General Discussions - 300ZX Related

does anybody have a n/a they dont use everyday? my TT has been off the road that long, i've sold every car i had, and im driving the n/a daily. i was wondering if anybody had one as a weekend car. its nearly as bad on fuel than the TT, 100 miles to £20!

so how did you do it boys did you splice into the original connector? wire for wire and then tee the fuel supply in tank? and make it so you can just drop the two pumps into the tank? sounds like a good way to do it as im finding external pumps a bit noisey and they make me nervous

Theres a funny noise :) Im completely new to turbo's/turbo'd cars so I dont know what they are ment to sound like etc But when accelerating in low revs for exmaple 20 to 25 in 3rd gear, or 30 to 35 in 4th gear there seems to be a funny noise coming from the engine (i think?) like a whirring, i wanna say raspy yet rattly? I could nail the car from 10 to 50 or whatever in second and the noise wont be there. Cheers in advance Pete.

this will sound so daft ..... but after driving my zed for a while i get a smell coming into the car through the air vents and it smells like " celery " ive checked all over inside the engine bay and can find nothing ive even had all the air pipes out under the dash ive taken it to a couple of garages last week and the description of the smell ranges from fruit to the illegal green smokey stuff.............im totally baffled by this ( this is no joke ) anyone else got a similar problem and before anyone says its not B.S cheers in advance matty

Was up santa pod this weekend and noticed an out of control muppet behind the wheel of a black 300 tt drifting around the wet and muddy campsite. Was this muppet you?

Well TBH I expected she would. I haven't started the car since November last year, I had to jump start her yes but turned the key and she fired up. Plus no apparent leaks from radiator. On the down side my heater and windscreen wipers are temporarily out but that's more than likely down to Gaz and Neil when they removed the carputer! Only joking guys, but possibily just a loose wire under the dash. I will have a look another day. Next get her MOT'd and somebody may buy her!

Hi guys, i bought a Blitz exhaust temp gauge from ebay and comes with all wiring and sensors.. But where exactly do i fit the sensor on the Z and how how I do it? Regards Rob

come to fit my volks today and the socket wont go down the holes :headvswal :headvswal the hole size is 25mm so what nuts do i need to enable a socket to get in there :confused: fast replys appreciated guys as need to order and fit before weekend

Got this annoying squeeking coming from the front drivers side, its not evident over large bumps in the road, just when i'm driving along normally, would a tension rod bush cause this ???? Its really getting on my tits. the front wheels have been of so much recently I cant bear to take it off again.

I believe the are Enkei Racing but I have looked on their site and cannot see them on there. Probably stopped producing them I expect. One of the center caps has come out the middle of the alloy so I just need to get hold of a new one. Anyone got any ideas of where I might be able to get this from?? Cheers

Hey Guys Recently I bought a 300zx two days ago. Its done just over 80k so I think I should book in a major service with cambelt change. Could someone give me a rough quote on how much i should be paying for a major service and cambelt change, and if its cheaper to goto a Nissan Garage or find somewhere else? Is there any specialists who deal in 300zx in the south of england as I think specialist tools are needed for a cambelt change that not every garage has. Sorry for so many questions im new to this car. Jimmy G
