Does anyone know the max size/dimensions of each of these that our cars can take without the need for modification to fit? Having had the engine rebuilt I was considering some bigger coolers/smics but not sure whats the biggest I can go. Any you have experience with would be appreciated too! Cheers in advance..

I can't get 3rd and 4th gear, looking through the manual, I have found 3 unit solenoid shift set, how would you test this set?.. rather than taking the gearbox to bits, is there any easy way to test it?.. and does the autobox ecu control it?.. Is it the ecu that controls the gears at speed range?.. and is it 3rd & 4th gear? Thanks

At the moment i'm staying in Nice in France and was able to bring the car along for a bit. Yesterday i went up into the mountains behind Nice and headed east across the Italian border before returning along the coast. It was the most amazing collection of mountains and valleys i've ever seen and has pretty much every type of road at some point or another. I've just had a load of suspension gear fitted and had it set up right by a race tuning shop so the Z felt absolutely amazing through everything from long fast sweeping turns to the 180 degree twists on the roads going down the sides of the mountains. For a 13 year old car i think it did pretty well. I'm pleased to …

Just been out to 'In N Out Express' at Cribbs causeway to get it regassed. Bloody system has a leak. Guys there can't find it via the engine bay and they only have shollow pits to inspect under the car. They are gonna book the car in with a specialist which is great. The downside is it could take all day to sort out meaning silly £££ :( Anyhow if any locals need aircon regassing, check these guys out. All very proffesional, clean & tidy - a bit like Protyre.

I've been scouring the net for a manual gear knob for my Z but amazingly can't find one! There are a few universal ones that can be secured with screws, but having used one in a previous car, they're useless. I need one that ideally is the original or similar that threads on to the stick. Tried ZCentre, Z1Motorsports, CZP, ebay etc., but no luck. Does anyone know where I can get one or have a spare they would like to sell? Thanks.

possibly a stupid question but is it ok to permanently remove the inner arch liner (specifically the front ones) - reason i ask is that after my larger wheels went on, there can be a slight bit of rubbing between the nearside tyre and one of the screws when im going over a bump in a particular direction. are there any potential drawbacks to not having the liner on - e.g. unprotected components?

No doubt a dull subject at the best of times, but with petrol more than £1/litre again, worth a discussion. Bought my Z NA a week ago and 180 miles later, thought I'd check the economy. Pleasantly shocked to get 27.6 mpg! This has included 50 miles in town (short, hard driving), the rest on the motorway. Personally, I don't believe it even though my measurement technique is very accurate and I have checked my calculations again. The reason I don't think it's right is: - first week with a new car is all about familiarisation; over revving, hard acceleration, gear changing at the wrong time etc. - town driving is very fuel hungry. My Mer E280…

I may have posted this before (it's a bad habit of mine, i know) but i am having det issues on high boost. I have had a full engine rebuild, Z1 GT525 tubs, divorced downpies, de-cat, exhaust, intake, jd chip, 550 venom injectors, godspeed smics, asi rad. Max boost is 14.5-15 psi, any more and i get the "coffee bean in a tin" sound. I thought with these mods i could achiveve at least 19psi? I can only think the injectors are maxing out or they are not up to it. Any advice/info will be a great help. Thanks people, Al.

Well my car is nearly all sorted and just waiting now on the brake master cylinder to have it spot on again! then will be up for sale (some time thru the week) now my thing is.. I would love the car to stay with a member of the zed club coz I know it would be well looked after and all that but as I live in Northern Ireland that might be a problem for the members coz most of yous are all based in England so my question is, is there any point putting a for sale add in the club or go straight to auto trader/pistonheads etc..?

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: ...as those of you who have read my various threads will know - ive been putting so much deliberation and thought into a) what bodykit to have, b) will my 19s fit, c) why are they rubbing/why wont they fit when theyre on with stock suspension, d) shall i have my bonnet cut for the vent/will rainwater pour into the engine bay and ruin the electrics?, e) will sideskirts ground themselves when i reverse into the driveway, f) what spacers shall i get if i need them, g) is it me or is the nearside suspension shat/will it fail the MOT on it, h) spending weeks and weeks researching and trying to find the paint code...... and on and on... well to…

My rear window trim seal has kind of pealed up at the corners (as below). It's been like it ever since I got the car 6 months or so ago. I've been told that the seals are no longer available new, and a second hand one is likely to be brittle and break if I tried to remove and fit it. Anyone any suggestions? Thanks, Phill
