February meet
OK Craig, This is the last time I will be at the computer. I will head to Tescos at about 11:45. I will give the car a wee hoover and a wash at the Tescos petrol station. Once done I will park just in front of the petrol station so you can see me easily. I will wait until about 12:15 then head off . I have also sent a PM with my mobile. Dave G

Car wont start again
OK after giving her a good run I had a wee look through the engine bay. Spotted a hose had came off from the top end of the drivers side dump valve. Must have came off a couple of weeks ago. Funny thing was it was still in the car and sitting next to the fan, i dont know how it wasnt lost. Anyway, car is running perfectly again. Do you think that this was the problem due to balancing or something?? Dave G

February meet
Yeah well I am a deffo for tomorrow. I think the problem with my car was simply a hose had blown off above the dump valve. Replaced when I was out with Brett (Brakedust) and she runs great again. Should also have my gauges fitted in early morning. Craig you still up for meeting at Tescos Car Park. Dave G

Car wont start again
I will have a go with all of the above. I think that it is something like a connection problem or similiar as it is only happening now and again. Its iritating as its cross my finger time every time I restart her. But it starts 4 out of 5 times. Overfueling also sounds a possibility, there is quite a bit of blackih smoke coming out the zorts. I have put my newly upgraded ECU in from Andy P in the past month (100 miles) and I was sure to put it back in correctly. The only thing that I am unsure which is correct is near the brake booster hoses there is a sender unit and two little other units (like my technical talk - I think it is something to do with the boost hoses for the guage). I was replacing the hoses to blue ones from smithy and broke a piece of one of the little units. So I went in the house, fixed the unit and when getting back to the car, I totally forgot how to replace the hoses. I thought what I done was correct but unure. Anyone got any pictures of the set-up (if you can figure out what I am talking about)?? Thanks for the help guys, I will let you know how I get on. Dave G

Car wont start again
Cheers Jack, The spark plugs were replaced a few months ago with NGK ones with the 60k service. I have just been out to her again and started first time no prob. There is a slight problem once heated up though. The revs drop to around 600 and there is a slight threat of it cutting out. I ran with it for 20mins or so, I am going to go out again and try it, fingers crossed it works OK. Dave G

Car wont start again
OK I posted a previous thread regaring my car wasnt starting once it heated up. The conclusion from that was a f**cked PTU. So I have replaced it with a second hand series 1 from Nad. I started it for the first time in about 4 weeks which was a bit stuttery and chuggy. But when she heated up she was running perfectly. I thought it was great until I stopped at the petrol station, filled her up with optimax just to find that she wasnt going to start. So I put the alarm off and on to cancel that as a problem, but when I restarted again, with a bit of throttle it came on. So I drove home and intentionally stopped the engine while nipping in to test it when I got out. Would not start for love nor money, it does turn over but doesnt ignite. Anybody got any ideas of what it could be. I had been running about in the car for about 1 hour before stopping the car and if this PTU was gone too it hould have cut it on me before that right?? Thanks in advance, Dave G

Cheers Cybernet, I have a good oil change guide, funny enough to think its the only thing I have never done to a car as I usually hand it to my mate in the garage. Question is, when I bought the car, it had an oil and filter change (not long after the 60k service). Infact its not even 1000 miles. Will I do an oil/filter change anyway since it all has to come off?? I wont bother asking which oil is best, cos I know there are millions of threads to search through anyway. Thanks in advance, Dave G

OK before I start stripping away parts I dont need, can anyone show me the place I need to install this oil plate I have coming to fit my oil pressure/temperature gauges. Its pretty obvious, but I will need to empty/change the oil when I do this wont I. Thanks in advance, Dave G

ebay advert....got to be joking!?
I dont like it anyway. I love the M3 version and the GTR of it, but they have spoiled it in my opinion, even though you go over the top intentionally for the game. 90k to say it was on a game, whooppee Dave G

Womens insurance recommendations?
Lol, I found it difficult for insurance purposesfor myself (21) but my girlfriend was no problem but didnt find out any quotes (shes 24). Just keep looking, you will get one. I find most of the specialists are best. I use One Quote or something. I will find the number out when I go home for you. Fully comp £1700, 1 year NCB, 0 points, low crime, accident 2 years ago, with GF having having 3 points. Best price I was able to get, but I am still classed in boy racers territory. Dave G

Womens insurance recommendations?
You must be old :x: . Just kidding. My girlfriend has used Diamond before who seem OK and cheap enough. They do allow men to be put on the insurance too instead of woman only. Dave G

what is NOS purge?
Put it this way I wouldnt bother with it. Dont really care much for NOS or purge, but I can see the point in NOS. Getting a purge in a separate system to the NOS would be extra heavy. After all the Co2 or NOS whatever you use to purge (if separate to existing NOS into engine system) adds a lot of weight due to the bottle. If you go for a small bottle, you will be filling it all the time and if you go for a larger bottle its too heavy. Save the money and get a private dance or whatever people do in their spare time. Dave G
-
what is NOS purge?
You could easily do it with compressed air and an LED, same idea but without it being plumbed into your engine. But it would be totally pointless. And technically yes to purge is to let any air out of the system if using NOS so that the complete sytem has the NOS through it. Dave G

I'm new and need help!
What you will find difficult is insurance companies finding the right car on their system. I am only 21 and pay £1700 (4 years driving, 1 years NCB, 0 points, low crime area) but I phoned round almost every insurance company I found and they were the only one to offer me a sensibleish offer considering this is the only real high performance car Ive had. I dont mind paying it though as it is the only car I pay for (got 2 which are all expenses paid) and I have always wanted one. You will always have to double check with the insurance companies that they have the right car for you. At the end of the day you dont want invalid insurance cause that just causes too many hassles if anything goes wrong. But check insurances first before you look at any of the cars, to save you from getting your heart set on one, its a side effect of having this car. Hope to see you in a Z soon though, amazing cars. Scottish Rolling Road
Geez, thats a good price from Star. I was last there with the MR2oc last year and we were around £30 as far as I can remember. I could maybe bring another 2, I will check out when I go home. I could also post on Dundees car forums (never normally use it) to see if any of them are interested when we have a date set. No doubt one of the guys Gordon will be who may want a feature off it for his website etc, plus he has done a lot to his Scooby since the last time too. Dave G

Any plans in the near future for a rolling road. I would be interested in going to one. I think even if I have not had one by April I may go to one myself and get the car checked over while I am there. Dave G
