My sister had an Evo2 - bloody awesome it was!!! Her ex boyfriend of the time put a boost tap on it and whacked it up to 2bar: The diff bearing imploded!! Dick! Anyway The only fault with the Evo1,2&3 is it shares most of its body components including it's shell with the Proton Persona :xxx: The Mrs would never be seen in it (shallow, i know!) 4k is the what we have to spend, (be nice to have a little to spare). So is it Turbo2000 for UKDM and WRX for JDM and is it that common to have to rebuild the engine on JDM's?

Why go for second best? 2 reasons, my friend... 1. My multi-million pound empire has fallen on hard times ...and 2. It's for my Mrs, and i don't want her having a faster car than me! :)

that would work if you'd already driven one before, and i did have a little drive of a WRX wagon about 5 years ago but i wouldn't be able to remember for comparison. these little 4cyl turbo rolerscates all feel pretty quick to me... there must be something i can look for...? a letter in the VIN or something under the bonnet...?

The other half wants a WRX Who am i to argue with the will of the little woman?! Just wandering if any of you guys have any knowledge of these cars. From what i understand there's the Turbo2000 and WRX and STI. ITurbo2000 is around 200bhp while the WRX and STI's are upwards of 260 with one being a JDM and the other being UK spec...? correct me if i'm wrong. Looks like a lot of crooked traders trying to palm-off tub2000's as WRX/STi. Does anyone know how to tell the difference?

Whats the best fuel octane level to use?
actually, around theses parts tesco 99 is cheaper than all the other super unleaded and optimax supliers at 99.9p/lt

Engine oil valve
That looks like a good idea... How does it work and what is the cost?

Tein Shock Rebound adjustment
The picture shows one of my Tein top mounts. I've just had the car 4 wheel aligned and what a difference!!!! much better handling!!! Anyway the fitter said it was up to the driver to sort the "comfort" adjustment out so I got home and took a wrench to the adjustment screw... .... only to find that the big nut it sits in was turning with it!!! Is it supposed to do that? I was under the impression that the adjustment screw would turn in the bolt. If this bolt is that loose could that be the cause of my knocking? Please help me before i break my car again :headvswal

Whats the best fuel octane level to use?
i've been running mine on tesco 99 now for about 3 weeks and it's great. Noticable improved fuel ecconomy but mine has been re-mapped. I thought that Japanese fuel was around 100 octane and "unles you put an octane higher than 95 in it will knock and go into safety boost" - Thats what my workshop manual says anyhow.

Power windows electric feed
Yes agreed. multimeter is the way to go. My remote start switches the radio on with the engine - I wish it didn't!!! Check your alarm system for any aux control leads (e.g. air conditioning or rear window demister as mine has) these will be cables that connect to earth when activated and all you need to do is find any live feed and then pass it through a relay to activate your comp.

A nice compliment
I get a lot of looks... I get a few comments too... Was driving around town today with the tops off, windows down and one guy in a van shouted "****er" at me earlier... must have not liked my shades or something...

Fag lighter fuse
drivers footwell, but, and correct me if i'm wrong guy's, i think one of the 2 feeds to the stereo runs from it too. so either your radio wont work at all or there won't be a memory back-up on it, if this fuse has blown. Check the connections to it under the console.

Fag lighter?
deffo possition 2... on mine anyhow.

Where Does Manual Boost Controller Go
Ad spanner and stir.... Some of of us here who have removed our AIV's now have an AIV solenoid valve sitting in the engine bay doing sweet FA. I'm trying to get my head around making an electronic boost switch out of mine by having it in stock boost in one position and then having a mig tip in the second vacuum output hose. thus allowing you to select a slightly higher boost when required. is there a way to do this with just one solenoid valve as after studying the vaccum line diagram in my tech manual it seems that the vaccum lines to each wastegate are completely independant of each other. I promise to do a full photographic write-up if i can get this to work as i think it's quite a neat idea/use of a dormant bit of engine management. :)

Power windows electric feed
I'd say the fusebox in the drivers footwell. But i would say there are much easier things to take a feed from. Why not something like the cig lighter or radio?

Parking in the summer & targa’s
I leave them off. Not too bad up here and most of the local chavs know or know-iof me and wouldn't try anything. My alarm doesn't have ultrasonics, just door, boot and (sensetive) shock sensing. I also have the added security of a paging system so if anyone so much as looks at my car the wrong way I can sprint in a Hoff-Baywatch style out of B&Q and then collapse on top of them in a physically exhausted state after over-doing the running thing!!!

My Zed Vs Supra
warning!!!! Don't underestimate the new Jags. Dunno what it was, latest reincarnation of the old XJ6 all black with blacked out chrome. After trying to undertake me on a roundabout I pulled away from him up to about a ton but then as i got close to the red line in 3rd he actually started to gain on me!!!! Luckilly there are a lot of roundabouts on that stretch and I used my low end acceleration to keep putting distance between us but in the end I pulled in just before my exit and he flew past me, must have been doing almost 150!!! You win some, you lose some.
