General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Doing manual conversion and got to taking the exhaust off. When I got to the cats I couldnt remove a wire thats going into it, couldnt find anything in the manual about it so snipped them cos the pipes were in the way to work under the car. Q. What are the wires that go to the cat and does it make any difference cutting them? Cheers Marc

Can you get a top tint front screen for the zed maybe a bronze /bronze or a bronze/ blue .Im sure ive seen them before .Did uk cars get them as standard i know uk cars have blue glass .thanks taff.

According to datascan my water temp is 110c !!!!! the temp gauge on the dash stays in the middle. I have recently cleaned the temp sender as i was getting code 13, i get code 55 my question is if the sender is not faulty what could cause such high temps? I will buy a new sender & try that

hi guys n gals just a quick question. i have a loudish whurring noise coming from my gearbox when i have my foot on the clutch especially when the car is cold. pretty sure it's the release bearing but my question is can i just replace the release bearing or should i do the whole clutch? cheers alex

Hi, i have been searching through previous posts but couldnt see a full answer for this (although I apologies if this is because of my ignorance). I seem to be hitting a "wall" when accelarting through the gears. I am still getting used to the car's full capabilities and have taken my time in easing it in (since having a recoditioned engine put in). I have done all the recommended mileage about 4000 miles of it with the upmost care and have spent another thousand opening it up slowly. 1 for the fear of damaging it and 2 for the fact that it has an awful lot of power anyway. But now I am trying to gauge it's full capabilities it stops at 3rd gear - 6200rpm and 4…

Im thinking about putting 2 dumpvalves on my Z,, are these hard to fit? ive located the blow off valves but seems like it will be hard to get to them. :confused:

Anyway, Nissan Sport Magazine USA have just run a competition for this quarter's edition and my car was chosen! will a remapped auto ecu work ok in a manual car?

Ive got it installed but all the settings are off so need someone who knows what they are doing to help me set it up as ive heard it needs to be done while driving. A few :duffer: tokens of course to say thanks :D

i have just bought my tt is standard apart from twin exhaust and air filter but i seem to be getting detonation when at full boost in second and sometimes third im also finding that the car is going into safety mode and restricting the boost but is fine mafter i switch ignition off and on any suggestions would be appreciated thanx

I know it's not strictly in the right section, but it's a technical question rather than general chat!! Basically, my brother in laws parents have an S Reg Corsa and the alarm's playing up - going off randomly. They're in their 80's and the garage are trying to charge them £400 to replace the unit. I've had a scout around the internet and it seems that the 'powersounder' in the n/s wheelarch has an internal battery which, when it fails, causes the alarm to trigger. There's supposed to be a way of replacing the battery itself, but if you damage the unit the car will auto-immobilse and need to be reset with the vauxhall diagnostic tool. So... does anyone kno…

Hello, am sorting out doing some work on my car, the engine is a 1995tt; the transmission is auto and the body 1992. High on the list is replacing the engine wiring loom. I understand that the wiring loom is no longer made for this year, and not possible to get new. Thus, I am wondering what my options are. What exactly are the differences between the years? for instance I can find a new 1993ttauto loom. Is it worth putting in some aftermarket coil packs like Splitfire's offerings, and changing the injectors to a loom which is available? I know that plug replacememts are available, however I really do wish to replace the entire loom from the ECU back. …

My latest car I am told is fitted with an AB Flug front bumper and the side & flasher light assemblies are fitted behind it with a plastic lens screwed in front to make it look better visually. To change a bulb is a nightmare, i.e. remove bumper which as you know is not a 10 minute job. Does anyone know what lights would fit in the aperatures provided that could then be removed from the front without having to take the bumper off. :(

Is the TT fuel pump is a bosch, and what is the bosch number? Is it rated to 255lph? I have a NA Fuel pump and a NA fuel controller will the TT units fit "bolt on"?? Do I have to do modification to make it fit???
