General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I have 2 connectors that are not plugged in both right next to the suspension turrets and can i find where to plug them in ( i think not ) i belive that its had a boost controller in a some point, and these where never reconnected after removal, can anyone shed any light on where to look as ive been under the car all afternoon and cannot find any other connecters anywhere can anyone help, ive got some pics on me phone but cant find me bluetooth dongle so i will try and put them up tomorrow. How do you know when your turbos are either gone or starting to go??

Am thibnking of upgrading the radio player in the z. i listen to loads of radio so im keen to get something that will lay downloadable podcasts nut i was wondering - in terms of looks which audio system do you think best suits the Z? I deally it has to look as stcok as possible!

Ever since I put on a different set of alloys on my Zed the steering wheel vibrates above 50mph. The alloys were from another zed so they are the correct fittment. I went to get the front tyres balanced today and to my astonishment both front tyres have severe wear (smooth as hell) on the inside wall. The rear are fine. I got them balanced but the vibration is still there and now even when I brake I can feel more steering wheel juddering. So annoying its unbelievable. I was going to get it tracked but thought I would ask you guys first for your opinions. Any ideas what this can be ? Thanking you all in advance.

I know this is a very common problem on these cars but I have read so many conflicting posts saying it can be sorted on stock suspension, so here is my problem: I have recently sold my stock alloys with tyres to a member from the SXOC site, I took loads of pictures and gave a very detailed description etc of them (As I have been stung on tis before) on the Z and he was very happy with the condition and photo,s. I took them off the Z about half an hour before he arrived from Bristol, only to find the front tyres had very un even wear on the very inside edge, it was obviously to late to email him and I did'nt have his number but I reduced the sale value of the wheels accord…

Will be looking to get the inside of the Zed re-upholstered when I finally get her back next week. I'm planning on getting the full job including glove box gear and handbrake gaiter doorcards and seats..even the gearstick. Anybody know who does this well and at a reasonable cost? Cheers Rob PS. Anyone got a good photo of the z logo, the reason i ask is i have found a guy that is going to make me some white dials with the z logo on them, if they turn out nice ill post pics and he will do a group discount. these dials are very cheap around the £40 mark delivered.

Hi all Saw 2 Zeds there this afternoon between 3 and 4 1st one - black, on the A40 parked just after Loudwater mini roundabout. You were fiddling in your boot, I hooted as I drove past in a red ZX. 2nd one - a white UK spec reg K300###. Initially parked on the hill in Hatters Lane, then 1/2 hour later you were a couple of cars behind me on the A40 heading towards Beaconsfield. Anyone? Richard :cool:

Fitted the delimiter and mph convertor today so had to go give it a test drive. Halfway down my private road at 120mph it starts to judder and shudder. Slow down from that speed quickly makes the warped brakes shake like hell but as i get slower the shudder is very noticable. stop and the engine sounds awfull, think to myself ok are we in limp home mode so drive off and the boost goes above limp home limits but it sounds and feels awfull. So get it home and pop the bonnet to see if anything is obvious and i cant see a thing easy wrong, just on a off chance i start pulling the coil connectors and refitting, yep you guessed it , thank god thats all it was, they are …

so ive come to the point to connect up the cruise buttons but no idea where they go... ive taken my after market wheel off and exposed the entire hub but cannot see any attachment point... the only thing i can see is a black box at the bottom of the steering assembly. It looks like something should plug into the front of this, but the buttons i have have a brown and white connector that wont fit in there.. Is it a case that I have only got the section out of the stock wheel and that the stock wheel then has something that plugs in in this black box? If so can i just hard wire these buttons to the same coloured wires out of the mystery black box.. …

Today around 12.15PM driving through the high street. Looked a tidy one, nice dished rims. Window wound down, I was going to run over and say hello, but thought I best not! LOL

is there any was i can remove the aeriel and run a fixed aeriel wire through the trim of the boot and still keep decent reception... ? i just recon it looks pretty dated and would benifit from being smoothed over and painted... anyone done this??

Ive finally got round to sorting out my boot space and found the targa tie down straps loose round the spare wheel. Where and how do I attach these under the carpet to secure the targas when they are in the boot? Im sure this should be simple but its defeating me....

hi all my n/a auto doent like pulling away sometimes mostly when cold,(has done it when hot) put your foot down and it moves abit then seems to stops ,then it will jump in to life and away you go . its a pain as it always does it at cross roads etc theres always a car coming towards you but theres nothing you can do untill it kicks into life again .

Hi im wanting to remove my exterior trim around the windows and targas, im assumeing they just prize off, but they dont seem to becoming off as easy as i would like, and im sh1t scared of buggering my new paint work, does anyone have any tips on getting them off. also im planning on re-spraying them and the wipers, ive got some black semi gloss paint do i need to laquer them after as i dont want them to be too shiney. any tips most apreciated cheers si

with all the talk of decatting - thought Id post this. I may have posted it yesterday but Id had a bit too drink and cant find the post :) On a TT is it a good idea? I done it to me last one and am sure thats what killed my turbo seals?
