  1. do you mean the clock set? i.e speedo/rev etc if so, they are black as standard
  2. no probs, i'l look forward to hearing from you James :)
  3. would be being a woman bit. i'm blonde, so thats no excuse :tongue:
  4. the koni shocks will be your suspension. as Richard says the tyres wont help the comfort of the ride
  5. what suspension setup have you got? is it stock or after market?
  6. a handy little link for ya... http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/tech/fuelleaks/fuelleaks.html
  7. its quite common for the jubilee clips on the fuel lines to work them selves loose and start to give off a fuel smell. just check and tighten every clip, even the fiddly ones that sit right close to the fuel rails. either that or the lines have become porous. if you have stock suspension then they could be on their way out, after market uprates shocks will be stiffer so you will feel the bumps. either way, non of what you mentioned would be a direct result of driver error:)
  8. thanks James, how did the old girl perform at silverstone?
  9. cheers Stu, i started up business a little under a year ago solely working on the zeds, will do anything from stock services to keeping 700bhp'ers on the track ;)
  10. best RX-7 in the UK???? i doubt that, the day he can spell will be the day his car is the best:wack:
  11. well he did tell me you had matching outfits for the club night he lined up for ya :D
  12. you're more than welcome Mark, enjoyed every minute. will be sending you those bits tomorrow dude. any time you need to use my equipment, just pop on over :)
  13. mental!!!
  14. if you wound it in too far, then they valve wont let off, causing the turbos to stall. not good!. if its not wound in enough, the valve would leak and result in poor boost.
  15. to set the apexi's up, screw the grub screw in until it's sticking out aprox 4mm of the locking nut. give it a run and tighten if they let off with too lower boost or slacken until they let off at all. to be honest, 4mm should be pretty spot on with the apexi's
  16. on a turbo'd car the whole induction system is pressurised under boost. as soon as the throttle closes, theres a massive surge of pressure due the the tubos still spinning but, no where for the pressurised air to go, in extreme cases causing the turbo to stall. a dump valve or blow off valve vents this unwanted pressure to atmosphere, allowing the turbos to wind down safely. depending on the vac load pressure which in some valves is adjustable, you can controll the rate at which the intake system holds pressure to keep the turbos spinning between shifts. combine this with an electrical boost controller and you will have a fast responding setup :) oh, and they sound good as well :D
  17. not sure on the make of the damper/brace, got it from concept Z. my idea was to clear as much as possible off the plenum so it's easyer to remove and to hide all the fuel components behind the "fire wall" incase of any leaks :)
  18. so, did you want to send them back to get checked? i only mentioned no oil pressure as Mikey, in another thread mentioned when he ran it, there was no pressure. as an up and coming new business i naturally want to help out and sort out any problems that may arise, and would appreciate the opportunity to check out and rectify any probblems before asumptions are made publicly. so please, if you have any doubts about the turbos. send them back and if there are any faults, i will sort them out.
  19. stock mounts are the best option for TT'd zeds. with poly mounts, there is a possibility that they will melt. you could go for solid ally mounts but, the ride will become very shakey. you have plenty of room there. if you're still worried, use an engine brace...
  20. as i said in my pm, send them down to me and i will get them re-checked for piece of mind.. the turbos are both oil and water cooled but, it is highly unlikely that the tubs are leaking and mixing fluids. could it be to do with... the heads and block being skimmed too much with a standard HG being used? the engine being run with no oil pressure? was the engine compression checked and leak tested before running? obviously i cant say too much on the subject untill i have looked over the tubs but, what i can say is, the reconditioning went as well as all the others i have done and i trust the engineering firm i use for testing and balancing. so, please, if you have any doubts about the tubs, send them back to me for re-testing Mark
