Need help in replacing my stock auto shifter stick with another one (this one is leather from a series 2). I had a crash course from Chunk but have totally forgotten what was said as I was high on coke (no, I meant coca cola, Chunk please vouch for me).

 

Now what is the easiest and painless way to do this ? Would it be asking too much for a do it yourself step by step instruction ?

i thought it was just 1 screw on the backside of it and twist and pull

Thanks but I need info on the removal of an auto shifter stick. How do I take it out ? I mean where are the screws ? There are none on the the handle etc.

there should be 2 screws on the stalk if i remember (ages since i did mine)

there is also a screw on the underside of the main button to release the park

it should then pull out (careful as its spring loaded)

then the wires are self explanatory

i can't remember if the screws are hidded behind a small cover

but get the auto stick into 2nd and you should see it clearly
