Well its time to let the cat out of the bag and let you guys know that Mandy sold Zebedee to me last week. I have to say after a week of driving "him" I can understand why she loves this car so much it drives so well and looks......well I don't need to tell you how it looks. So I have to say I feel honoured that Mandy decided to entrust this epic car to my safe keeping and I promised her that I will look after him in the same way she coveted the car under her ownership. So I'm already planning my show season and what's going to happen to my white car too. Previously I was going to sell it ( this may happen in the future) but for now I'm planning some more engine upgrade…

Evening all, anyone got any suggestions on the sealant for rear lamps, need to fit my new 99 lights, ideally would liked to source the correct butyl strip tape, being able to remove in future is a priority so not using urethane adhesives or the like as they are permanent. Cheers.

Toying with the idea of fixing one or both of these to my Z! Anyone fitted sensors or fitted a reverse camera to their Z! Seems the sensors can be painted/sprayed to match the colour of your car. Any thoughts on this?

Well, Finally had a call from the Insurance today They've given us the full £6,000 it was insured for ! That was after two weeks of telling us they were having trouble valuing it ! They said There only two on Pistonheads and a few on on ebay but none with the low miles or a 98 model Version R they could base their valuation on. But as we'd got all the service history, all the records etc they agreed the full insurance value. so RESULT !

I know I sometimes post these essays, I don't expect everyone to read them, but the SAR ones are very cathartic for me to write, often while still stinking of avtur, ears ringing trying to wind down. But these car ones I simply enjoy re-living the moment. I once read a mountain biking editorial, to paraphrase, it said, "Biking is all about the seconds. You spend weeks waiting for the weather, hours driving about from forest to field, days peddling, hours belting down hill. But perhaps once a ride, you set into a bend, your hairs stand up, you realise you have run out of talent and are relying on luck, you feel yourself slip outward on the loose gravel towards the edg…

A track day at brands hatch on Sunday finished my clutch off, so I'm in need of an uprated one. I know the opinions of XTD clutches are very strong for either side, are they worth going for? Stage 4 looks like it would handle some abuse, are they daily drive-able? Needs to handle at least 400hp comfortably The other contender is competition clutch, but is pretty big jump in price and would need a flywheel too. While the box is out, I'm very tempted to put a single piece prop in too. Any advice appreciated!

Managed to do some work on the poor old zed the other day, installed the fmic and fired her up only to be greeted by a loud tapping as she's running, it increases speed with the revs and sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine to the rear near the firewall. She was running fine before nice and smooth , just a little smokey from the pcv valves. Not been run for about two months now, any ideas?

I've a week off work, so need to fix a few things with my zeds First is on the was home yesterday in the na and the speed speedo suddenly stopped working, if the steering goes steering when heavy as well so could be fun to fix any suggestions? Mainly want to work on my swb, and I need some advice on its boost issue, took it for a drive and think I've worked out a pattern, it boosts 1 bar through 1-3 gear, but under load in 4th 5th (like when I was on the dyno) it only reaches 0.5 bar, but if it's still accelerating from 3rd so under less load it boosts properly. Can't test 4th into 5th on public roads. Anyone have any ideas, thought it was the boost controller b…

The majority of us have HID lights in our projector dipped or low beam and mostly these are white in the range of 4300 - 6000k colour. The main or high beam is another matter as a H1 HID light kits can be fit for sure but full lumens is not instant, so flashing is going to look weary and even on and off the main beam on an unlit road could lead to issues. Many months ago i bought these bad boys and here is a pic along side a standard filament 55w H1. I'm sure you can see there is a big difference with the led one being a massive 18mm in diameter, this will not fit in the stock opening so out with the dremel and open it up, it's aluminium so this …

Just out of curiously really. The pipe work (intake and intercooling etc) is pretty much identical on both side. So equal lengths etc. My question is, if it wasn't the same, so one side was a little shorter than the other (mainly from the turbo outlet to the intercooler), would it cause any problems at all?
