.......Your club needs you!

Well, one of you..... Unfortunately due to work commitments Funky Si has had to pull out of exhibiting at the NEC this year. AndrewG was on the reserve list, but sadly has been let down by his painter so his rear spoiler will most likely not be finished in time.

Is anyone else, with a very nice Zed, ready, willing and able to step in at the eleventh hour? Please remember that you'll have to be at the NEC Thursday morning; and commit your car (and ideally yourself) until late Sunday evening! To recap, we have some hotel rooms booked - and the club will cover the cost. All you have to pay for are your meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner); and fuel for the journey.....

At this late stage, we feel it safer to stick with relatively stock examples (unless either or our racing versions were available); or cars which any of the committee has seen recently.

T.Mogsy should be in with a shot, as he was one of the first volunteers in the other thread. I do appreciate this is very short notice now - and if Andrew's car was ready, then I would not be asking. Craig is also prepared to step in - as he will be in attendance all weekend anyway - but we thought we'd offer the place in the open first.

In view of the urgency, this won't go to a poll as we don't have time; so apologies in advance. Craig and I will review, decide and advise the outcome by this time tomorrow.

Thanks for your help - it is most appreciated!

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Don't want to throw him in here, but last I heard Ash ((adl) phoenix) is attending anyway with his slickie... maybe he could trick something and help the club out :whistling:

Sorry Rich but it's too short notice with work & the kids to make arrangements. Maybe next year.

It is indeed - although I think Andy has other commitments now.....

Let's see what he says; and if anyone else throws a hat into the ring if Andy cannot make it.

Failing that, we can always stick to 3 cars and allow a bot more space to walk around the stand....!

Could possibly drop my blue slicktop up, would have to check I can have Thursday off, but would have to get the train home that night, and come get it Sunday. But it's nothing special, and Craigs zed is nicer iirc,

Thanks for stepping up Ash - and hold that thought.....

.....I don't want to put you out with having to travel back and forth, if there is a more convenient option!

I would more than happily lend you my Zed, but I fear it would put people off buying one. Maybe if you had a "this is what a poor zed looks like " section, mine would be perfect!

I would help out (driving something up there, helping out at the stand, etc) but I have to work that weekend

1990 Black MT NA LWB = 2014 - 2020 (Sold)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2015 - 2017 (Stripped & Scrapped)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2017 - 2021 (Sold)

1991 Black MT TT LWB = 2018 - 2021 (Sold)

1989 Red AT TT LWB = 2021 - XXXX (Kept)

Perhaps you could have a "before and after" restoration ! :)

Phutumsch? I appreciate his paintwork's a sore point for him, but it's still a cracking Zed....

Kind words, i would be embarrassed all weekend about my bodywork and end up talking about that rather than focusing on other matters.

I have also left things off it/let things go intentionally with a view to its impending respray.

As long as its clean and tidy, thats the important bit. :-) all the bits that dont normally get cleaned are spic and span, that would definitely have been my challenge

It does mean we end up with 1 of each model on the stand if you can make it.

Sounds like time off won't be an issue if needed, my boss is on about swapping Saturdays so may be able to stay after all,

If you are able to make it Thursday morning and stay for the weekend, then it would be great if you can do that.

If not, then don't make any special journey etc, i will use mine, or see if we have another offer, or just go with 3 cars and have the extra stand space. No problem.

If you confirm, then i will send you some details on what you need to bring, where to meet up, etc.

What about grays zed it's a nice example ?

It is indeed - along with so many others - but we are dependent on volunteers; and at such short notice, we have to go with the first person to step up. This year, Ash has done so - so as Andrew says, we have a 2+2, 2+0, a slick-top and a convertible. One of each, if you will......

Onwards and upwards; here's to a good show at the weekend:cool:
