ok people, I realise that my avatar pic kinda points to the fact that I'm a police officer!

In all honesty I really don't wanna be disliked because of what I do because I think I make a difference. There are also certain other members on the forum that, I think feel the same, and at the end of the day we're here because we try to do a good job, yet I can sympathise with people that feel differently, because they may have been treated unfairly.

Reading through the posts, I can see that most of the 'regular' members are sensible, law abiding citizens.

All I ask is that we (the police) are given a fair chance. I also realise that no actual inference has been made to the police service, by any member.

Anything contained within my post is my opinion, and is NOT the opinion of any Police force in the UK, or the home office.

Really guys, I'm just trying to improve the police/public relationship. Surely the vast majority of you will understand?

Thanks for listening!

Streuth - it's the law! Shut up and let me do the talking.

Seriously it's no bother mate. A good policeman is a great thing.

You're not the first member of the police force on here and probably not the last. Don't really see it as a problem (as long as you have a Z that is).

I have had the odd run in with the Police in my time and always found them to be polite and friendly in the main.It would be a poor state of affairs with out the good work you and your colleages do and I do feel sorry some times that you are let down badly more often than not ,by the courts.Keep up the good work Bud  .....Vinz

So long as you leave the motorists alone and concentrate on real criminals!!!!

Only joking.

Fat Tony who used to be one here was a copper and a top bloke.

Hey buddy, you're not the only cop on here! As per a previous post, you don't join the river police unless you like boats, you don't join mounted branch unless you like horses, and you don't join traffic unless you have a real grudge against humanity.

You aren't trafpol are you?

are you traffic :nelson: if so could you ignore a fellow na owner swb in black

only joking buddy. at the end of the day if you don't do anything wrong what have you got to worry about.

agree with vince the courts let you lot down really. + there isnt enough hours in the day to do the bloody paperwork....

*puts his lovely white traffic hat on*

hehe, no I'm joking! really guys, you've nothing to worry about from me because I understand the modern motorist! I know that being held up by elderly drivers isn't fun! I also respect the fact that practically everyone (including myself) makes mistakes whilst driving. Really i'm an honest cop and I love my job, but I can understand why people dont like traffic cops! All I urge you to do is be nice to whoever pulls you over cuz it might be me! lol. At the end of the day all I'm concerned about is our (that means yours and mine!) safety!

Sounds good to me, I had very close family in the CID for almost 30 years.

There are good and bad in all walks of life I have worked alongside them for around 13 years working on the doors of night clubs. In all honesty I have met some top blokes and a very small handful of complete :xxx:

I have had officers from other forces flash their badge wanting free entry.

I have had them causing fights and then saying its ok I am a police officer :nono:

I have had them trying to get drunks in the premises because it was ok he is with me

If you want to improve relations with the public then I say good on you and welcome aboard.

at the end of the day I want people to be able to trust me! I'm not the kind of person thats happy with some random nameless beurocrat saying "trust me, Im great!!" It's simply not on, and I for one am p****d off with having to put up with it. I'm here to provide a service and I'm here because I like to think that the public (you guys) want me here! But I also think that the public deserve the right to get what they pay for! I'm not gonna get all political, but you know what I mean!

Take care people.

Ian..............just a general question...........if i were to flash my Prison Badge...........would most bouncers allow me entry without queueing up or even on a busy night were guest list members are only allowed..............just that i tend to find theyre kinda akward when it comes to guys in London unless you've got a girl on your arm (why would i be out on the pull if i already had a gal for gods sake "honestly")

Not that i would use my badge for stuff like that...........just a hypothetical question

I can only pass my own views towards the police. They are there to uphold the law and in that they are protecting us from crime?

Now its a fact of life that in any profession someone will abuse their position and use it for personal gain (whatever that gain may be) Power, fianacial, sexual or just another rung up the ladder, and to do so is a crime in itself.

Therefore I have no problem at all in being open towards you as a police officer/fellow Zed owner and Bragging that I may have just done 205 MPH on the M25 or taking a roundabout at the speed of sound? But should that eventually get me nicked then I think you would be abusing your position on this forum? If on the other hand I was to bragg about beating up an old lady or breaking into someones house then I would expect you to act and have me nicked.

You are OK by me if thats anything to be pleased about? :duffer:

I must ask though! why do you feel the need to advertise it on your avatar osciffer ?

I don't believe there will ever be a good relationship between the motorist and the police (generally) while the government are intent on shafting the motorist at every turn. It is not your fault but while the people in charge seem intent on using the speed camera for revenue raising, the average motorist is going to see the police as party to the shafting if you see what I mean.

Now I don't have an issue with the police, you have a job to do and usually do it very well, it is the people at the top that make the policies and it is those that are out of touch with public feeling, but they never get to interface with the public so we get a viscous circle....

So if you stop me...just remember I said you were ok bud...lol

At the end of the day I absolutely hate speed cameras like most people, but if I am breaking the law I cannot argue if I get charged or fined for it. Ignoring that the money doesnt go back into roads etc.

OK motorways are 70mph how many people sit at 80mph. Change it to 80mph and how many will sit at 90mph etc. People bend/break the law even just a tiny bit as they see it acceptable. What I hate is what may just have happened to me. Driving 240 miles (not too much) sitting behind a lorry doing on average about 50mph. I waited for a nice straight so that I wouldnt have to floor it to overtake. Overtook at 72mph (on single carriageway 60mph) but when I got past the lorry I seen a Mobile Unit with a car parked infront so I wouldnt be able to see it until right at it. Getting caught for that is a bit unfair as I was within the speedlimit the rest of the journey with exceptions of a few overtakings, safely though. This was on Friday but in all fairness technically I was breaking the law so if I get fined then so be it.

People just start hating the police when they want "let off" with something. I just hate having a fast car that tempts me to speed though :nelson:

I dont see any problem whatsoever with you as a policeman. I would even be friends with a civil servant whos main job would be in the mobile units. You are just doing a job!

You can check out my car anytime would be good to meet you. Have met some of your buddies when I did my IAM bike test........Kept me safe & they give up their free time to help people who can't ride bikes as well as them & make progress as they say. :duffer:

Welcome to the club.

PS. Please don't nick me my Reg Number is **** ***. :D

i've got issues with my local police, and their treatment of certain groups of society, but this is NOT the time and place for me to go off on one...

i have never had a ticket, never had any points and have never been arrested... and altho i have had plenty of "discussions" with the police, the vast majority are decent folk, just a shame the wakners amongst them spoil it for the rest...

respect has to be earned in this world, in ALL walks of life...

one of my neighbours (and friends) is high in traffic division, and loves his cars, hes a top bloke who has my respect, another one is in the murder squad, again a sound bloke who i would trust with my life...

welcome aboard mate and i hope you enjoy your stay, you sound like a good lad and have had the foresight to discuss your profession on here, which to be honest is the best way...

I personaly don't have a problem with a police officer being part of this club, if you are Trafpol then i say keep up the good work, too many people driving about uninsured and no licences these days and if it wasn't for people like you and paramedics my other half wouldn't have survived his horrific accident a few years ago.

Keep up the good work and a big WELCOME to 300zx.co.uk

I'm gonna have a rant now - 1st one on the forum, but here goes.....

Police ( not any particular individual ) in Telford are a bunch of w***ers, fookin useless and thats being kind.

The other day i was on a bicycle ride with my 7 year old daughter, we were riding on the pavement next to a busy road because its safer than being on the road.

who should waft by but the filth in their poxy volvo estate, on their way to busting a drug den no doubt, low and behold the brake light come on and they pull up some way in front of us.............

you guessed it, the prick shouts me over, for a chat !!, he asks me why I am riding on the footpath, " don't you know its an offense " !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, i said but i'm just being safe with my daughter, he gets cocky and said that i'm not showing her the right way to do things and he turned to her and said " you and your dad could get in trouble by riding on the footpath ", with that my little girl starts to cry......

well I just lost it !!!!!, big style !!!

"well done, bet your proud now ", I fumed, " police tossers, picking on innocent public, easy targets, making my girl cry - and other words which got me into more trouble.....

I rode off with my my baby and he said that he wanted to speak to me, so I told him to follow me home then and i'll speak to him there !!!!!!!!!!

And he fookin did, 5 fookin minutes with the fookin filth following me at 5mph to my house.....

I got home, my missus came out and asked what was going on, said i'll tell her later and told her to take my girl inside, the big fat plod got out of the car and tried to give me a lecture about road safety, and how to talk to the police - told me to show some respect so my daughter would feel the same when she grew up...... well I was MAD,MAD,MAD - asked him if i was going to be arrested, he said no, so I turned around walked away from him, slammed the garden gate, slammed the front door and ranted to my missus for a bit, 10mins later the w***ker is still outside in his shite volvo, missus stopped me from going outside to have a go, it was 15mins before that tosser eventually went, NOW THATS POLICEWORK !!!!!

they would rather me risk the safety of my daughter on roads populated with chav saxo, corsa, punto and fiesta tosspot rally drivers than cycle slowly and safely on the pavement where I can keep an eye on her.

no wonder this country is a soft target......

rant over.......thankyou !!

I have got nothing against you either DirtySanchez, I also have a low opinion of most of the Devon and Cornwall Police thats only because when I have needed them they have not been there, but when you have accidently left your fog lights on from the foggy night before, wham bam you have a £30 fine slapped on you. :xxx: :xxx: but as I said nothing against you in general.

P.s change your Avatar :D

the fact that this member is a copper no big deal, just because you get paid to uphold the law(and let me tell ya we need to) does,nt automaticaly make this dude a lepper.i know a lot of cops and a few are tits but i allso know a lot of so called good guys and a few of them i rate as tits, what i mean is iff some young scabby diked punk mugged your mam and robbed her purse does that mean all young scabby looking lads have a death sentence of revenge. this dirty dude will get my respect as a zed fan untill nothing more and nothing less.

ps:imho i cant think what could be gained by telling people your a cop other than creepy ass kissing or is that what your after dirty

Got nothing against having a few coppers on here, also guys whats wrong with check stuff with a traffic copper ( like the % of light through tinted windows ) before you go ahead and do it and get pulled. Welcome aboard mate :)

Like all walks of life there's good guys and there's to55ers - always have been, always will be.

Oh, and BTW I bougt my alloys off a copper from this forum and a nice chap he was too.

Good luck with the date mate ;)

few of my friends are coppers, saved me a few quid :D

you get my vote mate (just in case I ever need a favour ;) :D )
