I bought speaker fabric off eBay, £5 for 1mx1m I think and it works well. Unfortunately I do not get lady friends on the daily like some people [emoji38]

That's the next job to do, need to pick up a grinding blade as opposed to the cutting blade that is on it, and I am told grind the inside where the starter mounts up about 2mm, and shim it out 3mm. I might make a plate to secure it properly but it shouldn't be a problem. So gearbox in on Friday I think, then finishing up wiring etc on Saturday for SE meet on Sunday... phew.

For my two cents, the fabric fades over time so i doubt you'll get a perfect match even with the correct colour stuff.

So, today I swore a lot, got the clutch pedal installed. Bruises and cuts later of hammering the auto pilot bush, I used a pipe wrench to spin it and loosened it and it finally spun out. Then Pilot bush installed, and flywheel + clutch installed also.

So... back in now. That ring is a basterd and really tight. Knocking it on either side isn't going to budge anything (at least in my case). I had to use a pipe wrench and spin it while spraying wd-40 into it, and eventually it spins enough to come out.

Sorted, and for future if anyone is wondering, the place where the starter bolts onto the bell housing, the inside needs grinding out approx 2mm, and starter spaced away 3mm. That rusty bit is the auto pilot bearing, and you use a coal chisel (or similar) to hit it each side until it comes out, and the pilot bushing is installed behind it. Thanks to Jimmer :)

Also the pilot bushing looks too big, I guess I am supposed to remove that rusty ring thing which acts as a retainer and then the bushing sits behind it? Noob question but don't want to smash a bushing and ive never done this before :(

Can somebody quickly tell my what I need to shave off the na box to fit a TT flywheel, and how thick the offset of the starter motor. Ie how many washers etc. Am fitting it today so will need to know asap

Rear subframe done and HICAs bypassed. Wow what a pig of a job... Locking collars installed and IMPUL swaybar moved over.

Magic headlights. When I removed the bulbs, they shattered so they must still be in there powered on.

Old clutch and flywheel out for the bolts, radiator out and headlights out. Clutch master cylinder out and I started to get the clutch pedal in... I now see why this job is so arduous. Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to get the top bracket above the wiring loom to where it bolts on? I have the two cylinder bolts through. I guess I have to take it off again and slide the bracket in first and then put the bolts through.

Spotted on the Brighton road earlier in the horrendous traffic. Metallic red body, with black roof and tailgate, and a large front splitter with lifters on it.

Sounds good only at 4000rpm and above. You see these huge turbo 4 rotors that sound like they want to stall on idle that sound pathetic, as you state like a farting snorting pig, but when they run quicker they sound good imo. 10k rpm :D

My dad doesn't mind. He's the one that gets to drive it ?
