Folks, Would anyone be scared to take a 1993 N/A Z32 2+2 on a long drive (round distance approx 1,000 miles)? I'm going to Le Mans next week and there's a chance that my 260Z (which I had been planning to go in) won't be ready in time, so I might take the Z32 instead. I know the Z32 will be faster and more comfortable than the 260, but at least with the 1978 car I know that most things can be fixed by the side of the road! Am I mad to consider it? Cheers, Tony

Finally managed to get under the zed tonight and remove the gearbox sump and filter, gave it a good clean - didnt find any bits but the oil was a bit sludgey. 2 hrs or so start to finish. Put it all back together and, wow doesn't it fookin shift :hyper: Bites nice and cleanly in all gears n changes sweet as a nut :D I originally thought the box was a duffer cos it lost drive all one day so I got myself a spare autobox as a precaution, then decided to go manwell and got a spare manwell box too. Looks like all 3 boxes are A1 :hyper: It goes to show that we tend to think the worst of our zeds til; we get our hands dirty :x: I'm still going ah…

Hi all, I am looking to get into 300zx ownership. I would apreciate your advice and opinions on a couple of cars i was going to look at. One in the for sale section "Awesome pearl white 300zxtt " and another on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270127500998&category=18238&sspagename=rvi:1:1v_buy After reading up on the FAQ's on what to look for i was going to look for a manual but most seem to be auto's, i have read about the poss issues with the auto box's which put me off at forst but please feel free to talk me round. Any advice help or opinions good or bad would be greatly apreciated

Having recently taken my Car to a Japanese 300zx specialist in Cardiff, it seems to have developed some interesting characteristics. Start her this evening as the battery is dead (was off to halfrauds to get a new one) and there was a good awful ticking noise from behind the glove box. Took it off to have a look a could see that a piece of metal appears to be trying to move and some sort of box it was attached to. Any ideas what this is and how I can stop the incescent ticking? I think I'll be going further afield for anything on this car from now on. Regards Paul

I have a mate whos also a mechanic and used to work with me in a Garage! His son owns a 300zx and has just installed 740cc injectors still using a 370cc tuned jwt eprom but he has divided his air intake so one side has the AFM on plus filter and the other side has just a filter on (no AFM)? He told me this is possible and is running fine? even though the balance bar is still connected? Apparently and i suppose it makes sense up to a degree, the afm only reads one side of the intake so the 740cc injectors squirt the right amount of fuel! is this really possible? He is running a aftermarket walbro high flow pump too? I know alot about different injection systems a…

I have just looked at a mates 93 LWB TT as he complained that the CD head unit was U/S no sound and was going to Halfords for a new one! Having swopped over with a known working unit there is still not a whisper. Is their another amp? If so where is it? Does it have a fuse? If so where? My own 1990 NA LWB runabout has sounds but pretty crap by todays standards. Has replacement speakers of reasonable standard and Sony head unit. I assume this has another amp also. A readable/ printable wiring diagram would also usefull.
