Guess it must have been about 2.30? Looked bone-stock other than a different exhaust.

I've got and intermittent issue with the blower which I'm not sure how to track down. Occasionally there will be manic clicking from a relay and the blower will cut in and out. If the aircon is on the aircon light will go on and off in time with the blower. Mines a series 4 with the manual controls and this can happen in all 4 fan speeds. When it does happen changing the blower to a different speed and then back usually clears it. Looking at previous threads and the FSM there are lots of possible culprits. Well it's been about 5 years ( that's so embarrassing) in the making but I finally drive my zed on the road today - all the more poignant as it's my birthday! It's mot tomorrow to see what officially needs doing, but it felt great to actually drive it finally! I know I have more work to do - leaky oil from head and a newly discovered lack of synchro on 3rd but still my Perm-a-grin has been reinstalled! M

It's been a busy weekend for me. I have finally pulled the engine and auto gearbox out of the z. Then I have cleaned up the manual box to go in. Replaced some of the bearings. And painted it all up. Here are some pics to show you what I have done.

Could anybody tell me if you can fit the engine and gearbox joined together. It doesn't look possible. But would save the struggle with the two top bell housing bolts.

Is there anywhere in the UK to buy silicone intercooler couplers from for SMICs? Or is my only option the US...?

Hows it going all. Been meaning to come on here but just haven't gotten the chance until now! I've been back for a week now and and I'll be gone by next week. Before I left I had dropped my zx for a few jobs which included a new engine harness, oil leak, irregular idle, clutch booster, heater matrix, replaced plenum, braided fuel lines, tune up and a fair few other bits and bobs including completed deletes. I picked her up last week from Lee (thanks bud) and she's running hellova lot better!! A lot more solid knowing that everything is how it should be!! Hi guys, really could do with some guidance on an issue I have at the moment. Have been Googling it a lot but so far not able to come to a firm conclusion. CAR '91 Jap Import 2+2 300zx TT ISSUE Noise coming (I believe) from the rear of the car. Noise is consistent with road speed, not engine speed. Starts around 20mph and gets louder with speed. Throttle and braking does not seem to affect the noise. Turning left makes the noise disappear instantly, it returns when you straighten up. Any one else ever sheered the head off a CAS bolt? It's not affecting anything so I've left it for a short while and the other 2 bolts are holding the CAS in place no bother but I still want it out and then i can replace them all for new ones. So, it's sheered off where there's nothing to crab on to with grips. It's a little tight to get a drill in there too and I'm not keen on drilling down there anyway but im guessing ill have to. What do ya's think? Is there any other way of getting it out?

I need your opinions on my na, i know the general consensus to the bgw is not good but for my zed was it right? Since buying my slicktop the na is becoming less of a toy and more of a daily drive, so re thinking a few bits of it, spoil made sense as a trackday car imo. But now it's just adding drag, but having taken it off I'm not sure my zed looks right... so should it stay or go? And what should it be replaced with if anything anything? My engine has developed a small but steady trickle of oil from the interface between the head and block, at the lug that is at the back of the drivers side bank. It only leaks when the engine is running and takes about a minute before the oil starts to appear, and then weep down the block... I have tightened the m6 bolt than fastens the head to the block in this lug but this hasn't cured it. Has any one seen this before and is there a solution that doesn't involve pulling the head off? :( So frustrating!!

Morning all, I am going to re install my knock sensor and remove the resistor bypass, now the question is , as I do not want to pull the upper and lower Plenum so access the stock location , where else can it be mounted for best effect, Or alternatively if the standard knock sensor is poor, can I mount a better sensor that will still talk to my ECU and access knock maps if for example my MAF suddenly fails ?, Im thinking of a similar sensor to that which is used during Dyno Mapping sessions. so guys just a quickie , had car hooked up to laptop the other day for random check up, O2 bank 1 and 2 are at different levels throughout the rev range by about 50% and the lower reading one is slower to respond im assuming faulty O2 sensor? maybe nothing to worry about thanks guys :)

Hi can anyone help I'm looking for a garage to check out a misfire I have on my 1997 300zx twin turbo it has had a lot of modifications made to it including piggy back ECU so I need a garage who will look for the problem and not just say the system needs to be put back to standard I have owned the car for 4 months and its been running great then last week it started to misfire I have changed the spark plugs and checked the coil packs which are OK but misfire still there Please contact me with any info either about local garages or suggestions on things to try to solve misfire Thanks Malcolm

Did anyone see Wheeler dealers last week with TR6 ? Ed put some waterless coolant into it Didn't know that existed 'til then Has anybody any experience of it because apparently it's good up to about 180 degrees and as low as -40 so you don't need antifreeze either If it's as good as it sounds can you use it in a ZED ?

Before I start volt dropping earths and etc I wondered if anyone has experienced this My o/s/f head lamp flickers on and off, mainly after being used for some time, Goes off when relay removed, but returns when refitted/ swapped with n/s relay so I do not think its relay flickering lights on and off it eventually stopped but cant say for sure if it was me or just a coincidence? happens with ignition on and off
