what are the best mods to make a z accelerate hard off the line, I had a good day at the dragstrip today, terminal speed of 108 was okay but my launch times were awful, reaction times are bad , but for me that is to be expected, is there anything i can do to make it develop power a lot earlier ?

So I had to drive to work yesterday as i was working in reading instead of central london. This has happened about 3 times in the year I have been here, usually I am on the train. So nice chance to drive the car mid week. Sat in stop start traffic somehow I managed to drive my baby into the back of a 4x4 :'( I looked at a new shop which had opened for 2 seconds too long as we started to pull away, and the fella in front stopped after moving only a cars length. When i looked forward I had a few feet but somehow I missed the brake pedal!!?? I am still trying to work out how it happened but I am so annoyed at myself. So his new 4x4 had some snapped plasti…

Hi guys, myself and the mechanic were just debating on the quickest + easiest way to replace manifolds, turbo's and downpipes. He thinks removing / dropping the front subframe will be the easiest way?? Bear in mind that he's doing me a favour and needs his lifts / workshop space for other jobs, so it's basically whichever way has the shortest lift / space time:thumbup1: What do the mechanically Z experienced people on here reckon??

So following on from my previous thread I've now bought a good used box and will be fitting it over the weekend. I've got a couple of questions that I can't seem to find the answer to... How much ATF does the box take INCLUDING torque converter? I understand I've got to half fill the torque converter before installation- do I fill it through the front shaft? Are there any other awkward bits that I should be aware of? Cheers

So I'm wondering how normal this is, as it's something my car does occasionally. Sometimes when it first fires, it applies some serious throttle input. This morning, for instance, it must've hit about 3,000 RPM. I'm sure the neighbours must have loved that at 6 AM, and it wasn't even a particularly cold morning. I know in general this is pretty normal behaviour on a cold start, but surely a VG30 shouldn't do it that much?

Finally got my new tanks fitted and re-plumbed everything to try and sort scavenge return issue. If it all works I'll tidy it up then find a better air filter solution. Thinking of a 'shaker scoop' like the old muscle cars used to have :)

My Zed came with slightly lowered suspension, which gives it nice stance and seems very well sorted even on British B roads. Only problem is every so often it decides to squeak from the offside front corner. Does it mostly when conditions are humid (i.e. All this summer!) and the squeak is there over every bump. Slightly ruins the effect of driving a lowered black Zed when it sounds like a Model T Ford is coming down the road! I've had it looked over by no less than Jimmer from Powerzed who says the suspension I have, while good quality, is bushless - and sometimes they just squeak. His only suggestion is to go back to stock suspension to cure the noise. Given that J…

Hey guys, Not sure if this is the right part of the forum it seems a little here and there so if i am in the wrong place let me know and i will move it!! I have been a fan of the 1993 300zx for quite a while the outstanding style and power was just something i could not forget so..... I wen't and treated myself to a Nissan 300zx about a year ago in a metallic red colour and don't get me wrong great all round car handles like a dream for it's age, very fast and the sound that comes out is just amazing... Beautiful peace of machinery. Had a few little bumps along the way but nothing to serious. Any way i am looking to add the a spoiler i prefer the look when the 3…
