slightly concerned.
At the end of the day I absolutely hate speed cameras like most people, but if I am breaking the law I cannot argue if I get charged or fined for it. Ignoring that the money doesnt go back into roads etc. OK motorways are 70mph how many people sit at 80mph. Change it to 80mph and how many will sit at 90mph etc. People bend/break the law even just a tiny bit as they see it acceptable. What I hate is what may just have happened to me. Driving 240 miles (not too much) sitting behind a lorry doing on average about 50mph. I waited for a nice straight so that I wouldnt have to floor it to overtake. Overtook at 72mph (on single carriageway 60mph) but when I got past the lorry I seen a Mobile Unit with a car parked infront so I wouldnt be able to see it until right at it. Getting caught for that is a bit unfair as I was within the speedlimit the rest of the journey with exceptions of a few overtakings, safely though. This was on Friday but in all fairness technically I was breaking the law so if I get fined then so be it. People just start hating the police when they want "let off" with something. I just hate having a fast car that tempts me to speed though :nelson: I dont see any problem whatsoever with you as a policeman. I would even be friends with a civil servant whos main job would be in the mobile units. You are just doing a job! Dave G

A Pillar Pod and guages
I have my ECU being socketed and chipped followed by installation of a Greddy Profec B II boost controller. Once these are in I will obviously need to upgrade my boost guage and oil pressure guage to aftermarket. I am hoping to order the A-Pillar pod which only requires 2 Guages (still not sure where to get it from). I have looked at fitting guides for both installing a boost guage and the A-pillar pod and its still a bit unfamiliar but Im sure that once I start it shouldnt be too bad. Still cant find one for oil pressure though  Does anyone else have any useful tips of how to fit or is it worthwhile getting someone who has done it before t fit it. Also I am on a budget for the guages/pod, any suggestions where to buy these from. Dave G

New Focus ST
Grip being a main factor against a r32 owner. They have a v good advantage with 4wd. I have raced a few Golfs from 2.0 GTis to the Turbo versions and they are just a waste of time like most cars  even though mine is still pretty much stock (for another couple of weeks). Dave G

Another cheap petrol locating site
I live in Dundee which has the following: The Highest price in this area: 88.9p 92.9p n/a 93.9p 44.9p The Average price in this area: 86.9p 91.8p n/a 92.0p 41.9p The Lowest price in this area: 85.9p 90.9p n/a 87.9p 39.9p But working at Dounreay, Thurso (end of Scotland basically) rip off at: The Highest price in this area: 95.9p 98.9p n/a 101.9p n/a The Average price in this area: 95.4p 98.3p n/a 101.9p n/a The Lowest price in this area: 94.9p 97.9p n/a 101.9p n/a Considering most of the oil is from this neck of the woods. I had to bite my lip
Well it must be some sort of trend in Fords. I was speaking to a guy the other day. And guess what his 1.6 Fiesta Zetec-S does 0-60 in under 7 seconds. I thought he should have been quicker than that since hes put an induction kit on it. I didnt dare offer him a race. :xxx: Dave G

cleaning calipers
I have used Engine Degreaser on before, and that usually works. But since it is off the car, I would use Hydrochloric acid (if you can egt you hands on some). Dilute that with water 1:4 and leave it in there for a couple of hours then remove and brush with wire brush. I bet that puts it spotless. But be careful with any acid if you use it. Make sure you use it in a ventilated area and wear gloves and more importantly goggles and avoid skin contact. Dave G

Speedo help
Ok yet another thread needing speedo help. My clocks have MPH on them up to 190 but there is a sticker covering the MPH sign which I didnt notice when I bought the car. It runs in KM/H though and I can verify this with my road angel. What way is best to turn the speedo to run MPH instead. Hope I dont bring up annoyed, "this subject again", users. TIA Dave G

Front Bumper Modifications
Yeah the apexi kit that came allowed me to bolt onto the plastic tray so it doesnt flat about. But at a minimum I will be cutting that away. Thanks Turb0z, Dave G
-
Front Bumper Modifications
After installing my Apexi induction and planning for new intercoolers, I had a wee look at the front end. The apexi isnt receiving as much air as it could as there is a plastic tray underneath it and loads of plastic infront of it. (More worried about the intercooler when I buy/install. Is there any major reason why I shouldnt get my bodyshop to cut a section out of the front and mesh it. I would undoubedly get it done so that if I decide for a frount mount intercooler, it could simply fit into the hole already cut. Saves time, money and respray. Also does anyone have any pictures of this done already?? Thanks, Dave G
