...please kindly ram her off the road  She very nicely decided to chuck a truck tyre at the front of my car at 70mph on the M1 ripping my bumper off and cracking my wing. She then proceeded to drive off at an advanced rate. Needless to say i'll be ringing the police tomorrow :slap:

Another very satisfied customer here-I've never had such a good time at a garage! In all seriousness it was the first time in 15 years I haven't felt patronised when taking a car in for a general appraisal and some work. Thanks Jeff and team, see you next time! Bob

Spoke to a nice gentleman at zcentre he went through the engine over the phone. he said it sounds like i am missing an electrical unit that sits horizontally to the engine near the turbos and is cylinder shaped. he said i need to find these replacements however he also asked me to check for the recirculation valves under the head light panel. can someone show me what these look like and wether they are there? he said if i had the original air filter box it would of been under that

Just got a message left by Phil and the engine is now running! He has managed to piece together an exhaust to get it going from some bits i left with him!!! Top Bloke! He is now doing the final bits such as headlights and front bumper etc to get it to MOT standard. I still have to sort out the Driveshaft issue and a couple of other bits but it will soon be on the road. Looks like i have an Inland empire TT automatic driveshaft for sale! Then i will have to get the AEM on to it and have it mapped.

Well, as some of you gus know my car failed the Conzult balance test a couple of weeks ago... It has gone up to MR. F's today to be looked at and so far it's not looking good... Coil Pack swapped - No Difference... Fails the test hot or cold! The gut feeling is that it's an internal issue (sticking valve or worse) and I'm waiting on the results of a compression test tomorrow morning, as you can imagine I'm panicing a little now IF it is internal I'm not sure what to do, I spent £7K on the car from a member on here (not that I blame him) and it only had a rebuild 3000k miles ago. I can't really afford a rebuild after paying out so much for the car....

HELP! AA's on the way but it started sounding a bit dodge a few days ago, like the teeth were slipping a bit. now its gone the full hog and make a horrendous grinding noise when trying to start. Could the starter have come loose? I could hear some jingling and noise when it started getting ropey. Is it easy to get to the starter to check? I don't even know where to look for it :o

hi i have owned my 300zx for 3 years now and it has just failed its mot. here is what it failed on 1. rear n/s brake line showing signs of corrosion 2. o/s front shock absorber leaking 3. fog light not working the garage has quoted 2 days work and £650 to repair this but I think he's taking me for a ride. I use the car to get to work everyday and cant afford that bill or to be without my car right now because my girlfriend is about to have our first child. is any of this work easy enough to do myself (i'm not the best at car mechanics though), is £650 reasonable for this kind of work or do you think i should try getting it an mot at another garag…

need to remove air intake manifold and head to check cylinder linings( engine siezed) found most of the bolts but must have missed a few as it will not lift off, am I missing something. has anyone got the instructions for this as my service manual does not list where the bolts are holding everything together. am I just wasting my time and should I just buy another complete engine to drop in or am I better off lifting the complete engine out and performing surgery outside the engine bay. FYI its a 1990 twin turbo with manual gearbox. initially only bought the car for its wheels Volk split rim. but the car has grown on me so will be rebuilding it.

Ok. Just done a AUTO box diagnostic test. The sequence looks like this ___ _ ___ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ it says the long flash is not to be counted as it is the start of the sequence but I get a long flash then 1 short flash followed by another long flash and 8 smaller flashes. I have gathered that this must mean it is telling me two faults. If so then according to the code checker it means 1st fault: Revolution sensor 2nd fault: Gearbox Fluid Temperature sensor how can I fix these and would this be the cause of my car stop pulling when I boot it at high speeds… (older posts of mine) which I believed were a boost fault as between 60 – 9…

As my Z is fast approaching 120,000 miles now and I fear the worst of such things as turbo`s and timing belt I thought maybe a V8 conversion could be an option. I was looking for information on whether or not the standard Z 5 speed box would be compatible? Which V8 engine to go for? Who could actually do the conversion for me? And a rough estimate of costs? Thanks, Dan

hi all. my uk tt manwel go a bit hot and the head gasket on drivers side went pop. so ive stripped it down with the intention of replacing both head gaskets and also while i am on i would like to replace the smoking turbos. so the questions go which head gasket should i use? which turbo seals to use given the fact its decatted with a larger exhaust i see there is a lot of speak of removing egr gear and a direct feed bypass for the turbo water feeds. also i am contenplating repalcing the intercoolers and possibly the turbos but what a rough idea of what the experts might suggest as sensible mods, i can see that this could snowball ve…

Well I haven't really had a lot to write about or show piccy's of for a while now but things are finally moving  Bought a new compressor last week and ordered the bearings which were the two things holding me up. I finished gapping the rings and cleaning the pistons ready for the build which was the last job to do and was reasonably easy. They're all nice and tidy wrapped up in brown paper numbered up sitting in a box. I've made a change in the way i'm mounting the engine. The previous owner had made his own custom subframe and the steering rack had been stripped of all its pipes. Great idea but nightmare in practice when it came to getting the pi…

Iv tried everything else to cure my dett problem and was just thinking that my fuel pump might be the cause. its very noisey most of the time and may be causing it to run lean. might be way wrong but i am running out if ideas now. Already changed O2 sensors, checked timing belt and Adjusted Tps to 40 and fixed timing to 15 degrees. Oh also tried another ECU just to be sure. Put in a Octane boost as fuel here is crap. but might not have been a good brand. Have i missed something.
