Some dude is selling a set of ksport coilovers that I'm interested in, the only thing I'm skeptical about is the front spring rates, ksport kontrol pro, it says 12kg front and 6.3kg rear.

All the other coilovers I'm looking at for street driving has 8/6kg. Is 4kg more in the front anything to worry about, I like my ride and don't want it to be to harsh. My old Z had Megan ez Street with the 8/6 springs and it was a pretty nice ride.

For the street that would be a pretty harsh ride. You can buy different springs and swap them I believe but then it would probably be cheaper to buy your preferred spring rate to start.

Can you settle for a very harsh ride or do you want a more pothole friendly suspension.

I think that a rate that high will make it feel as if you have no suspension at all. no way in hell I would think about that for the road,

12 front 6.3 rear? I agree it sounds too harsh for the road but those rates seem odd, I'd expect it to be like 12/10, 10,8 etc. I'm going down to a 6/4k as my current ones are just too harsh for the crap roads round here and the wife now refuses to get in the car. To also made the car "skippy"

It says so on the ksport website and czp website. Sounds really stiff. Yes I need pothole friendly suspension, stock or close to stock is best for the winter weathered mountain roads here and the 8/6 combination that was on the megans where quite good at dealing with all I threw them at.

Stephen have you adjusted your dampening? 8/6 shouldn't be very skippy.

There a higher rate than 8/6 currently, can't remember what they are though. The ones I've got are only height adjustable not adjustable dampening.

Hi guys! I have owned my Z for coming up to 7 years now and there's just a slight mist of oil on one of the front shocks.

How much can I expect to pay for a new set of stocks? I'm quite the novice with tuning but I'm hoping to learn from visiting this site, hopefully I can then pass knowledge on to others :)

Hi Matt,

Are you talking about coilovers or stock suspension. Depending who you go to, usually £550+ for good quality coilovers. MeisterR coilovers have a 10% discount on here with 8/6 spring rate with rubber top mounts but I haven't checked to see how much they are currently.

What are you looking for in the new set, handling, comfort, ride height?

If you want you could slap a post up in newbies to introduce yourself...

You can have my OEM fronts if you want ( they are just sitting gathering dust at the moment and will only go to the scrap man if you don't want them) they are good to go. You will need to pick them up from Codsall . Oh also got a HKS foam intake ( used ) and an APEXI type cone filter ( Brand new but now mounting plate) if you want them. Oh yeah also a good set of hardly used Copper Spark plugs , series 1 PTU , Standard rear shocks and some knackered ( Leaking TEIN Rear, you may be able to get them re furbed or just sling em). think thats about it , but do let me know 07929159828.

Hello Alic, thanks for getting back to me :). For just cruzing around the midlands, visiting some car shows and stuff I've been happy with the stock shocks all round. So untill I can get some more cash I think stock is the way to go. What are the they rated at? I herd 6/4 mentioned ?? Sounds about right for these roads haha.

Hello Sayers, thanks for your info. So are you just giving that stuff away? The car has been slightly tuned but I'm keeping

It a stock ride I think, for now anyway. I may be able to pop over on one of the Sundays coming up as I work staggard shifts, if thats any good?

No money is required for said items, to me its junk taking up room and gathering dust, better its used.

Ok cool, I have your number now so I can let you know when I can pop over.:thumbup1:

Yep, will give you a text tomorrow to arrange time. If weather is fine, I'll bring Zed :)
