Hello all again. Some of you may know me from ages ago - my names chopper (mike), and i used to have a rather quick sexy black NA manual @400BHP with NOS etc. Well after a GTR32 (366BHP) UKd1 winner, a honda ITR (supercharged) street race winner, a Matt Black 330hp Scooby (got nicked two weeks ago) im back to Zeds again. And i must say i have well missed them !! I got a TT auto the other day from a friend of mine, that has a suspect head gasket fault :( It wont start, and when he tried to start it, fumes came out of the rad cap (suggesting HG) then it would nt start again. Since i bought my Zed last year the clock has not worked... at the weekend i went over a big bump and it started to work (i got very excited :dance: ) and then when i next started her the clock did not work. :headvswal Its not a major issue but any ideas on how i can get it working? or is there any nice asthetic mod i can put in its place? cheers Z Man

Well i've finally done it. After a year of yearning i've gone and bought myself a Z! She's a 1991 twin turbo automatic on 90,000miles (Uk car). And yes it lives up to every expectation. Being a Z newbie I really need some advise from you legendary Zed heads. I got a good deal on the car as its on 90,000 and the turbo's have never been replaced. I was therefore aware that they would prob need replacing in the near future but the car was boosting just as it should. The only apparent defect was she was very "sludgy" for the first 2 mins or so from cold start. Today however, the car's only boosting to 7psi which I understand to be 'safety boost'. I have not long got off the phone with Carol Nash insurance. I paid over £400 this year for the Zed and I have been quoated;to include legal protection, 5,000 miles;UK and europe breakdown by Nash's £217 full comp with £100 excess for fire theft and glass damage (£200 this year). Is it cos i'm old :( or co's i'm a cripple !! :smash:

I need a new battery for my 300. What is the best kind to get, any suggestions?

well i was going to do the breaks today but after taking the pads out i saw that there is loads of pad left on them so i dont need to change them yet. however, i dont think the calipers look too healthy, and i think that it might be time to give them a service. where can i buy the seal kit for the fronts and rear calipers from please. im looking to do this myself , i remember there was a link that had a detailed explanation and pics on how to do this, anyone remember?? here are pics of the one caliper both sides of pots, i checked the one caliper then left the others till i do the seals and service them. thanks si

Right, now I'm taking the engine out soon due to having bore problems. Engine is low mileage and has 2 very good turbos....but don't want to put them back in with original seals as even though they are very good, knowing my luck, they'll go as soon as the new engine goes in. Now, when the engine comes out to be replaced, I am going to get new seal kits for the tubs. Anyone done this before? Si

When i turn my headlights and ignition off everything is fine. Then about half an hour later i'll come back to the car to find the drivers side full beam on-and JUST THAT. To get the damn thing to turn off i have to play with the headlights ignition all sorts, any ideas? HELP!!! :headvswal

I am just about to remove the timing belt to put on the new one, just one question now I have removed the crank pulley etc and read the 60K instructions. Do I still need to use the belt wrap technique to stop any of the sprockets turning as I remove the belt or can I just cut the old belt off and put the new one on without any of the sprockets etc turning?? SO after (finally :headvswal ) getting my profec B to work went for a power run or 2 this weekend,. Turbos hit harder and faster and its all great, however when the car is under boost i can here a constant tick/clicking like a relay coming from under the bonnet near the greddy solenoid.. The solenoid is mounted on the drivers side of the bonnet and im sure it is this area the noise is from. Wasnt there before and stops if the profec is turned on... thing is , is this normal? the car is boosting right but does it show a faulty solenoid? or one that maybe is on its last legs even though its a new profec? If its normal i can live with it, but if not nee…

Ok, last night i went to the fish shop. When walking out a Metal light (tube light) guard (i think thats what they are called) fell off the ceiling and clonked me in the back of the head, :( Yes i went to the fish shop and got battered :x: Now what do i do from here? Do i claim, do i ask for free food lol What would you do? I will put up a picture of what it looked like when i get hopme later on tonight.

had my first proper MOT (since I imported the car) on the weekend, it passed with absolutely no probs. :bow: But while it was up on the rack the mechanic showed me a couple of rubber bits on the front axle that I assume act as some sort of cushoning for the steering. They looked quite worn and broken, what are these called? and where can I replace them. Thanks in advance. sonix.

How much lag would T3 turbos have on the 300? Roughly of course, is anyone running same size?

Hi Guys, I'm new to you forum and am about to buy a 300zx t/t auto. I currently own an 100nx(don't laugh) and have had a 200sx previously so I now need to own a 300zx! The one I'm looking at is a jap import, 1992 which has done 55,000 miles and is standard apart from a stainless steel exhaust and dump valves. The guy wants 3500.00 for it, is this a good price and is there anything I should especially look for when I go to see it?? Thanks in advance

where is the fuse box? whilst i was looking for it i looked under the passenger side carpet to find the floor soaking wet. how could this be as there has not been any1 in the car. the sound-proofing was completely water logged

Pardon my ignorance but where do I buy the fancy coloured hoses from for the entire engine ? Any ideas how much they cost ? Is there a kit available ? If yes then what is it called. After blue silicon ones to replace the whole lot. By the way, I haven't got a clue how many and what sizes are needed. Cheers !

Hi people, Please, please can anyone help?! Had running probs on my manual TT for the last couple of months and its just been diagnosed that its a faulty ecu. The current unit is a 'Mines' one which was fitted in Japan so a 2nd hand one of those would be ideal but I dont want to be spending an arm and a leg so a standard unit would be ok. Ello chaps Iv seen the Led lights that Luke does .. but .. i wanna do something a bit diff, im a dab hand with fibre glass .. spent many a year installing fibreglass based sound systems.. anyone got any info on what Led's are used .. what the requirements are for MOT etc ? i wanna try n make em very similar to the standard lights but with my own bit of magic which hooks up to the sound system .. for show purposes only :x: Cheers John

After fitting my aftermarket boost gauge to test what psi it is running I find it wont go past 7 psi (safety limit). At the scottish meet, it was suggested to reset ECU by removing the negative terminal from the battery for 20 minutes. I did this with no change. Anyone able to help out. Hi I have a Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo on a J-Plate on 50,000 miles, but the Big Ends Have started to go, does anyone know anybody that can give me a quote to either rebuild the engine or swap the engine over.

Ive got a jwt chip with 0.8mm jets with 15/16 psi on aftermarket boost gauge but i want to try a more aggressive chip, which chip would peeps recommend ??? and is there any pro's/con's with a aggressive chip compared to a mild chip, ive got usual bolt on bits blitz induction,catback exhaust,ud pulley,koyo rad, stock injectors, ngk 11b plugs. thanx in advance.
