Ive noticed Im losing petrol through or around the filler cap. It seems to be when I drive car hard, I stop and I have a patch of petrol around the cap on the rear arch. Is the cap meant to have a rubber seal on it? It turns and locks but can still be moved out by a couple of mm. Or does it sound like a breather problem? Cheers

these buggers (on the left of the pic) have been a pain since i got the car, the 'O'-rings were leaking and the tyres have had a slow puncture. so seeing as the cars off the road, i took the wheels to get the tyres off them so i could replace the seals, well, the boy was a bit handy when breaking the bead off and ended up snapping the tyre valve. so i went to a few motorbike shops and found that theyre a pain in the arse to get hold of, but i saw that they had a type using the 'standard' uk type like a rubber bung with a chrome valve (as seen right on pic) so seeing as these are readily available i thought i would ream out the valve hole in the wheels to take th…

The fluid goes down every now and then but always seemed worse after very cold weather. Anyway the other day I have a puddle of fluid on the floor and zero pedal resistance......I have a feeling one of the hard lines on the drivers side may have split. So my question is - Is this hard line easy to replace or is it a pain and gonna cost lots of dosh to get it sorted. I'm hoping that at either end of this hard pipe it goes to a rubber pipe so its not too painful to replace...But knowing Nissan, these things run all the way to the ABS unit.....like spaghetti junction plumbing! Is taking the brake line guard off easy enough - I havent got underneath to have a prop…

I know that my front callipers need swapping for T/T ones as mine will only except 26mm discs but I was told the rears are all the same (30mm discs T/T & N/A) but I looked at my rear discs today and they appear to be 26mm as well??????? even though I could not measure them properly due to a then metal protecter thing which is over them. So will I need front and rear T/T Calipers if I am going with 30mm discs all round????? Cheers in advance :duffer:

quite curious about this whole thing. As we all know than when a car is written off after an accident the insurance company generally pays out the book price. Now I know some of you have stated an agreed value. Now some of the zed's on here would need a very high agreed value to recoup a fair bit of your outlay. I myself will have spend the guts of 20k in the end, so was just wondering about all the high power, high money zeds on here and your insurance.... Mark

Hi people. Just thought I would reintroduce myself. My name is Scott.... I have owned & driven Japanese cars for many years now including MR2, Prelude, 200 sx etc etc..... To cut a long story short I have always loved the 300 but never felt brave enough to own one as I know there are alot of dogs out there & I don't want to get bitten. Basically I will be in the market to buy in the next week or two with a budget of 4 - 4.5k..... I have been keeping my eyes on the for sale bit as well as Autotrader. Thing is Im not the most mechanically minded person in the world...... Anyway I guess Im asking if there is anyone in my area that would fanc…

Hi guys Been modding my Z. What is the maximum boost/bhp can the internals (pistons/con-rods) take, before you need to replace them. The reason i ask is, i am thinking of fitting 555 injectors and bigger tubs, but would like to leave the main engine for the moment. The car had a new Nissan engine install 3 years ago, about 5000 miles. seems a shame to replace. Can anyone advise? Looking on some U.S. performance sites like Z1 motorsport, they do performance packs where they supply bigger tubs etc. But no mention of replacing internals etc. http://www.z1motorsports.com/index.php?cPath=1_6_343 Even 600 HP pack. Is this correct? Regards…

My mate (300zx owner) has got a slight problem and has asked me if I know what it might be. The steering seems notchy (50p piece syndrom) and is quite heavy at low speeds. I would not suggest to him that it seems obvious that the PAS system is at fault because I dont know. So I said I would ask you guys. Any Ideas or suggestions that I can ring him back with would be much appreciated and you never know we might get a fresh member? Thanks in advance Vini
