Havnt used my zed for a couple of weeks, and yesterday decided to take it for a little drive.

 

After about 6 miles of steady driving I stopped the car and was talking to a mate.

 

After about 7 or 8 minutes I noticed the offside exhaust started to very lightly blow blue smoke out. I switched the engine off after that.

 

Drove it home and let it idle at home to see if it did it again, however,it didnt.

 

Whats caused it to do it in the first place? Are my turbos on their way out?

Blue smoke = Oil burning. In order of cost to fix, the most likely culprits are :

 

PCV Valves

Valve stem seals

Turbo seals

 

Your best bet would be to have the PCV valves replaced and fingers crossed thats cured it.

I dont know why, but my old zed would smoke if you let it idle for too long then it would smoke if started up again soon after.

Never smoked under any other circumstance.I'm led to believe the oil pools into turbos+ if the seals are worn its drawn in.I'm willing to be proven wrong though :smw:
