  1. Yeah the garage near where I work had a brand new R6 and that looked amazing. Its a 600 right?? and apparently quicker than an R1?
  2. I raced a 320i Sport or something like that (only obvious BMs are M3s). It was brand new at the time and he was driving around like the car was gods gift. I was out in a N/A Mr2, gave him a little headstart then took the piss right out of him. Imagine getting beat from an Mr2, lol. Had a couple of encounters with BMWs in the Z too, mostly 330Cis or old M3s, to which have all been destroyed with the use of safety boost. Long live the monster!!! Dave G
  3. Supra lights, first time I have seen them on a Z. Actually, I quite like it. I dont know why people worry about cars off ebay. I have bought 3 cars that I seen on ebay. (never bought through it though). Never had 1 unexpected problem from the cars. Dave G
  4. I tried this out, f**ked the aircon control and had to order a new one lol. A little tip guys, when you see the little rubber cover on the board, it is there for a reason. I wasnt sure what it was for until I put the whole lot back together and suddenly found that the buttons did not work. Then I though whats missing, dam the rubber is used as the internal connections for the buttons. Gave up binned it, bought a new one (cost £450 new apparently, but Andy at supercar parts sold one for £30 or something, cant remember). Goodluck, take your time. Dave G
  5. OK shortlist so far: ZXR400 (top I think so far) VFR400 CBR600 SV650S In order that way I think. I will do more of a search. I think the SV650 looks nice, but doesnt have a sporty enough look, could just by my opinion from photos though. dave G
  6. I find that in Scotland, there are plenty of "Jap performance specialists". But by the word specialist they will do any car with little or no experience on cars like ours. What I mean is they are familiar with working on cars like Evos and Subarus etc. The work you are offering sounds very similiar to 4 companies I know of not far from me. Heres what I think you would need to be successful: - Be helpful and show a care towards the cars and owners - Use the owners clubs to get more information of all the the makes and models that you suspect you could get. I could work on any japanese car way before my mechanic could, just for the siple fact I have learned through the owners clubs. - Always complete work properly (this may sound daft but you know there are a million companies out there who will just do the work any way possible to get money out, you know what I mean). - I think that around the Aberdeen area there is none or bare minimal competition, so your on a winner. (Try advertising through some of the local forums around the Dundee/Fife/Perthshire area also might help). Sorry to be blunt, but I hope this helps. I would certinly pop up a few times to get work carried out. Of the 4 tuners I know of in Scotland, I have had mates cars in for work and came out unhappy. Be good to get a decent garage. Dave G
  7. When I was out on the first day doing the CBT some guy totally cut me up, the instructor went mental, followed him stopped and I had to hold him back from doing anything else. LOL. Good set of guys though. I am doing direct access too, had 4 lessons then stopped when I got this car. I work 12 days on and 2 days off so the 2 days I get off is spent with the car and modifying/fixing it. But I got my finger out and booked the test. Sounds like I would be better for a smaller size of bike then, possibly as low as a 250 to begin with and moving onto a 400 or so then onto big boy territory. Dave G
  8. Just tried insurance on the Kawasaki ZXR400. £500 Fully comp. I thought that was not bad and a good looking bike. Ill go try a 600 now and give you guys a laugh Dave G
  9. Nah I have stood next to a 125 before. I think my Road Push Bike is bigger than those. Anyway, I know that if I bought one, I would sell it within a few days of use, cos I know it wouldnt be powerful enough. I want the instructors 500 to be a bit bigger already, lol.
  10. oops wrong one, ignore last post
  11. If it is hardly noticeable then I would leave it alone IMO. But if you really want to replace then do so. I done mines, takes all of about 10 minutes to do both sides. Only prob I found was that the couple of drops before, resulted in both footwells and the drivers eat being absolutely soaked. take your time when fitting as you may find out the do the same as mine. If it isnt broke, dont fix it (always in the back of my head now). Dave G
  12. I have the same prob with the standard wheel, I am just a little taller than you. It was irritating to begin with, but live with it now
  13. I like the Silvia, very nice looking
  14. Thanks guys, I will go try some of these out on insurance. Any good online ones? Dave G
  15. That horlicks ad is class (i think it is that). How do you sleep at night? Dave G
  16. OK Guys I am new to motorbikes really, I know of a few different makes and models but everytime I do insurance I get killed. I have my test booked in April and will be able to ride anything (no dirty comments please, lol  ). My mate originally had a Honda VFR 400, I like though, but being 6 foot 3", I am a wee bitty too big for it. Anybody else have any other suggestions. I have tried a Suzuki GSXR 600 >2k insurance, Suzuki GSXF 600 >1.5k insurance. All because I am 21 with no riding experience etc. I am not really too fussed about the size of the thing, I like sports type bikes and will only be doing few thousand miles a year. Cheap insurance is the main thing though. Price range is up to £2k. Help pick me a bike please! Dave G
  17. ok if you cant link it up pm it out, lol
  18. changed into a slag chunk thread :mac1:  :nana2:
  19. I think that we should arrange some more group buys from the states and save everybody money.
  20. I have the baileys dump valves. Cost me £220 and they work fine, only problem I have ever had was that one of the hoses came off from the top, but that could happen to anyone. Dave G
  21. I take it that you arent worried about the trapped wasp, vibrator thats stuck then as it hasnt caused you a problem?? Has it been like that for a year or so then? Its the sort of thing that will annoy me until one day I take it out, replace loads of things, fix everything back together and find out its worse. This followed by a brief stomping and rage period. Few, I feel better even after just saying that, lol Dave G
  22. I know one of the designed tracks "GlenTress" is meant to be really good, I love downlhilling too, but dont think I have as much bottle as when I used to do it, got the scars to put me off now.
  23. sorry to hijak, Craig, which would win the m5 5.0 V8 or the Z running 15 psi?? Mate reckons he could beat me. I told him to save his money, buy a Z and go for weeks of private dances.
  24. Thats an expensive way to do it, the other way is just say no! Works for me. Dave G
