  1. Just swapped my engine and I am noticing everything now. I noticed the plastic trim around the Auto Shift, where the power/hold etc is situated gets quite hot. Not that hot you cannot touch it but I would guess about 75 to 80 degrees. This may have always been the case but do not recall it prior to the engine change. Basically just want to know if others also find theirs is the same so I dont have to worry about it. Thanks! :nana2:

Hi guys I finally fitted some decat pipes and although i was sceptical about buying from ebay (stores.ebay.co.uk/2fast2cool2 Exhausts) they were exceptional quality, fitting and customer service. I must admit i did not enjoy the 12 hours it took to do (my first time doing anything on my zed) - but it has got to be one my best mods and so far no sign of any blue smoke - touch wood. The thread was just to say thanks for all the useful hints and advice - couldnt of done it without this site Cheers

I've just installed an aftermarket boost gauge.. I've got manually boost adjustment in the engine room for each turbo. No matter how much i turn on them i only a boost that's 0.5 bar...??.. Had the boost controller checked at a garage to see if they where installed correct.. They where.. Checked for any error code. Got code 55. So no problem there either.. :headvswal I've got some fuel smell from the engine. got that cause it to run in saftey mode?? And I've also got a collant leak from the hoses in front( going to replace). Can this cause saftey mode without any error code to apear??

Thanks guys for all your help and tips/advice as fitted two struts to the rear and new springs all round. The pain in the arse was using the spring compressors ***k me they take ages to use......unless you've got a compressed air socket set of course! Haven't really tried it yet but with the new Eibach's it sits lower and feels better on steering and harder on handling. Roll on the next upgrade???????

Hi, I've got a HICAS boss now, fits fine, only problem is I can't put the copper contact disc back on (the one that is fitted as standard). Therefore, I've only got one connection out of two from the back of the horn, the one that connects via a plug (which sits at 12 o'clock) into the HICAS unit. Any ideas how I can connect this other point up, I assume that it would be the earth to complete the circuit? I've checked out loads of threads but no-one else seems to have had this problem, perhaps I should take a drill and/or blade to the copper contact disc and make it fit behind the new steering wheel? Thanks in advance. John

Sorry to ask about a pretty french tin shed but its my dad's :) I was driving my dad's Citroen Xantia turbo diesel ('93). When driving back home only the headlights worked. After 2 miles all the electrics stopped working and lots of white smoke came out of the bonnet. So i stopped the car. Until i did that the car rann fine. I tried to start the engine but it would not turn over. Me and dad used a charged spare battery but it would not turn over. Once we tried to start the engine in gear. The engine bucked back on its mounted that would seem to indicate the starter motor is ok. Any ideas plz.

I was examining the back of my engine whilst replacing the idle air hose (removed in the picture) and i noticed the hose underneath is kinked, now surely this is a bad thing for flow etc. What is in this hose before i go pulling it off and replacing it with fuel-soluble silicone or such like? My guess is plunum coolant? And just for knowledge purposes what is the hose just behind it and where does it go? ( I havent examined, just noticed in the picture) Many thanks.

  23. Hi guys and girls, im basically after someone skilled in fabrication fiberglass etc to help me intergrate my car pc screen to the zed. Clearly im willing to pay and have the screen and a spare zed center section available. The effect im after is something along the lines of the 350z (pictures attached) with a screen cover for when i leave the car. Looking at the install on the face of it almost looks as if the 350z section would fit in the 300 double radio slots. Only thing is the 350 section looks to be alot more curved than the straight lines of our zeds, and basically im not convinced my fabrication / fiberglass skills are upto it. If anyo…

Hi just bought my first 300zx. As ive said in previous posts its a UK manual TT with full history etc etc. Now i bought the car knowing it only had a suspension upgrade, turbo timer and hks induction kit. It now turns out its Got Twin Hybrid turbos. Ive taken it to my local nissan dealership for a service and the guy said its not got standard turbos as there is hardly any lag and its quicker than the ones he's seen before. Now can someone please enlighten me on these? I wanted a standard engine with full history as i wanted to get a reliable one as possible. Will these turbos be harder on the engine or is it a good upgrade. The car has 109000 on it wi…
