Mine has just ground to a halt, torn the plastic belt to shreds, has anybody out there got a good replacement please?

  7. I have had my cousin (ex army mechanic) helping me a bit with my engine/service/update and he has been aware of my concerns regarding the timing belt going back on in the right place - and everything NOT going bang!! Hence my care with NOT removing the belt from the crank sprocket, and carefully lining up and marking everything prior to taking off everything to be polished/chromed/powder coated etc. :xxx::x: However, today he decided to stray a little from what I had asked him to do today (whilst I am at work), and he has removed the timing belt and I feel posibly faffed about with the position of the inlet/exhaust cranks as well!!!  I have lots of…

Both of my alarm fobs for the Zed have the rubbers perished, so after a bit of digging I've contacted a seller on eBay, who sells the same alarm as mine and states that he is a fitter of many years, to see if he knew where I could get some or even if he had any lying around! Well he's just contacted me back and says that they arn't available on their own (not surprised as Scorpion have gone out of business) so the only way he can help me is to take a couple out of a brand new alarm box and sell me just the rubbers.... for £10 + £2 P&P = £12 in total! Do you think that's a bit steep (as I'm sure he'll sell the alarm, with the fobs (just minus the rubbers) to some u…

Jealous.......i think so.lol. only joking:D! Well i set off at 6:30 this morning and went through to edinburgh where my pal drove me down to sunderland to get my new toy. I comfortably feel ive bought one of the best examples of a zed that has been extremely well looked after. I would like to thank stella for being a top block and staying with his word he would sell to me as i showed proper intrest in the car and didnt waste his time after i gave him my offer on it. Cheers mate. So i showed off my impresive driving skills by stalling the car as i was leaving.............think the car felt sad.lol. But then it drove perfect for me coming home so i…

Turbo clarification, Just took the bumper off my red car to fit to my yellow run-around as its an NA bumper. I was able to see some writing on one of the turbos and I think it had M24. I have done a search and it comes up with garrets, would this be right or could they still be standard ones. Also are they any good??

coz Im gonna kill every last b*stard one of them!!!!!!! Every morning coming outside to find crows attacking my car! aparrently theyre in breeding season and attack refelections! they started attacking windows of house - the incessant tapping and flapping I handled - but the car, now thats different!!!! pic attached of the sorta sh*t im putting up with!! Was looking for a black car cover but seems I can only get weatherproofs in silver - gonna have to go and get one! Just about to take delivery tomorrow of missus's new car - a 56 plate sport freelander in gloss black!!!! - just paid £400 for that coating to protect paint - I can see that lasting all of…

  16. Hi team! From what I have read on other forums it seems very possible to remove the EGR whilst the engine is in and whilst the Plenum is off - helps a lot as well. My question is: I have no desire or wish to drop the tranny or do do any major removal beyond where I am at now; so I need a backup plan. Removing the two EGR pipes to the base of the plenum looks easy enough, if I can get the two/three bolts out that hold the actual EGR unit to the engine - thats good - but what if I can't remove the connection to the exhaust manifold? What are my options at that point? I have made blanks to cover the plenum connections so need a plan 'B' in case thats a…

Had these fella's sat in the garden shed for about a month now. Decided i wasnt to keen on the BBS RX-2's that came on the car. That coupled with them only being 255 wide on the rear pretty much made up my mind that bbs's needed to be removed. Before: After: I spent about half an hour looking at the rear wheels from different angles deciding if they stick out too far. Looking from the front, they look fine but when I looked from the rear, they appeared to sit miles out.

Evening All, As this week-end comes closer to the end. Would anyone(s) be able to shed some light relating to turbo failure symptoms. My main question being: Can turbos fail without giving any smoke through the exhaust, and typical tell-tell signs.. If so..can you notice this by the way the turbo sounds under load whilst driving the car and will performace be affected? Regards Kash

put one side on to see how they sat. Andrei did say the tyres protruded slightly on the rears but is a little too far for my liking. Also after a good and suprisingly long searching through the brake dust found the rim size and offset which explains the rears overhang. Shame really cos I liked the design a lot and could have got new polished sleeves to set them off. C'est La Vie :(
