I recently did a oil change and put mobil1 in which seems to have caused a leak from the rear crank seal due to it being "thinner" , I removed a bit of oil and placed some wynns super charge for oil in to thicken it up slightly which seems to have alleviated the rear crank seal leak. Am I right in thinking that I still get the enhanced benefits of synthetic oil but with it being slightly thicker? ( i just spend a short while longer in the morning before i boot it )

Hi people, Everytime I put on the Ac (or heater), for few minutes, there is a distinct smell of exhaust fume in the car I know the distinct smell because my car is running a bit rich so slight smell of petrol mixed with fumes. Although I recently re-build my motor with new wiring loom, and have check for leakage on the joins in the exhaust system - I doubt if this could be the problem - but then I don't know so that is why stating all the facts here. Also few years ago, I changed my heater metrix and did noticed then that whenever AC/heater was used, we all have sore-throat (the family I mean) but then I took car to Nissan to clean the ac system. …

Hi guys, Trying to fit my Megan de-cat pipes. But, they do not fit very well. Tried altering the bend, but moving stainless steel tube, is impossible. Do not want to use them as they are. Will put too much strain on turbo mountings and gearbox support. Can anyone recommend, what they did to fit theirs? Plus, my car is a UK TT manual. These down pipes are really close to gearbox cables and pipes coming off gearbox. Is this safe? I am concerned that the radiated heat coming off pipes might damage cables and pipes. Was thinking of otherwise wrapping pipes in exhaust heat banding. What do you think? Regards Kev

I need to buy a pair of car ramps and a low level trolley jack. Any advice on whats the best one for the Z in respect to weight tolerance/clearance etc. (i.e. don't want ramps/jack to collapse or take off my stock bumper when driving/jacking up. !) Where do I buy them from and how much do I need to spend ? Thanking you all in advance.

I'm not sure how many of you know about the zed that I bought last October but here goes anyway. I bought my car from a trader in Bedford on an 93' plate with 53000 miles (when converted). The car began to cause me problems on the way back home so i got back and made enquiries as to what it could be. After some research it was established that the tubs had gone....great. I then requested the money back from the trader which he refused. Actually he refused to help at all saying he knew his rights. Deciding I needed to take things further I had the car fully inspected by Jeff at Zedworld. We discovered problems with the suspension and HICAS that would have co…

Hi, I've registered on behalf of a friend who has major problem with his car for a number of years. He's not technical in the slightest and needs to find someone who can make sense of his car. I'm more of a Chevy V8 man so need to do my homework on all this computer/turbo stuff. The car is a Japanese imported 93 Twin Turbo, it has a Veilside system installed uprated turbos, intercooler etc and a Ferrari F40 style body kit fitted before it arrived in the UK. In its' day it has won awards and was supposed to be good for 500 horses. About 4 years ago he had the engine and auto transmission rebuilt at a cost of about £14000 (quite scary from my perspective!). A…

Ok, so the engine I'm collecting next week is a low mileage example from an Auto TT. From what I know, the cams are slightly different giving the engine a slightly different powerband to compensate for the different transmissions. What other differences are there and what gains would I notice? Are the power figures much different?
