Posted September 24, 20168 yr So I had to drive to work yesterday as i was working in reading instead of central london. This has happened about 3 times in the year I have been here, usually I am on the train. So nice chance to drive the car mid week. Sat in stop start traffic somehow I managed to drive my baby into the back of a 4x4 :'( I looked at a new shop which had opened for 2 seconds too long as we started to pull away, and the fella in front stopped after moving only a cars length. When i looked forward I had a few feet but somehow I missed the brake pedal!!?? I am still trying to work out how it happened but I am so annoyed at myself. So his new 4x4 had some snapped plastic, but i have only shoved the bumper on the zed. I think a couple of brackets have bent slightly as the headlight seems slightly inset, but being so low I kind of went under him. The only reason im not mortified is that I I I 99 spec bumper I the shed waiting to be sprayed, but it will be a black mark against my protected no claims. Drove to reading and back and she seemed fine so i am hoping it is cosmetic. Sigh....
September 24, 20168 yr Ah man, that's just rotten luck bud, at least it's not too serious, happens the best of us , so stop beating yourself up about it:yes:
September 24, 20168 yr Hi what bad luck, but lucky it went under his bumper. 2002 Porsche C2 996 3.6 1991 Nissan 300zx TT Project 1995 Nissan 300zx TT Crashed 🥲 1997 Jaguar XK8 Scraped ☹️
September 24, 20168 yr Author Yeah could have been worse. 7 years without a fault incident so guess it isnt to bad. Now as for missing the brake this does worry me, as it isnt the second time I have done that in the zed. There Is a good 3inch gap between the accelerator and brake so I am thinking It might be time to some larger aftermarket pedals. Nothing garish but just bigger!
September 24, 20168 yr Ah shucks, bad luck mate. From the pictures all I can really see is a bent bumper but I can always grind off some brackets off the breaker if needs be.
September 24, 20168 yr Author Thank ali. Also is your car an import? I would be interested in getting the headlight bulbs from you if they still work? Mainly dipped beam

September 25, 20168 yr These things happen to human beings, don't beat yourself up. No major damage. Its easy done mate and the damage is not to bad. Yup - as above mate! Damage is minimal - and hopefully the 4x4 driver isn't going to bang in a spurious personal injury claim, raising the cost of your insurer's payout beyond what's reasonable. Happens to us all at some point.....:flowers: I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
September 26, 20168 yr Staring at the reflection of the car in the new shop window for too long eh? :(
