SO after (finally :headvswal ) getting my profec B to work went for a power run or 2 this weekend,. Turbos hit harder and faster and its all great, however when the car is under boost i can here a constant tick/clicking like a relay coming from under the bonnet near the greddy solenoid.. The solenoid is mounted on the drivers side of the bonnet and im sure it is this area the noise is from. Wasnt there before and stops if the profec is turned on... thing is , is this normal? the car is boosting right but does it show a faulty solenoid? or one that maybe is on its last legs even though its a new profec? If its normal i can live with it, but if not nee…

had my first proper MOT (since I imported the car) on the weekend, it passed with absolutely no probs. But while it was up on the rack the mechanic showed me a couple of rubber bits on the front axle that I assume act as some sort of cushoning for the steering. They looked quite worn and broken, what are these called? and where can I replace them. Thanks in advance. sonix.

Hi Guys, I'm new to you forum and am about to buy a 300zx t/t auto. I currently own an 100nx(don't laugh) and have had a 200sx previously so I now need to own a 300zx! The one I'm looking at is a jap import, 1992 which has done 55,000 miles and is standard apart from a stainless steel exhaust and dump valves. The guy wants 3500.00 for it, is this a good price and is there anything I should especially look for when I go to see it?? Thanks in advance

Pardon my ignorance but where do I buy the fancy coloured hoses from for the entire engine ? Any ideas how much they cost ? Is there a kit available ? If yes then what is it called. After blue silicon ones to replace the whole lot. By the way, I haven't got a clue how many and what sizes are needed. Cheers !

Hi people, Please, please can anyone help?! Had running probs on my manual TT for the last couple of months and its just been diagnosed that its a faulty ecu. The current unit is a 'Mines' one which was fitted in Japan so a 2nd hand one of those would be ideal but I dont want to be spending an arm and a leg so a standard unit would be ok. If anyone has one or knows of anyone that has one it would be much appreciated if you could get in touch. Has to be for a MANUAL TWIN TURBO. My email address is Bertie@pauljbrowner.demon.co.uk. Thankyou in advance! Paul.

After fitting my aftermarket boost gauge to test what psi it is running I find it wont go past 7 psi (safety limit). At the scottish meet, it was suggested to reset ECU by removing the negative terminal from the battery for 20 minutes. I did this with no change. Anyone able to help out. The car has the following done to it: NissTek chip 1.0mm boost jets Apexi Induction kit Baileys BOVs Twin 4" S/S Full System (with cat still on) Thanks in advance, Dave G

Hi all - well im still looking for a Z, Drove a 1990 Auto N/A yesterday and 1992 Auto TT today. N/A was ok - more responsive than i thought only not that quick off the mark - was a good test drive though, it was dry yesterday and could drive quite hard. TT today..ok well its at an import place and hasnt been registered yet, bloke reckoned it hadnt been started since it got to his garage, there quite a lot of smoke for the first 15mins of it idling in the garage, went for a drive but it was pi**ing down so could really do much, when i did it slid all over the place, (the tyres were all shot - rekons he'll replace all of them for me). The boost guage looked…

  18. Started by Mark W,

Any help much appreciated! I'm in the process of installing Eibach springs and have hit a snag... Got the first front shock out easy, but I can't dismantle the shock to remove the spring. Tried molegrips on the shock shaft, but they just slipped. Anyone got any top tips that don't involve serious garage tools?! I've got new shocks for the front, but I'm hoping to re-use the rears which are only 2 years old anyway. Alternatively... 1) Does anyone have the top mounts & gators from a set of shocks? (Or any shocks for that matter) 2) Does anyone have a spare fully assembled front passenger side shock & spring?! Cheers, Mark

but legally Changed over clocks from KMH to UK Speedo. Problem is my UK speedo reads 120K miles. Can I legally set it to what My Jap was set at but convert it to Miles. I can take photos etc. Secondly - how do you do so - dont wanna make a bodge of it and have numbers out of alignment. Or . Do I just keep a record of what it was when swapped over and mentally knock 70K miles of it each time.

Right today I lined up the dots etc undone the 27mm bolt got the 3 legged puller on the pulley and its started to come off but its only moving a bit at a time, I thought it would just come a bit at first then just come off in one go. But I get the feeling it will be a slow process to come off right the way to the end a bit at a time. Is this normal or has anybody elses just made a cracking noise and slipped right off easy??

My 91 J spec auto seems to be leaking from the rear crank seal as it has all the signs... engine oil dripping from the bellhousing ( about a inch long small pool every night ) and all other culprits looking dry. How much should I be looking to pay for this work as the box will need to come out, remember that as I live in penzance I will be using a local garage that does good work as travelling to the specialists is a bit far .
