General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Can anyone help. As some of you know, my cambelt gave up @ 50mph. Fortunately she's running again with no damage to valves :hyper: .The only problem is that when i go to accelerate the car pauses for a couple of seconds and the revs drop from 900 to 500 rpm and the boost goes from -6 to 0 . My oil pressure goes from between 2 and 4 but no higher, whats the story with it, it's starting to wreck my head :confused:

Do anyone know where i could get a front crossmember 4 this car?

OK I posted a previous thread regaring my car wasnt starting once it heated up. The conclusion from that was a f**cked PTU. So I have replaced it with a second hand series 1 from Nad. I started it for the first time in about 4 weeks which was a bit stuttery and chuggy. But when she heated up she was running perfectly. I thought it was great until I stopped at the petrol station, filled her up with optimax just to find that she wasnt going to start. So I put the alarm off and on to cancel that as a problem, but when I restarted again, with a bit of throttle it came on. So I drove home and intentionally stopped the engine while nipping in to test it when I got out. Wo…

As many of you may know, my bro-in-law has a black UK auto which I've been to a couple of meets in. The car has been off the road SORNed for a while and has recently been started up again. Problem is there is now zero drive from the auto box in drive, reverse, 1st or 2nd gears :( The car was previously driving well and had no problems at all. We have followed the auto box self diagnostics but cannot get any flashing lights from the diag :( Have checked the ATF fluid (hot and cold) and all looks good here as well. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what we might try next? CheerZ Steve :)

help, not really a serious problem but whenever i have to slam on the brakes to come to a standstill the car stalls :confused: as i drive in London this happens at least once every journey :rant: is it a problem with the box? torque convertor? cheers in advance

Im assuming the little pop - up things under the targa roof is some kind of wind deflector type thing. Does it actually do anything or can i just bin them ? Not massive weight saveing but they dont look great and dont seem to do much. (searched the wieght forums, but it got a bit too aggresive for me with ripping out seats etc.. have removed the extra weight in the boot lid and hoping to bin the above, just wondering if there is anything else obvious ?

Team, Thought you might want some pics of my new custom made pipe as an alternative look to the many options out there. Its a full stainless de-cat system in 2.5 inch pipe (not excessively droney but still good flow) with custom back boxes designed specifically for good flow and good sound conservation. It sounds cool but will still sound cool after a 300 mile M-way trip which was my design brief. :hyper: Think opinions may be polarised on the 'look' but I like it. Was wondering what the external diameter of the boost jets are. I've turned some up at work on the lathe and currently they are 6mm. Roughly the same size as a 0.22 bullet. Cheers

ok i want one, the tailgate replacement tubs from the zed centre. how much effort/money would it cost to fit one on a LWB z? anyone done it?

For gauges to go from the centre console to: oil pressure/temp water pressure/temp boost The ones a want only come in capillary and 7ft, 9ft and 12ft lengths Which lengths would I want?

Guys it as cold as witches tit here this morning and I took the Z on the school run :eek: what i heard all the way there and back was that horrible graunching from the front paasenger side suspension. In order to solve this problem which has been around for a while, (both sides on and off mostly on cold mornings), My car has been fully re-bushed, got brand new upper control arms and new dampers all round. :headvswal I just cannot think what the F£*% it is that is still squeaking. I push down on the wing and it squeaks sounds 10X worse inthe car. Now getting paranoid about tension rods shearing off the lower control arms etc. (mind going everywhere). I get a shimmy …

hi guys, i'm looking to remove my viscious fan,is there an electric fan kit for the zed or is it a universal thing? also i will be running a lightened underdrive pulley which i hear slows down the water pump,should i upgrade my radiator at the same time to stop any overheating? thanks in advance :bow: Paul

Thinking of upgrading the factory radio on my zed. Does the wiring have the standard isoblock connectors or do I need to buy an adapter?

Has any one had there arches rolled so far as to make a flare on the arch . I know you have to becareful as to how far you go with the arch roller before you split the paint heat needed.I like this drift look low with wide rear wheels or big spacers or low offset wheels - ofset is good.

Took the little yellow cap off and pulled that plastic checker out. Blew all the water out of the little slots and put it back it and pulled out to check. Seems like it miles too high?!?!?! Is there a overflow pipe or do I need to worry about it??

Full body kit, round rear light conversion (not Lambos tho). You pulled off outside Infinity/Motorcycle City and headed off towards the A331. Anyone here??? Mark
