Stereotypes that 300zx owners face? I can imagine that many must associate Z owners with the boy racer crowds. Although it seems that the majority of the members of this forum seem to be well over the boy racer age group (no offence!). If there is a common conception that Z owners are boy racers, then does this make life harder when it comes to dealings with the fuzz? I know that generally the police don't cut any slack for boy racers, but how do the police handle situations when it comes to Z owners? When I had the 330, I never had any trouble with police and never got stopped at any time during my ownership of that car. However, in my opinion the Z looks a bit mor…

I have non TT Jap import and the auto box for want of a better word is DEAD!! Everything was fine until this morning when I put it into gear and the revs go up but the car doesnt get any faster (well it does very slowly). Check the ATF fluid, was low but topped it up and same thing, so I think she is dead. I am looking for anyone in or close to Notts that has an autobox they can sell me that is known to be good and also fit it for me. Just tell me how much for the whole job! Am really desperate as I have no transport and my ex wife gave birth to our son today! HELP! Jon

Hey peeps, this is really starting to annoy me now, so any help would be well appreciated :-) Firstly, once warmed up, the idle is a bit slow, and can stall when not using the throttle (it's an auto) I found a couple of dodgy pipes, replaced them, it was ok for a bit, and now it's doing it again, idles fast slow fast slow, etc. Could the TPS be a factor? I have tried adjusting it, but it's either the same, or 500 rpm faster, within half a millimeter of movement, that is it, is that right? And also, I have relocated the dett sensor, if i leave the battery off over night, then start her for a few minutes, then do a diagnostic, it will come up with 34, but if i do …

Hi I noticed in the last few day, when it got really cold over here that the car would take much longer than normal to warm up. i.e heating kicked in much later. ( car never over heated though ) checked the radiator this morning and it was almost empty. So, leaving the engine runing I filled the radiator up and waited for the thermostat to open. When it did a considerable amount of water was drawn into the system but as I refilled the radiator up to compensate it started to trickle water from under the car, right hand side when stood in front of it, about 5 -10 inches in from the front wheel. I´ve had a cambelt, water pump etc change done about 10.000 miles ago …

as some of you know i got my finger out and finished my ipod holder, as it sits the now you push one end in so you can get it out from the other but what im thinking is getting on old electric wing mirror and a set of the switchs for it, strip the old mirror down and remove the motor from it that makes it fold in and use this to move a plate under the ipod so that it pushes it up for me, to control it id take the switch out of the controls that would normally fold the mirrors in fit it into the spare space on my existing controls like in the pic below thus being able to press it to lift it up ect. what do you think worth it? will it work? or just leave it lol
