Knockhill Christmas present
OK the GF gave me a Silver voucher pack from Knockhill Race Circuit. Knockhill Have any of you tried these or similiar ones. Not sure on which one to choose really. Tempted more for the Rally experience as theres not much chance of ever really doing that, but the formula 1 and legend cars both sound great too. TIA, Dave G

MR2 alloys onto 300zx TT
Does anyone know whether MK2 MR2 alloys have a similiar pattern / offset to fit onto a 300zx. I kept a set of 17" Arospeed RS GTs from my old MR2, saves me money from buying new alloys if these fit. Just get some better rubber onto it. TIA, Dave G

BOV Fitting problem
Managed to sort it. Didnt realise that I needed to have the hose connection which joins the 2 intake hoses towards the engine (the one above the airbox). That must have been why it was not working correct cos it works and sounds great. My own fault, I always test things before I replace everything to make sure that I dont have to take it all off again. Thanks for the info Dafox, Dave G

BOV Fitting problem
OK got a bit more information. Took off the airbox etc to investigate. Started OK, tried to reconnect the airflow meter which made it cut out. When i give the car a bit of throttle while idling (without airflow meter) it sounds OK until it hits 2600 RPM. It then chugs away, looking at the BOVs the picton inside is moving OK, but how do I tell if they are operating the in the right direction. From what it sounds to me is that when I open more throttle, it uses more air, but if the pictoins are moving in the wrong direction then this would close it. Another thing, I only used a small piece of the hosing from the vacuum (smallest hose), instead of using the full length. Should I have?? Hopefully, ill get there, stil need some help though. Dont want to give up and have to replace the old recircs again, hate defeat. Dave G

BOV Fitting problem
Hi, Went out today to fit the new Baileys BOVs which came. Took ages to get eveything off, and what a pain it was. When replacing everything. I thought I was done but forgot to put one of the caps on and tried to start it. It ran for a bit OK, then cut out. Fitted cap onto the correct hose, then all it does it start for 1/2 a second then cut out. Any ideas on the problem? Thanks in advance, Dave G

Cannonball Run
When I was part of the MR2 forum there was talk of doing a John o Groats to Lands End run. Im sure they did it, but as I work up that end of Scotland now I might end up doing it with my girlfriend sometime. Not the same as when there are loads of cars though. Could be a possible future run, or even some other planned UK/Western Europe trip. I would go for it, date depending of course. Dave G

Would you buy an electric car?
Yes I would buy one for work. I would be raking it in from paying very little company car tax and makes loads off my allowances that I get. One of the guys in my work has one and it looks OK (Honda Civic). But with his car it runs on leccy when you are driving like a granny and uses the petrol part of the engine to recharge etc. But put your foot down and its all petrol engine. Just like Hovis best of both, get the good and bad out of the car. Not sure on the speed though but sure to be slow, definately very slow compared to the Zed. Back to the question, a leccy car that looked like a Zed, Yes but too quiet for me, I like the fact that I can put car alarms off in enclosed streets with the noise. :D Dave G

jubilee clips
Seems awful expensive for simply jubilee clips. I just ordered loads of clips similiar to jubilees but more robust and look much nicer. Only £1.41 for 2" hose. So for boost hose etc you will be pennies. That was from a company called Hydrasun, but I order them in work, plus some for me. Im sure if you search round some of the hydraulic hose companies they could supply you guys with exactly the same items at much less. Thats where the likes of Halfords etc would buy them and put a 400% mark up. You are also able to do the same for hoses etc, instead of going for Samco pre made kits, just order the hose length and pay 1/10th of the price for same quality hose without the badge. Dave G

1st day in your zed
My first day was yesterday. Driving like a granny most of the way. Opened it up a few times though. I know what you mean with Johndps's twin turbo, great car so had to buy it. Opened it up once on a straight, tail came out in the pissing rain but just eased off and let it control itself and drove like a granny once again. Girlfriend shit herself though. Pretty much grinning all the way though. Love the Z now. Just waiting on some good weather, has been lashing down with rain since I got the car. Not really used the "hold on" button. Dave G
