ECU identification i have no23 with a knob on side with some jap writing .. 2 wires green coming of what seems to be a vairiable resistor.. any ideas what this is for ??? got ecu out as new chip coming tommorow and just interested what its for. also chip reads m105ada5 is this a standard chip cheers:)

on my way up the M1 today I noticed a menacing car catching me in my rear view mirror. I pulled over to see a grey Nissan GTR pass me. V** GTR I pulled in behind it and away we went. Now traffic was not the best so we were doing far less than motorway speeds. When the GTR got some clear motorway he floored it - I was suprised at my ability to keep up. Over the next 30 or so miles we came up behind porsches, TVR's and all manner of wannabe super cars, all of which were dispatched as if they were 1L metros. My UK 1992 tt Z is running 15psi, induction kit, decat exhaust and a Mines ecu. The stock clutch is now slipping when it begins to come on boost in 3rd and 4th. Whats the best clutch to go for, also is there anybody here local to Stoke on Trent that can do it for me? Perhaps just after the new year... Also whats the going rate for a clutch change in a Zed? I had a full respray on my white 300ZX 18 months ago, however, just recently the paint in certain areas has gone very rough and looks almost as though it has has a fine layer of frozen water on it. I Have washed and dried the whole car and concentrated on the affected areas with a bodyshop friendly paint cleaner but it has made no difference. What has caused this? Is the paint knackered? Is there anything I can do to prevent further paint deteriation? Can I have the paint flattened back to how it was or does it need another full hit? Cheers guys, Dan

in abit of a situation .......gettin tired of puttin all my spair money into fixin all the different problems on a weekley basis on ma z ...only had it bowt 6 month n gettin abit tiresome now. a have been wantin a tvr for as long as i can remember bt a still love the z...now comes the problem of what to do ...do i sell the z n use the money as a deposit on a tuscan or do i spend the 20 k it wud cost me to buy the tuscan on rebuildin the z bottom to top with the best of everythin ( or stick it on the next transporter to japan to top secret n get thm to work there magic haha):cool:

Hi i have a n/a manual which is running rich, and looses power when under throttle also idles at 1k when warm am at a loss at what try next, already tried plugs and coils fine, had new maf, new temp sensor checked timing checked for intake leaks(can't find none) ecu gives no faults, help please been like this since i got it and doing my head in now thanks gareth

With the daughter at her god parents this weekend. I decided to make a "wet MAF preventer". I started with a piece of carboard to get a template and then used a sheet of acrylic sheeting as it is water proof. I know it looks a little crap now but if it works I will look as using it as a template and maybe getting another one done in stainless steel with rubber edges. Here are some pics anyway.

As posted before, my auto box is fooked, I was driving down the Mway (about 70 ish) when the revs suddenly went up, I realised my overdrive had stopped working. traveled another 10 miles and pulled into a car park. Tried to reverse and it was like my back wheels had locked up and wouldnt reverse. couldn't go forward so had no choice but to wellie it and the car did move backward jerkily jumping off the ground I think something must have snapped inside the box. set off forward and 1st and 2nd gear sounded like 2 pieces of metal being rubbed together (a bit like the noise you would get if you had no brake pads and it was metal on metal) when it eventually got into 3rd (woul…

right, my horn has been playing up since i got the car, it was quiet then loud then it failed then it was back on but quiet agen now itts faild agen so i baut a new un from halfrauds and it wouldnt work, iv got 12 v a at the cable and chassis when the hown is pushed and the horntakes current so i waggled it thinking there was a bad earth and it worked perfectly for 2 or 3 pushes so i shut the bonnet packed up and buggered off then i tested it at the end of the road and it just made a little squeek and then faild agen.........wtf??? still got 12v at the chassis and wire and the horn still passes current so what could it be?? at the same time i found a weird switch th…

Ive been working out what i want to do and am going to do to the zed over the winter, Fit New RPS clutch, poly bushes, prop bearing, cromed headlights, HID kit, full engine bay silcone hoses, polished plenium, spray front bumper and bits around the car, Re do all exterior trim with plastidip, Thats not including breaking the jap one, Its never ending.................. Whose doing what else...................?

I'm pulling the engine in the new year. I've started stripping a few bits in the garage before it goes to the workshop. what I was thinking was can I remove the plenum before the engine gets pulled or will this need to be in place and remove it after? If I can remove the plenum before hand, I have read that you need to remove the fuel lines etc. But to do this you need to purge the fuel system. Problem being that I have taken all the intercooler pipes out, air filter is off, broken connector on the TPS etc. Basically its not running. What I need to know is there another way of removing the fuel lines etc without having to start the engine to purge the sys…

Hi all, my name is Alex and I´m from Argentina. I allready had an honda Prelude VTI (197 horsepowers) and now I´m looking for more power. The best idea is to get a 300 TT but now I dont have that money so maybe I will get an aspired 300. I need to know if the aspired 300 has a significan more power (I´m not meaning final velocity, just pull power) than the prelude vti. I know that the 300 has 222 horsepowers but has more weight. Someone help me with this? Maybe in the future I can remapp de ECU of the aspired 300 and get more Hp´s, how many? do you know? Thanks all!!!!

well finally got round to finishing my ipod holder tonight, just need a new ipod to go in it now as mine is goosed. what do you reckon of it, im pretty pleased how it turned out. looks a slightly different colour from the console in the pics but its just the flash reflecting off the plastic is actually a really good match

Still umming and arring about EBCs. I'd still like a small Old-skool boost controller, but found out that A'pexi manufacture the AVCR in black. Just wondering, can someome measure the dimensions of it? Just want to see how big it is and whether I can fit it somewhere descretely in a recess.

I've tried to insert an image on this, but don't know if it will work! There is a T-piece on one of the vacuum pipes going to the IC (i think) on the left hand side, it is bunged up at the moment, is that where you would connect a boost gauge to? There was one in the car when I bought it, but wasn't connected, if I can find it I'll connect it up, could do with a genuine reading! Cheers...

I've just been looking through the paperwork that came with my Zed (Trudy) :-) and there is a reciept for the fitting of 1mm boost jets, what do these do, where do they go, and is there any power benefit? It has a Mines ECU which I whink was fitted at the same time, other than that (as far as I know) she's stock... I've done a full re-build, 1mm oversized pistons as the bore was crackered, and re-con stock turbos. After she's run-in, what's the estimated BHP? It's a Jap import 92 auto, just curious :-) Cheers...
