  1. Scotty, I have heard some good and bad stories about AWD motorsport. Seems like a professioal place. What about Star Performance in Kirkaldy, probably the nearest to you. Dave G
  2. C'mon most of us are guys why buy a operators manual?? Dave G
  3. Been wondering that for a while too. Thanks Hellraiser. Dave G
  4. Show-off  Nice looking cars though. Agree with needing 4" exhausts. I will kindly take the car off you for a couple of months and try mine on it. Ill let you know when I am done :duffer: Dave G
  5. A couple of things to look out for if you are looking at a modified car: If something like the boost has been increased on the car, check that the correct chip has been installed, ie not a jap fuel chip (JWT, Nisstek, plus others are good). An imported car with upped boost running on a jap chip (car expects 100ron in most cases) could cause unwanted damage to the engine, always a good thing to check. Make sure that any modifications done have been fitted properly. I personally would only buy a modified car if it was from someone from the owners club. Shows that someone has cared for the car and generally speaking, guys in OCs only modify the car to its benefit, compared to other people. If you are looking for a great car, fast, reliable and good looking then this is the one to go for. But depending on wether the car is a daily driver or not, check that you can run, maintain and modify the car within the amount of money you are prepared to spend the car. At the end of the day, the 300zx is a wonderful car, but is pretty expensive to run, as with most big engine performance cars. Not trying to put you off. Hope you buy a Z, Dave G
  6.  Keep a list of all the stuff you remove, I amy just jump on the band wagon with some of the things. Dont really need aircon in Scotland. HICAS possibly too. Dave G
  7. For example, I have 6 hours (mostly in darkness) when I get home. To do the following: - Remove broken PTU. - Replace new PTU. - Take out temp rubbish champion sparkplugs and replace with NGK ones. - Remove 16" standard wheels, replace with my old 17s from MR2 (which fit with a 5mm spacer.) - Possibly paint brake calipers to blue, wait and see how I feel. - Car to my m8 in National Tyres who will track the car for me. - Put mig tips back into boost hoses. - Replace rest of hoses to blue (kit from Smithy, already 1/3rd done). - Check hose system at top drivers side of the engine bay (not sure what it is). I think I got the order wrong on replacing items. Just to double check it. - Not to forget clean the car inside and out for the Scottish meet on Sunday. Typical story for me though, and between all this it is my Girlfriends birthday. Might have time to say happy birthday once. Have fun, Dave G
  8. Yeah working on this car is a pain usually but not many cars nowadays are not. I find all that it needs is patience and some restraint to say "no dont pull it too hard or you'll break it". But as I only have 2 or 3 days a month to fix, modify, drive and enjoy the car, I always have to do things very quickly, up early etc. But in the end I enjoy it, get very annoyed working on the car at the time. But nothing compares to when you do something right and it works first time. Especially with the engine as I am realistically a begginer. I think most people are in the same boat, we hate doing the actual work for modifying/replacing parts, but we keep doing it anyway, for the ending feeling. Dave G
  9. How much did they quote you for it. I may be interested in it, but dont really want to travel to England to get it done. Dave G
  10. Me too any left.
  11. Mark cant get you on msn. Maybe someone else may be able to help. When I open up more then 1 folder or excel file, it automatically shows it as 1 on the taskbar. How can I change this to show them all (unless there is too many ofcourse). This has only changed since using Astonshell thanks, Dave G
  12. You do have a fair point, but is the whole purpose of the internet not just to save money? Dave G
  13. I like the idea of 2 gauges in one, but I like to have more to look at. Mens law: More gadgets = better Dave G
  14. From what I can gather they are back entry guages, ie they have a bsp (british standard pipe) thread on the back check to see if you will have enough space for adaptors for these behind your fitting plate. No doubt 1/8" which are standard on gauges I use in work. You will get a much better seal using these where the hose joins to a connector. Buy some PTFE tape to go with it to help even more. One thing to check though, if you are going to use a sandwich plate make sure you are able to get one with bsp fittings coming out of it, same with the t-pieces for the boost hoses. HTH, Dave G
  15. Yea my PTU went bought a S1 from Nad as I dont want to spend too much on getting one. Goodluck and I hope you get yours running again. Dave G

  17. This was when all of the bombings were going off, Mr Blair nearby so all of the police vans ere flying about. Guys from Kent police wanted a photo as I was out in full attire for my Graduation. First thing my girlfriend asked after the photo was where are there hands and why are they smiling  :nana2: Dave G
  18. Yes it is the 4 at the fron of the engine bay (2 either side). I am not thinking of buying a straight length. I order a lot from Hydrasun for my work. And after speaking to the guy I usually deal with he said he could order, bend and shape it for me. I was looking on your site for the stainless steel pipes with short silicon connectors but could not find them or a price. I may just buy it from you as Andy says it would be easier and fit perfect. Already got them from you m8. Let me know a price and Ill contact you later Dave G
  19. Could someone do me a favour. I am going to order some silicon Hose from my local supplier. But I am 300 miles from my car. Could someone tell me the ID of these hoses and the length that they are so I can get it a little longer. Thanks in advance, Dave G
  20. Goodluck fitting it. Let me know how you get on so we can meet up before the meet. Dave G
  21. Thats what I mean  Dave G
  22. Just get extra hose to same size of the one with tth kit and put a connector inbetween. Should be able to get them from any car place really. Dave G
