Best thing you bought for the zed?
Although I dont have them fitted yet, I suspect it will my A-Pillar and guages. Either that or the SMICs from Chunk

T-bar Seals......
You will need to force it right in. It does take a wee bit of effort. It does fit once on though. I replaced mines a few months back.

Zed experts in Scotland
Check MJP in the traders section. They supply oem parts at which you should get a much cheaper part than that. Goodluck

Zed Virgin says hello
Hi Mark, I am from Dundee. I think we are pretty stuck on a specialist. There are a few Jap tuners around, but more general business. The ones that spring into my mind is: AWD - Perth I think (Basically a subaru place). Star Performance - Kirkaldy. Cairneyhill (cant remember their new name)- in Cairneyhill near dunfermline. There are a couple of us nearby you, myself, Craig (tealing) and Brett (Leuchers). There are some over towards Kirkaldy too. Give me a shout and we could meet up sometime, I could even have a wee look at your car. I am no great mechanic but I know some basics. Welcome Dave G

Car broke down AGAIN
Its sounds like a faulty alternator to me, but follow the guidance above for checking by warning lights.

Just passed test, young driver! Insurance?
My GFs little bro is the same. He is just doing his theory now and already had a fully kitted Fiesta Van. Its a diesel and I told him to leave it like that. But he bought a reconditioned RS Turbo engine ready to fit with a few uprated parts. But the only thing is when he does thing a few things will happen: - He will kill himself - All the chavs will attempt to steal it - Insurance will kill him, but I doubt he will insure it properly which I will kill him for. I hate that sort of thing. I had a R5, 180bhp death trap on wheels cos if you crash it will look like a squashed coke tin. Every single metal panel is wafer thin. Thats why almost every R5 you look at is dented and has the usual parking dents. I am selling my old one as it has been off the road for a wee while now. Tell him to sell it and buy a car with cheaper insurance, although for the power and speed of the R5 its better than most. PS I am only 21 and pay £1700 FC for the Z(import TT) doing 6k a year. Bets bet is to build up his no claims so when he gets near to 21 he can insure a car without wasting all his money. Dave G

oil cooler
Phone some of the breakers. I just received my oil cooler upgrade for £40 from Supercar Parts. Does exactly the same job as the zcentres one but is used. I did phone Zcentre and Luke was very helpful and said he would give me a full run through of how to fit it. But I was running close to the end of the monthly budget of the car so went into tight *rse mode.

o2 Sensor Nut
OK as some of you may know I ripped the thread of my o2 sensor nut. I will be replacing the adaptor with a new one from MJP (thanks again mike). Is there any special tool that anyone can suggest to remove this. The only reason I ask is that it is around a 32mm hex nut but with only a depth of 7mm or so. This means that using a normal socket of the corrrect size isnt of great help as there are countersinks of roughly the same size. Any suggestions?? TIA, Dave G

Have I got a Boost controller?
Google is your friend. ;) http://www.splparts.com/doc/tech/EBC.htm Its a boost controller and as everyone else suggests it sounds like the 0.5 to 1. is boost in bar. (1 bar = 14.5 psi) HTH, Dave G

Not sure if you've got one of these but it's a cool idea
We have one too, chunk posted not too long ago to get people up on it.

The RAF.
I have been toying for the past few years to go into one of the forces. I will probably wait until I am chartered then join. I make good money for my age atm. Everyone I know who joined any of the forces loves it. Another guy to speak to is Brett (brakedust300) he's an engineer for the RAF. Goodluck whatever you do Dave G

o2 Sensor Probs
OK looked through mjps price list, does this sound right?: o2 sensor nut: Part no. 20607-p6500

o2 Sensor Probs
The boss looks hard to remove though as it only has a small lip. Did you use any special tools for it. I was thinking of using one like for my road bike handlebars, ie a thin headed spanner, but I imagine as it is into the manifold. Hot, cold, hot, cold, hot, cold = stuck lol. SO I doubt the tool I am talking about would do the job. Do you remember the part no? Dave G

o2 Sensor Probs
What do you mean cleaned out? If its in the manifold, its not that big of a deal then. At worst I will just blank the hole off and get the mechanic to refit the o2/lambda sensor someplace else. I have the new one plugged in just now, but I doesnt like running although I managed to get it home. I imagine its cos the ECU thinks its constantly cold now as its just sitting near the battery. Any suggestion?

o2 Sensor Probs
OK yesterdy I was fixing the niggly pribs with the car. Decided to take it to my m8s garage to get the work done instead of braking it myself using the wrong tools. So I got him to do the tracking and I cleaned out the engine temp sensor. Next on the list Passenger o2 sensor. Everything removed and out of the way, managed to get the o2 sensor moving. When we got it out noticed a wee bit of the thread had ripped. Another mechanic in the garage said, "rushed it too much", I replied "3 hours to loosen a sensor, f**k off". But I knew it was true. Anyway, the way it is fixed in is through an adaptor incase people like me get their hands on it :nono: , so I think I have the folloing options: - Clean out thread and re-tap. Attempt fitting it then if unsuccesful, tap to larger size and use new adaptor. - Remove existing adaptor and refit new one (assuming I can remove it, about a 32mm size and very thin). - Buy new bigger turbos (it is the turbo that the adaptor is screwed into isnt it?) and head down to a specialist (I doubt I will do this but I am tempted). What do you guys think. Any recommendations? TIA, Dave G

Tom Tom voices
I have just received my HP ipaq and tom tom packae yesterday. How can I change the voice settings on it and where can I download them from. Also where about will I get the free camera downloads that everyone always talks about?? Couple of problems with it also. It crashed while running tom tom wizard and I couldnt get it to stop. So I removed the wizard from the programs permanently. I already ran it before so having it not there isnt a great deal. But how could I connect to the Pocket PC through my PC. I have all wires linked up but it doesnt connect in. Also when I instal the tom tom CD it doesnt install any programs?? TIA, Dave G

Good price for an Ebay Zed!
I seen that advertised on ebay about 7 months ago from the same owner. I was gonna buy it. Looked good and was in Dundee, where I live! It was around the same price before but the seller never contacted me about it so I just left it. It was the exact same pictures though when I was gonna buy it so it may not be as the pictures look. f**k f**k f**k
I agree with MAC, get it checked by an expert. They should be able to suggest once they have a look at it. It is a shame though. I feel sorry for you. Dave G

Drawing Z's again

Boost Gauge fitted
Agree, Im sure that once the car is done it will be amazing as eveything ould have been replaced  . Just a shame to see a genuine owner have so many probs with one car. Goodluck, at least your are in the same club as mine, check the sig. PS you say no codes, but have you checked your o2 sensors? Dave G

Boost Gauge fitted
Is it a little gremlin that runs through hoses till he finds a hole? Jumps out and says here it is master. If it, I have been looking for one of those for ages. Another more crude way tht sometimes indicates a leaks is if you reach 7 psi and instead of it staying constant at 7 it jumps up and down, could be a wee indication. Dave G
