments? ok :confused: next twist... pushing brake pedal illuminates 'LIGHTS' on dash. oh dear, that cant be right :cry: pushing brake pedal also illuminates standard rear lights on RHS,brake lights on RHS, brake lights on LHS and brake light on spoiler :confused: :cry: :confused: :cry: :confused: :…

as you might haveread in a post earlier this year a tree fell on my car in the gales , i got off quite lightly with only the wind breaking of the drivers side mirror , denting the bonnet and wing slightly , however the legacy is the mirrors no longer electrically function , ( either of them ) the dashboard centre console clock is now dead and the intermittent wipe no longer works ??? i have no circuit diagram of the wiring or fuse feed layout so cant trace it back , the fuse box cover is of no help at all as neither intermittent wipe , clock . or mirrors are shown as fed devices, anybody on here got any ideas ???? :bow: :bow: :confused:

Hi guys, hope everyone is well. I recently bought a blitz dual turbo timer which was second hand and came with no instructions. Being a mechanical and electronics rookie i quickly realised i have no idea how to install the bloody thing. The link from ebay of the timer is attached. Hi guys Ive noticed, and the car has done this for about 3yrs now, but now its becoming realy anoying! that if the air con is off, and you drive towards say a round about, junction or red light, when the clutch is pressed and the revs drop, the idle goes to approx 400-500, shakes and the engine cuts out. Same thing happens if say you drive in 4/5th gear at 40+ and you pressed the clutch and let the engine idle, it will stall. it almost seems as if the revs drop to quick? At standstill, you can rev the car, right to the limit in fact and it never stalls, the revs do drop almost to 500 but the engine does keep going (just). normally, the engine idls fine. Ive clea…

yep i know i have been on bout this before but its doing my head in!! first fault! coasting down hill with throttle closed no smoke but when booting it after wards at the bottom of the hill i get clouds of blue smoke!! but if i keep the throttle open as i come down the hill, then start off again at the bottom of the hill i get no smoke!! this to me sounds like valve stem oil seals, also when i start the car i get some blue smoke when i rev it but soon clears!! so i have done all the valve stem oil seals with the heads on i might add :hyper: and the smoke is still there same as before :headvswal is it possible i have hammerd the val…

Did you break down? Your hazards were on whilst you were stopped at some traffic lights.

If we was to recondition the turbos ourselves where do we get the parts from and for how much? Also how much would it cost to have them balanced after?

:cry: When driving my car at constant speed, it is fine. But when I put my foot down, it makes a howling whistle sound. I am not sure what is causing this, it never used to do this, but recently it has started. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. My car is an automatic twin-turbo.

just a quick question have a auto 300zx z32 on a 91 model year. if i was to buy a manual 300zx for parts to convert my current z to a manual. is there anything that i should know ie do the blocks have different postioning of the bolt holes etc to attach the gearbox or any other nasty surprises. is there a certain model year that i have to find. am considering it as i my engine is starting to smoke and if i have to take the bugger out then i will take the vehicle off the road completely until all repairs and mods are done and buy a cheap run around for the time being. that way i will have a crisp zed once done and hopefully no further problems.

Getting my box changed for a fast road one in 3 weeks time. Are there any other things that could be done when the box is out?? Cheers Andrew :cool:

Picked car up from airport after my holiday last night and my power steering is heavy. It is working but is on the really heavy setting like I was doing 100mph+ all the time. No fluid leaks, no error codes, 99% sure pump is working. So is down to a signal error I should think. the speed sensor is 10 months old so doubt its that. Tried testing the solenoid next to the oil filter and could only get a reading of 0.03v. Think this should read 5v??? So is it just it’s getting the wrong reading and keeping it heavy or making an incorrect reading? Any ideas you lot?

Does any one have a layout picture of which wire is what on the ECU harness? I have looked at the online manual, under "Wiring Diagram" but half the page is missing. Does any one know where I can get an image of it. Or does any one have the manual on CD which they can send me the full image of?

Hi, im just wondering how much it costs to have your engine reconditioned and at how many miles you should think of having it done, its just im thinking of spending some cash on body mods(vielside kit, flip re-spray) but i want to make sure the cars allright mechanically first. its done about 75000miles so i dont think it necerseraly needs recon, im basically just priceing up all my options. any thoughts would be apreciated cheers

Hello all, I considering buying a UK spec Nissan 300ZX TT. I have always considered the 300ZX to be one of the best looking cars on the road, ever. My last car was a 1997 5th generation Honda Prelude 2.2 VTi. I have checked out the Buyer’s Guide which is good. My main query about the 300ZX is reliability. How would you rate it’s reliability? What are the running costs like? For example, how much would a new headlight, electric window motor or oil filter cost? When would it need new turbos and how much do they cost to replace?
